Aug 15, 2009Jau posted a message on Getting back At Magic60 cards is the minimum limit. The intro pack comes with a M10 booster, so you can add the white and red cards from the booster to the deck. You'll still be around 15 cards short though, so you might need to buy some singles. More copies of Elite Vanguard, Harm's Way and Lightning Bolt would certainly make the deck more powerful.Posted in: Pet Snakes Corner

So I'm curious to ask, what are the first Magic cards you ever designed? I'm not expecting quality, of course. We all had to start somewhere. But I thought it would be fun to reveal the good/bad cards that we came up with when we first started.
I'll share some of mine, complete with original wording:
Raging Serpant 3GG
Creature - Serpant
Trample
1G: Raging Serpant gets +1/+0 until end of turn.
Go anywhere near the serpant and you would die - Guy
4/3
Spelling and grammatical issues aside (I was only 12 years old back then!), this seems nicely balanced.
Falcon Hero 2WW
Creature - Hero
Haste, Flying 3
When it comes into play, Falcon Hero gets +2/+2 until end of turn.
3/2
I think I played a lot of Smash Bros. Melee at the time, so I started designing cards based on Nintendo characters. With Flying 3, it's meant to be the Fading equivalent for evergreen abilities, so Falcon Hero would have Flying for the first three turns it's on the battlefield. No, doesn't make sense to me either.
Mythical Hammer 5
Artifact
All creatures lose their abilities and get +2/+2.
1, Sacrifice Mythical Hammer: Destroy target creature. It can't be regenerated.
This one I actually like.
Sorcery
As an additional cost to cast Idol Worship, exile a creature card from your graveyard.
Put X 0/1 Human Cleric creature tokens onto the battlefield, where X is equal to the converted mana cost of the exiled card.
WW skill or ability to list on your resume/CV.
Land
:symtap:: Add 1 to your mana pool.
3UB, :symtap:: Put a blue and black 1/1 Bird creature token with flying and swampwalk onto the battlefield.
Enchantment
Whenever an opponent casts a spell, you may untap target creature you control.
