    A more proper wording would be "sacrifice a creature. Regenerate target creature you control." Also, I can see this as either a white or green effect, not red at all

    Actually, Legend, I think the true break element of your card is not how to play a legend every turn, because that can be very simple, but how to get the enchantment on play wihtout waiting for that eight mana to come around.

    And Unworthy Apprentice is a pretty cool card Grin I think people should submit more common and/or simple cards to competitions.

The scenario of you propose of bouncing a legendary permanent for infinite turns is quite possible. I see no problem with a three card combo wincon. There are several if not many that can be achieved for far less than eight+mana. Typicall three+ specific cards and 8 mana. (I just researched it and found that Heidar, Rimewind Master+Lightning Greaves fill in the gaps quite nicely if not best of all. There's also Temporal Adept and 11 mana, but by then you might as well be playing Omniscience for a mere 10.) Anyways, I think your crit was fair. I just wanted to explain my reasoning. Smile

    Oh, yeah, I had to tap into the tertiary mechanical aspect of my block for something parasitic. The primary thrust behind my sets are modularity in the forms of Alliance and Landfall. So thanks for not holding that against me.


    In all fairness, I agree with Willows. The tricky part is actually getting your card into play. After that, any cheap costing Legend is game. Even Venser would work, being a repeatable 4 turn walk.

    I am working on a set with a stack theme, and I ran into ideas like that. My solution was to clear the wording by doing something like

    If a player controls a blue spell, Steam Singe deals 3 damage to target creature or player.

    Or something like that.

    Creatures get -1/-1 until end of turn for each of their creature types.
    Emanate (When you cast this spell, you may pay the converted mana cost of any cards in any graveyard that have Emanate. If you do, you may put a copy of those spells on the stack.)

    I got tosay that I don't really don't care for emanate. With it, you can cast a whole lot of spells very oftenly and without spending them. So spells with emanate have to be really really expensive. With that, the card is ok by itself, but the emanate breaks it.


    Momentous Occasion (Mythic)

    Legendary Enchantment
    Whenever you cast Momentous Occasion or another legendary spell, take an extra turn after this one.
    The king has arrived!

    I really like the idea and flavor behind this card, but unfortunately it's very easily broken. While it is a challenge to put it into play to begin with, soon it becomes easy to just bounce cheap costing legends to gain infinite turns. Also, the part about casting itself is pointless, as it is not on the battlefield when you cast it, and thus won't trigger itself.

    As long as Javid, Skyknight Captain is paired with another creature with flying, it gets +3/+3, has flying, and has “:symr:: Javid gets +1/+0 until end of turn.”

    First of all, I don't find Skyknight particularly parasitic. Also, it is just a rehash of Soulbound, with the only difference the flying part. Actually, your creature may as well have Soulbound, as in the abilty it requires the creature to have flying, which would be unnecessary with Skyknight. And another thing, this does not seem blue at all, all of it seems red and white.

    I like that you went the path of a mechanic not keyworded. The idea is cool, I like where you are going with this. A big problem is that with this card you can just look at your opponent's library and shuffle it every turn for :symu:. It's not a big gripe, but it's an issue I see.

    As long as Venerable Glamersmith is enchanted, you may cast Aura cards from your graveyard.

    You know what? This is pretty cool. It is a simple design, clean, shows your mechanic, and with proper build up (parasitic it is!), it can be a beast. I just wish you had a flavor, but this is pretty darn cool.

    I'm very very intrigued with Rejuvenated. I see a lot of potential here, and the flavor is pretty cool. About Scuvire, I like the design, and this can net you a lot of life quickly, while also triggering a lot of other "rejuvenators" out there. I just wish this had lifelink to sinergize with the double strike to make a really cool design, but that's just MHO.

    Yes, there are problems, but all are trumped due to the issues that making a permanent change on an instant would cause. Imagine this being cast a lot of times, in a lot of different creatures. It would be chaotic to remember it all and would make the game very prone to errors.

    I just hated WOTC for not going there. This is a pretty straight-forward way to use splice in a good way, the effect is cool and simple enough. I just think it could be 2U.

    Nice card. It would be better to see the power level on this with the rarity, but it's cool. I'm not totally sold on the red ninjutsu, but it's not much of a stretch either.

    I see the flavor, but this is waaaaaaaay too wordy and convoluted. The ability could just say Jensei fights target creature an opponent controls. Also, I would rather see just one ability related to honor counters, pump or win. And with anything to untap, I can see this as a pretty easy win condition.

    You know, I always thought about that myself, and I think yes, it would work. This is a pretty cool design, correctly costed and it feels new. The name is a little 'meh', but ok.

    It's an ok card. Nothing wrong, but also nothing great.

    Very cool card. It can be very devastating and risky, but very cool. Also, name is great.


    Guys, you gave me a pretty hard time. Off the bat, I'm torn between the ninja from The_Cooler, and the two splicers, KageHamusuta and 175grams. Thinking about all aspects, The_Cooler made a great card, but didn't stretch what already exists. Kage and 175 on the other hand went beyond. Of those two card, Soul of Lightning feels a little bit more interesting and new. It's by an electrified hair, but the victory goes to 175grams.

    So, next challenge:
    IIW: the card from the "[set] mechanics" article that showcases a new keyword.

    Stack interaction - every colour, obviously blue primary.

    Tokens - Some combat should be involved, even without creature cards. Primary green, secondary white, tertiary all colours.
    Random effects (including random discard) - Red primary, black... well, more tertiary than secondary.

    Returning mechanics:
    Suspend, scry, fateseal, buyback.

    New mechanics: To be determined.

    ...I'm not sure I can do this, but it's worth a shot.


    That seems like a very cool idea. I hope you pull it off.
