Booster tutor seems like a blast to play. Maybe I should give it a try. Has anyone ever strapped one to a Isochron scepter? That's the only reason I haven't included it yet...I don't know how to account for tutoring that many cards...same goes for eternal witness and archaeomancer
In the box with my cube I keep all the cards that used to be in cube and cards I want to find room to test (about 500 cards or so).
So my house rule is first make 15 card packs of nondrafted Cube cards, then if they run out make packs from the unsleved other cards not currently in cube.
I've never had anyone use the spares yet.
I think it would be kinda fun.
I know that at least at one point, many people seemed to include Homicidal Seclusion. It came back in during my latest spree of updates but how good has it been for others? I keep envisioning it as a control card, used alongside something like Benthic Giant. But does it actually fulfill its function?
I had it in for a bit, but it was definitely a pet card.
My players all made fun of me for keeping it in CUbe so long.
It doesn't do anything alone.
I liked it with a shroud type dude, or reassembling skeleton, or a threaten effect.
But I felt like I had to build around it, or it was a win more card.
Am I missing something, or are these cards awesome? Running less cards for free is all upside, as is being on the play every game. Why aren't people cubeing these cards? Is it just that they're too "weird" for most people's taste? Am I missing something that makes them bad?
I like them, I cut the ones that felt broken, or unfun.
But now, I don't think I want to draft my cube without Unexpected Potential in it.
How often would you say people play lingering souls with 0 or 1 black source?
Also, I'm too old now to reasonably steal children.
agree that at 0 black sources its probably close to 0% of the time... BUUUUT the cube has a good amount of mana fixing (lands wise) not showing in CT link as its not updated, but I've adapted to add the 10 rare PAIN duals and the 10 "comes into play tapped unless have a basic" dual along with vivids, tri-lands and gemstone stuff... so cards that are obviously powerful with an off color requirement tend to get inserted.
again, it is part the people i play with... will do things like that than try to be as streamlined/efficient as possible.
I don't think this will reduce the number of 3-4 color deck people play.
ram-gang is definitely auto-include worthy. hobgoblin doesn't really make a cut into mono-white or red; he's definitely stuck in the in between and even then he doesn't do a whole lot on his own. definitely better options out there (spitemare).
I would include triple-hybrids in their respective guild sections. Occasionally going in mono-colored decks is a bonus but the majority of the time you need to be in both colors to reliably cast them on curve.
I've decided to try the .5/.5 hybrid system that I know some of you use.
And I wonder about some of the 3 or more hybrid mana cards.
A card like Boggart Ram-Gang or Hearthfire Hobgoblin feels mostly like a guild card, that occasionally ends up in a mono color deck.
I wonder what other peoples experiences are with cards like this?
I get this, and I agree that in a vacuum this is true.
But there are times where I would rather have Ogre Marauder in play than Latch Seeker.
Let's say I have Tragic Slip in hand and black mana open. My opponent has 2 blockers (1 big, 1 small)
If I swing with Ogre Marauder they may choose to sac the small guy planing to block with the big one, only to get Tragic Slip and the Ogre Marauder ends up doing the damage anyway.
I understand this is a bit of a Christmas example, but I use it to illustrate that sometimes giving your opponents a choice isn't necessarily the worst, period.
I'd play it.
My play group loves winning with bears.
It's like winning twice.
I've been happy with it.
And it's nice that soulbond isn't a targeted ability.

I currently have 7 counters out of 60 blue cards.
I don't think this will reduce the number of 3-4 color deck people play.
Frost Walker
1 U
Creature - Elemental
When Frost Walker becomes the target of a spell or ability, sacrifice it.
4/1
It could maybe work in blue aggro.
Would you run it over any of the following?
Fanatic of Xenagos
Bloodbraid Elf
Ghor-Clan Rampager
Okay, I'll try to find a spot for Boggart Ram-Gang.
As for the Hearthfire Hobgoblin he may sit on the sidelines for awhile.
Yea, that makes sense.

I would play that.
Also, happy new years y'all.
