Has return to zendikar already been crossed-out as a possibility for the next block? This card would make for some serious synergy with eldrazi spawn etc.
Ok the 6 slivers makes a lot more sense with that information. The idea of having a block set on the Sliver home world is very intriguing though, could definitely make for some solid flavor. Just as intriguing would be a plane experiencing a sliver invasion (although it might be too similar to the Eldrazi invasion).
It doesn't really fit the in theme of Khans, but given that there were only 6 slivers M15, it makes me think we might see slivers returning in KTK or perhaps the following block. It just doesn't make sense to me to only have the period where both M14 and M15 can be played together in standard have enough slivers to make them a viable deck type and then after rotation just have 6 slivers in the pool. Thoughts about slivers coming back in a non-core set soon?
I have to agree with most of these, especially the commander 2013 generals, although I think that will die down with time as different legends come out and people who just got into edh because of the 2013 product start to branch out.
The biggest issue I have with those generals and some others (like Edric or Animar or Omnath) is what some others have said which is that all the builds are 90% identical. One of the biggest attractions to edh for me what the sheer variety of cards that you could see played in any given game, crazy combinations of cards that you've never seen interacting before. But when players go into edh with a competitive mindset originality goes out the window and with it a lot of the fun.
So when I wanted to make Animar, I went elemental tribal. For edric, rogues and spies. For Oloro, no life-gain shenanigans but instead every mass removal spell I could find (he's ageless so I though mass-removal was an interesting theme for him). And for the mimeoplasm I built a poison/infect deck. By placing a thematic or tribal restriction on my edh decks it does makes them less competitive but way more fun to play, and at according to the group at my LGS, more fun to play against.
Anyone have thoughts as to why Foil Coercive Portal is sitting at $60 right now when the regular is at $2? I can see it's potential as a great EDH card, I can see it being sought after for Cubes, but for $60 there must be something I'm missing.
Really used to enjoy playing with the Vanguard cards years ago, looking to get the set. Seeing lots of different prices for individual cards, individual series, and partial complete sets. What is the current value of a complete set of the 32 Vanguard Cards?
