Both Ulamog have plus and minus, but annihilator almost always ends the game unless you face a massive token horde, then the newlamog' sexier library becomes more useful.

I like new Kozy better because I play commander, so a creature that could warrant a full hand and ways to protect oneself is a plus to me, not to mention hard to block (ends game In two swings with general damage). Because old Kozy doesn't have any self-defense, it's less of a threat (relatively speaking) when compared to its siblings.

Old Emmy is without a doubt the most powerful creature there is. New Emmy is at least playable with or without set up.

Very well written story today and in a weird way I'm okay with Nahiri becoming a villain. While it is sad since she was really awesome as a character, she was always gonna end up being a villain. This has been set up years ahead. Besides Bolas and Ob she is also the first villain I feel is a real threat. Varska, Tibalt and Tezzeret seem so minor.

Well, between Olivia claiming the now-vacant title of Lord of Innistrad and apparently Anje Falkenrath returning to prominence via certain flavor text, it seems we may have a few nods to Innistrad 3.0 being set up with vampires returning to some form of prominence, even if their numbers were hit as hard if not more so than all of the other tribes by Emrakul.

It would be their time to rise, vampires are the most dangerous race to humans on Innistrad and now Avacyn is dead, it is Dark Ascension all over again, except Humans have a few more allies in spirits and werewolves and eldrazi monsters hunter both vampires and humans will event things out some.

Story was pretty good, although I'm curious as to how one stops Nahiri now in terms of combat. She seems a bit op, being able to alter mana, the combat arena and create weapons and cover at will. Seems Sorin only got his shot in while she was distracted. Guess now we're waiting for the inevitable stone lady vs. Spirit Dragon showdown.

I see Nahiri kinda like Bolas, she needs time to set things up. She has had a year of time to bend Innistrad mana to her design which is why hSorins magical attacks didn't work. If she had multiple people attacking with magic she might be more at a disadvantage.

Not to mention Nahiri is a WHITE villain, in both mana and looks XD There is no black in her, because she is not doing this for power, but for righteous fury, twisted as it was.

I like having variety in villainy. Twisted youth is a great way to insert an unpredictable element to the universe. Traditionally only black, blue, and red spawn enemies, which is why I appreciate Garruk and Naihri. If only they could be pure green and pure white...

Yes, but now Nahiri, a white and red character, has access to counterspells.

More like redirection, which is red Grin

Nahiri's Wrath may be the salvation for a Boros deck, maybe? It kills and allow selective discard at low cost. and as Lycoris mentioned, it works awesome with all the damage shenanigans Boros are good at, including Stuffy Doll.

Dark Salvation is great, despite the high cost it helps teammate and/or create politics on the board.

Works on teammate! You can give them creatures in a team game while killing what troubles him, a great political card.

I wonder if there's enough good cards to make a Horror deck now.

To celebrate American Independence Day (We Europeans don't care about it), here's one of the most American generals possible:

    Ruhan of the Fomori

It's big and powerful and not so bright and will randomly attack whatever it desires. Sounds American to me!
Joking aside, Ruhan has a few interesting tricks that make him better, and well, he's still a 7/7 for 4. Arguably a lot better in 1v1 though.

He's technically blind, which makes him even more fitting for people of America. Many of us are media-driven, passion-over-reason, and has the tendency to blame victims, so yes, blind indeed.

Joke aside, I have never tried him before. Would he fit more of a voltron or serve as a distraction in control?

Oath of Liliana goes well with Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath, since as a general he could come in consistently (not that you want it to happen frequently, just a side benefit).

    Quote from illakunsaa »
New lily looks kinda bad. Liliana, Defiant Necromancer removes cards, protects herself, generates advantage and has an ultimate that matters even after a board wipe.

Liliana, the Last Hope's ultimate works after a board wipe also, just not the same kind of benefit (2+x zombies at the end of turn instead of reviving creatures). I wonder if Lili Necro's flip requirement is what made Wizards justify Lili Last Hope's lower power level.

    Ishkanah, Grafwidow 4G
    Legendary Creature - Spider
    Reach
Delirium - When ~ enters the battlefield, if there are four or more card types among cards in your graveyard, put three 1/2 green Spider creature tokens with reach onto the battlefield.
6B: Target opponent loses 1 life for each Spider you control.
    3/5

    --------------------------------

    United Resistance (?) 1RR
    Sorcery
Escalate 1 (Pay this cost for each mode chosen beyond the first.)

    Choose one or more -
    * Target player discards all cards in his or her hand, then draws that many cards.
    * United Resistance deals 4 damage to target creature.
    * United Resistance deals 3 damage to target opponent.

Not a fan of a spider deck but I definitely like United Resistance. Finally another red card with the rebellious tune I love.

Keep in mind its very similar to time stop without being a time walk- you could already use time stop to erase a mess of valakut triggers and unresolved spells. So it sits between mindbreak trap and time stop in regards to finality

I would have this alongside Time Stop, since there will be a time where I want to stop a combat and/or downright surprise my opponent by ending his turn during his upkeep :3

Just do it. If people can have both Teferi, Temporal Archmage and Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir in the same deck, I don't see why can't you have more than one version of a commander either.

Green for Doubling Season, white to fetch enchantments, planeswalker via Call the Gatewatch and of course Ajani Steadfast, blue for Teferi, Temporal Archmage and proliferate. Bant seems to be the best color for superfriends still.

Is 3/2 a theme for the Eldrazi in this block? What's the meaning behind it?
3/2 is a sizable token that still dies to Zombie tokens (at 2/2).

That makes sense! Although I'm sure zombies can win with number even if they are 1/1, but you are right about defeating the Horrors.

If you want something more than combat, then Gisela is a very good choice. Not only you can play good amount of spell-sling with her, she is also very political in a group game. Her ability to reduce all damage done to you allows many shenanigans.
