    Revamping and recreating an old set idea of mine:

    Seogard

    In the vastness of the universe, the twin planets Seogard and Mobevros dance in an eternal cosmic dance. Defying logic, these two planets orbit around each other as an eternal reminder of their brotherhood, but they could not be more different. Mobevros is a bare planet full of technology and scientific advances. On the other hand, Seogard is a place of magic and wonder.
    This is the tale of Seogard, a world full of magic, literally. The whole core is a mix of raw magic energy and the purest forces of earth. This means that the magic in Seogard is everywhere. Every rock, every plant, every person and every creature is imbued with it, capable of tapping its powers. Seogard is a place of both immense wonder and incredible dangers.
    And no place in Seogard is more advanced as the continent of Eos, where our story goes. In this small piece of land, empires and nations struggle for power and resources. From Siephaer, the land where knowledge is power, in the North to Mirinnia, the kingdom of the immortal king, in the South, Eos thrives with intrigue, war and alliances. These are the tales of this chaotic land.

    Nations:
    white mana Sancta Terra: With the rise of the Church of the Primam Lucem, this small nation is land of devoted servants of the shining God. Ruled by an entity only known as Iudex, this is a place where only complete devotion is permited.
    Themes: Defense, protection, clerics, angels
    blue mana Siephaer: There is but one true power in Siephaer, which is knowledge. And there is no greater knowledge than magic. Siephaer is a land ruled by powerful wizards, where the most incredible feats of magic are obtained. In it, lies the Great Academy, the a huge complex devoted to teaching and research.
    Themes: Spellcasting, wizards, library and stack manipulation.
    black mana Tenebra: Tenebra is actually a stagnant moon, that casts shadow permanently in a continent in the south of Seogard, forsaken of all life. This dark moon is a reminder of a powerful and forgotten god long exiled. But the creatures of the dark moon now reach their claws into Eos.
    Themes: Demons, undead, corruption, life loss, sacrifice
    red mana Akhba: A small nation long kept in the desert, Akhba is a place of survival. Its people range from witty merchants, to elementalists, to fierce warriors. Now they discovered in the desert of Mir-Kurrai traffic of weaponry and technology from Mobevros, giving the war advantage they so much needed to attack and conquer more prosperous lands.
    Themes: Elements, spellcasting, direct damage
    green mana
    Gloriànn: Existing in a huge forest with the same name, Gloriànn is the biggest elven nation of Seogard, but a few decades ago absorved a centaur kingdom to save them from the increasing attacks of other kingdoms. Now, both races rule together, and mixing the military might of the centaur with the powerful magic of the elves, Gloriànn if feared throughout Eos.
    Themes: Quick creatures, creature pump, tokens
    R/W mana
    Tharos: A kingdom that exists in a land full of dragon, the people of Tharos both fear and venerate these ancient creatures. Tharos is a nation of warrios, having to withstand both the fury of Leberia to the West and the greed of Akhba in the East. It is ruled by the noble Roy Dracchen, the Dragonblood Prince.
    Themes: Combat, combat tricks, sacrifice oneself for others
    G/U mana
    Mirinnia: Residing in a part of land only connected by a small piece of land, Mirinnia has always been protected from the rest of Eos, but that does not mean it has always know peace. For centuries, it was a land torn by a continuous war between three kingdoms. Only a few decades ago that a powerful wizard named Wilbourgh found all pieces of a powerful artifact, known as Trinity, that has power over the land, and thus became king, and ended all wars. Mirinnia is a land of bizarre people and creatures, because of erratic portals that open to it from other planes. The problem is that now the portals are mostly being opened from lower planes, attracting evil to its land.
    Themes: Magic triggers, tokens, weird effects
    B/G mana
    Leberia:The biggest nation of Eos, it thrives in its many fields and natural resources, making it a very rich place. The people of Leberia are also very adeptof geomancy. The problem is that riches come with a price, and it lives in a constant inner struggle for power.
    Themes: Land manipulation, resource generation, corruption, opponent tricks, greed

    The theme for Seogard is playing a lot of spells. With that, we will see lots of spells and abilities interacting with other spells, stack manipulation, mana cost meddling and much more.

    Mechanics:
    Riposte: Prevent all damage that would be dealt to and by CARDNAME in the first strike step. (Combat ability, primarily on white, but also a bit on red and black).
    Spellcast X: When CARDNAME comes into play, you may remove an instant or sorcery card from your hand of the same color as this card with casting cost equal or less then X and imprint it in this. T, Remove a spell counter: You may play a copy of an imprinted card (Ability for wizards, primarily on blue, second in red and tertiary in white
    Heighten [COST]: [COST], Discard this card: Add CARDNAME’s effect to the effect of target spell. You make all the choices. ( A bit different version of splice, but you can also use in an opponent's spells. It is basically a different way to play a card. Primarily on black, but also on blue and red)
    Feedback - Whenever CARDNAME is target of a spell or ability, do stuff. (Pseudo keyword mainly for non-permanent spells. Primarily green and red, with some in white)

    It's not about being great, it's about telling a story of its own. Lin Sivvi does that, and so does other legends that are pretty straight forward. I just didn't feel that in your card.

    Quote from Crusader_8
    My only comment is that Ixidron turns non-morph creatures face-down, no problem. Those creatures simply can't be turned face up except when a card effect forces them to.

    I was inspired by Ichor Wellspring to design a puzzle that a Johnny player would be compelled to solve. In a game where loops and repeatable effects that can be activated at least once per turn or more, there are plenty of ways for the card to be put to use.

    Having said that it is extremely limited and I should have been more open-minded about what triggers the effect, though I still would have chosen an effect that turns creatures face down. It is an effective equalizer considering how crazy creatures get these days.

    You are right about the first part, I forgot about Ixidron. The second part, while it is a little similar, Ichor Wellspring is a non-legendary common, and drawing a card is a more usable concept then flipping creatures. And third, I see know your idea, but still doesn't seem like a legendary permanent to me. A more reusable trigger would be better and more fitting to a legendary status, IMHO.

    Again, sorry for the late reviews. Also, gotta say I'm a little bummed that we only got 1 critique for team bow-chicka-bow-bow

    Without a Trace (Uncommon)
    :3mana::symw::symb:
    Instant
    Exile target creature.
    Retrace (You may cast this card from your graveyard by discarding a land card in addition to paying its other costs.)
    Much to the authorities' chagrin, the only trace of evidence was the glaring absence of it.

    Simpleand elegant. Nothing more to say. Nice job!

    Chronoparoxysm :4mana::symw::symw:
    Sorcery (R)
    Kicker blue mana (You may pay an additional blue mana as you cast this spell.)
    Put all creatures on top of their owner's library. If Chronoparoxysm was kicked, any number of target players each then shuffle his or her library.
    "The best part is that after this I won't even remember your unfortunate existence." - Kurasas, the Insider.

    Name and flavor is incredible. But this card has one huge issue for me. Putting on top is very much a blue thing, unless the creature is in combat.

    Grind Into Pulp :2mana::symb::symb:
    Sorcery
    Target creature loses all abilities. Then destroy that creature. If that creature would be put into a graveyard from play this turn, exile it and its owner's graveyard.
    Buyback - Tap two untapped creatures you control.

    I got the flavor of this, but the hugh majority of cases, this will simply be a exile target creature card. All the rest just adds more complication.

    Vengeance Beacon :3mana::symw::symw::symw:
    Sorcery (R)

    Exile all creatures. Shuffle Vengeance Beacon into its owner’s library.
    The battlefield flows with the vengeful light of the guardians, swallowing everything in its beam.

    Nicely done. I think this is right on the border between clean and elegant and too simple, but given the task and the flavor, it works. The name is just not right for me. It does not sound white and Vengeance seems more like a target creature thing. This just exiles everybody and everyone.

    Spectral Blight :xmana::symw::symw::symb::symb:
    Sorcery (R)
    Each creature target opponent controls gets –X/-X until end of turn, if a creature dies this way, exile it instead of putting it into its owner's graveyard. Put a 1/1 white Spirit token with flying onto the battlefield under your control for each creature exiled this way.
    The flesh may be unwilling but I’ve found the spirit to be much more pliable.
    -Korin, Extortion Operative

    This could easily be mono-black, just having the spirit be black. If it were to be white, double white mana is too much. The "if a creature..." part should be a separate phrase.

    Frown

    Sunstorm :symr::symr::symw:
    Sorcery (R)

    Sunstorm deals 3 damage to each creature. If a creature dealt damage this way would die this turn, exile it instead. Exile Sunstorm.
    Isn't the sun a tad too strong today?

    Very straightforward. I see flavorwise why this is white, and while I have no problem with it, it could be easily mono-red. The exile itself part seems a little unnecessary.

    Clementine, Upstart Angel white mana
    Legendary Creature - Angel (M)
    Flying
    Whenever a source would deal damage to you, reduce that damage to X where X is Clementine, Upstart Angel's power.
    -1/0

    So, for white mana and any mass pumper (such as Favorable Winds) you can't be damaged at all? This is really broken.

    The Rod of Masks 1 mana
    Legendary Artifact R
    Whenever The Rod of Questions enters or leaves the battlefield, turn target
    creature face up or face down.
    A cursed relic; it confounds the new owner by obscuring the familiar faces
    around him, but those mad enough will choose to see the world as a blur
    long after it seeks a new owner.

    Three problems here. First, this does not seem like a legendary card, just a plain artifact. Second, its ability is too limited, as it only happens twice. And third, what happens if you turn face down a creature without morph?

    Bloodmyst B/R mana
    Legendary Enchantment (M)

    If a creature would enter the battlefield, choose one: Sacrifice it unless it's controller pays 3 life; That creature's controller loses 3 life unless they sacrifice another, nontoken creature.

    The blood of the fallen demands the penance of the living.

    The wording is a bit off. You can't sacrifice other people's creatures, so the first choice should be "It's controller sacrifices it unless he or she pays 3 life". The idea of chosing the penalty is interesting. I think it may be a little too harsh for just 1 mana, but it's ok. Also, this does not feel red at all, it could easily be just black. But cool card.

    Krenmaw, the Cruel - red mana
    Legendary Creature - Human Barbarian
    Whenever ~ attack or blocks, sacrifice a land.
    4/4

    Assuming this is a Mythic, I think this just might be pushing enough. I can see a deck built with this guy, using the mana just enough to keep the board clean for this guy to attack. I really like this.

    Llanowar Treehouse green mana
    Legendary Enchantment - Aura [M]
    Enchant land
    Tap enchanted land: Put a 1/1 green elf token onto the battlefield.
    Tap three untapped creatures you control: Untap enchanted land.

    This card is very cool. The ideas are simple and clean, the interaction is cool and feels very Llanowar. My only gripe is that the name is pretty lame.

    Seal of Renewal white mana
    legendary enchantment [m]
    When seal of renewal enters the battlefield choose a card type.
    sacrifice seal of renewal: Regenerate all cards of the chosen type.
    'The seal contains pure blistering life energy, may we never need to use it, for that would be a dark day indeed.' Arorian Meditator

    This does not feel legendary (or mythic) at all. This could be a regular Rare or maybe even uncommon, even with the weirdness of regenerating non-creatures. Also, the wording is off, it should be regenerate all perments of that type, not cards. And it has memory issues. If you cast this in turn 1, by turn 4 or 5 will be hard to remember which type you chose. I could see this as an instant.

    Circle of Uray'k red mana
    Legendary Enchantment (R)
    At the beginning of each combat step, you put target creature the active player controls under control of a different opponent.

    First of all, the wording is a little wonky. Active player is a weird wording to do so. But the biggest problem is that this card only ever works on multiplayer, and so it is very very very limited. Also, it's mandatory if you have a valid target, so you can't skip it if you want to.

    Last Horror black mana
    Legendary Creature - Horror
    Deathtouch.
    When Last Horror enters to the battlefield from your hand, exile it.
    When you have 2 or less life, return it from the exile onto the battlefield. It gains haste until end of turn.
    10/10

    This is way too easy to get in play by other means than casting. Unearth only costs black mana for example, and you could easily have this on play by turn 2 or 3. Also, deathtouch on a 10/10 is pretty much unnecessary.

    Aether Gate blue mana
    Whenever a player plays a spell on an opponent's turn, return target creature to it's owner's hand unless he or she pays 1 life.

    Interesting card. The effect is cool, and the drawback is appropriate enough. But casting stuff on the opponents turn is a pretty blue thing, so I would rather see this in another color, probably white (with some other cost) or black.

    Sacred Lifestone 1 mana
    Legendary Artifact (M)
    As Sacred Lifestone enters the battlefield, each player chooses a color.
    Each player may spend mana of the color he or she chose as though it was mana of any color.

    Very cool card. It can be very useful for a multicolored deck, even with some splash, but it also benefits the opponent. My only problem is the memory issue. As you have two remember at least 2 choices, it can be a little hard on a longer game.

    Mundu Fesk, Hero of Heroes W/G mana
    Legendary Creature - Kithkin (R)
    Mundu Fesk gets +1/+1 for each other legendary permanent you control.
    1/1

    Great job Rudyard. This is simple, clean, nicely costed. Nothing bad to say except it deserved a nice flavor text.

    Tough choice. I like a lot of cards, but for me it's between KageHamasuta's Krenmaw and Rudyard's Mundu Fesk. I think at 1 mana, clean design is the way to go. I wish I could declare a draw, but in this case Kage takes it by a hair just because it kept a simple design while also pushing for something a little more exciting.

    So, next up:

    Guys, I'm very sorry for being late on the critiques, top 3, but there it is now.

    Backstreet Dealer :2mana::symb::symb:
    Creature - Rat Rogue {U}
    Whenever Backstreet Dealer deals combat damage to a player, choose one - That player discards a card; or pay 1 life, then draw a card.
    "I can take his belongings. But if you want them, there's a price."
    2/2

    I like this card's idea, but for the flavor I would rather see some way to do both. Also, the wording for the draw part should be lose 1 life instead of pay 1 life, because the life loss is not a cost. As you need to connect and this has no evasion, I think it could go 3/2 or even 3/3, but that's just a suggestion, not actually a problem.

    Frown

    Alchemist Street Irregulars :symu::symr:
    Creature - Human Rogue (R)
    Haste
    Whenever Alchemist Street Irregulars deal damage to a player, draw a card then discard a card.
    Whenever Alchemist Street Irregulars becomes the target of a spell or an ability, you may flip a coin. If you flip heads, counter that spell or ability and draw a card. If you flip tails, discard a card.
    2/1

    I think you tried too much. If it was just the first ability, it would have been a nice, clean and aggressive piece of work. The second ability does not really add to the flavor or design IMO, and just convolutes the whole thing. Also, I would like to see the first ability reversed, so it is more useful.

    Meeri, Pragmatic Brawler :2mana::symu::symr:
    Legendary Creature - Human Rogue (R)
    Whenever Meeri, Pragmatic Brawler attacks, choose a number, then reveal the top card of your library. If the revealed card has converted mana cost equal to the chosen number, put it into your graveyard and Meeri gets +X/+0 and gains first strike until end of turn, where X is that card's converted mana cost. Otherwise, put it into your hand.
    For every weapon in her hand she has three up her sleeves.
    2/2
    An interesting design, but instead of a cost I would rather see type. This will, most of the time, be just a draw when attack card. Yes, I know blue can manipulate so you choose the top, but that seems like an unnecessary task for a +X/+0 without evasion.

    Scarred Beggar :1mana::symb:
    Creature - Human Rogue (U)
    Deathtouch, intimidate
    :2mana::symu:: Whenever Scarred Beggar deals combat damage to a player this turn, draw a card.
    1/1
    I think this design is all over the place. You have deathtouch with evasion and an activated ability for when it connects. I would rather see either only the evasion (like a repeatable black Magpie of the sorts) or a decision card (he can either lose a guy or give you a card). Either of those would be fine. Also, the cost of the draw it's too high, I think you could go 1U. Even the body could afford to go higher. Also, this could use a flavor.

    Shadow Leaper :symb::symb:
    Creature - Imp (U)
    Target opponent draws a card: Shadow Prowler gains flying until end of turn
    Whenever Shadow Prowler deals damage to a player, that player discards a card.
    It’ll have your secrets, almost before you know it’s there.
    2/2
    First of all, the templating is off. Costs can never target. You could go something like:
    :0mana:: Target oponent draws a card. ~ gains flying until end of turn.
    The idea of the card is pretty fun, you can give your opponent a card for evasion, just to take it off later. The only problem is that I don't really see this fitting much the chalenge.

    I really like your suggestion Crusader. Being able to only give counters to other creatures would make it much cooler. About the bigger body, I think it's fine the way it is, but maybe a 5/5 with the above restriction would make it much more agressive, and more usable.

    Guys, now I have to agree with Crusader in his comment. Don't get too caught up in the design, trying to do too much. Sometimes a clean design is much better Grin
