Hey trains sad to see you go. I remember trading with you before and after you changed your user name. Anyway, goodluck with your new efforts - I'd be more than happy if you pm'ed me the article once its completed.
I'll make a gambit and say that Wrath of god won't be reprinted (to be replaced by Damnation). You know because of late white has been getting all the goodies and it needs to be nerfed down [/sarcasm].
i dont know if anyone saw the wizards article on the ultimatums but every ultimatum was suppose to have a planeswalker (tezzeret in brilliant ultimatum, elspeth in clarion ultimatum, ajani in titanic ultimatum and sarkhan vol in violent ultimatum). i have a feeling that the planeswalker (aka the greater power) in cruel ultimatum is nicol bolas, planeswalker
To me that seemed like spoon feeding people to think: where is the Grixis walker? Irony is that a good part of the Magic community already knows where he is, ie in Conflux
I voted for shocklands. Though I'm inclined to believe that they will reprint only ALLIED colour shocklands. Used to happen that way before. And it's something I'm sensing for no real reason.
Scornful Egotist - A 1/1 for 8 mana. The morph ability doesn't make it much better.
Scourge has ALOT of cards where converted mana cost matters. In fact it was a relatively high pick in triple scourge UR draft decks (though you really had to be black in that format).
1. Damnation - this one should be core setted! Take that white!
2. Dark confidant - he was the reason I played black all the time he was legal.
3. Corrupt - nostalgia for the old school corrupt+mirari decks
Okay, my two cents, crossed with storytime. At the Prerelease, I decided to indulge in some Open Duelling. "Anything but Grixis" I said to myself, and sure enough...Grixis. Complete with Cruel Ultimatum. When i first saw this card, I thought the same...seems nice, but 7 colored mana in 3 different colors? Come on. First game I think, I drew it, and I was on my last legs. Did some quick math, and holy wow...I could play it. I did, and sure enough, it completely shifted the game. It turned a clear loss into a win. Every game I pulled it, it had a big effect on it. So playable? I'd say so, at least in this environment.
Isn't this a sealed story? I guess very few people would argue that this is not the nuts in sealed (silo would you ;)). I think it's harder to argue that this card is so strong in constructed. I see it weak against aggro and U-based control decks. Sure it might be easy to cast in QnT but it will often end up eating some mogg fanatic when you'd be rather hoping for a damnation.
It's because those aren't official wordings, people aren't perfect when trying to remember cards they've seen and their exact wordings.
I'm assuming that the wording is taken from Gatherer or from the official spoilt card. I'm not sure whether this is a move towards greater simplicity or whether it's a careless mistake a la oboro in Saviours that did not have until end of turn in its text when it should have.
While it isn't exactly fair to judge them head to head, look at a card like Doran, you can't kill him easily. Hyppie dies to the most commonly played 1-2 mana removal, doran dies to 3 mana removal, and not even all of it.
Hyppie is a Magic classic card, along the lines of necro, ritual, counterspell and so on, so game lovers should be just about happy with that. Of course, if you just play T2, you might feel a bit disappointed.
Seconded. At times Affinity has issues in setting up 2U, because of limited coloured sources and a limited land count compared to conventional decks. Also he does not solve problems such as kataki, recall, or spree - he just goes down with the rest.
Too slow for this deck IMHO - also broodstar at least had flying.
HOORAY NO $200 MANA BASES!!!
This is great news for the low budget players
I don't want to ruin all this for you. But XIth is just round the corner. And I can feel the Rav duals lurking their heads up again! (Or maybe the fetches).
English 6th had shiny (green I think) booster that looked very much like modern ones. Unsure of where this is from.

2. Decree of justice - seems I like angels
3. Wrath of god - and blowing them up!
2. Dark confidant - he was the reason I played black all the time he was legal.

Thanks!

It was alreadt so with timespiral (undead warchief) and the lord from tenth edition. No deck ever really sparked off from that though.
But Doran dies to a 1 CC removal spell
