    Example: Zof Consumption

Ruling says, "If an effect puts a double-faced card onto the battlefield, it enters with its front face up. If that front face can’t be put onto the battlefield, it doesn’t enter the battlefield."

So if I blink a modal land like Zof Consumption, it just stays in exile?

How I miss the old style land art, where you see serenity instead of drama.

Thx! So best case scenario is to win one of the two, so you can recast repeatedly eh.

Krark, the Thumbless/Sakashima of a Thousand Faces

    Sakashima copies Krark.

If I cast a spell, two coin flip will happen. If I win a flip while losing the other, I presume I copt the spell (which gets send to the stack) while the original spell get send back to my hand?

And if I win both flips, I copy the spell twice, but lose the original spell?

Aesi could still be from Kaldheim - maybe they just didn't mention it because the set isn't out yet. A mostly ocean-covered plane fits the Viking theme, and between the name in the flavor text and the pictures of the "Cosmo Serpent" miniature we have, it'd be weird if he was from another plane altogether (although I guess it's not impossible).

Imoti not being from Amonkhet was a bit of a surprise to me.

Overall, I appreciate that they do these little bios, but especially the info on new characters from unknown planes are a bit too bland and limited for my tastes. They probably do it this way to not write themselves into corners, but I still wish they'd include a few more specifics about their planes here and there.

I agree that Aesi could still be from Kaldheim since seafaring is a major part of their culture. Imoti could still be from Amonkhet, since the lore didn't say she isn't. She might be from a distant past, before Bolas.

For 9 mana you don’t even get creatures as well?

I think that's what Promise of Tomorrow is for.

White mythics are disappointing. It's as if the developers want to repeat the same old chant numerous times, thinking it'd make the song more powerful or interesting, rather than creating new, innovative work.

    Wow that's a nerf Bruse

They should do a green red commander that gives a double strike

Nerfed how? It applies DS to every equipped/enchanted creature you control.

I like Hullbreacher’s design, but a part of me wishes that this had been a white card. First Opposition Agent bled a bit of White’s rule-making and arguably has a better effect than White would get. Then this card does a thing that White should be doing, namely locking/slowing down and disrupting attempts to get ahead. They both even have Flash, which really encroaches on White’s slice of pie when connected to a tax effect.

Hell, even red seem to work better with Hullbreacher than blue. Given blue's dominance in EDH, why is WotC of all people giving blue ramping?

"Of all the sisters, only Liesa sought to understand her enemies and, in so doing, mitigate their evil. With her knowledge, she reasoned the monsters could be fought more effectively and bargained with the foul to do good."

Either Liesa saw hope in the fallen ones, or simply want to use/negotiate them, either way she was the only Angel who tried to understand both sides, and was killed because of it. In the end, Liesa's murderer and two of her sisters fell harder than most, the irony is palpable.

It's also interesting that Liesa's Flight of Dusk works as support for the other three Flights, instead of having a main purpose (or perhaps that is it).

I mean Avacyn was cool with it until she made a deal with a demon lord and that does seem a bit far depending on the deal. And Avacyn didn't fall, she was "pushed" by being corrupted unwillingly.

I used fall symbolically, as in "fall from grace", "fall from her role/virtue".

And honestly? Avacyn was a newcomer, an intruder on a culture's system, created by an arrogant, omnipotent vampire who no longer remember what it's like to be mortal, to be WITH mortal. It's certainly easier to rule a world by dividing it into mere good and bad, and abolish all the grey. Privilege of the powerful, but hardly sensible.

I refuse to play with anyone who uses this card. It's extremely detrimental to allow such card to be printed in a format with majority of the players being casual. WTF was they thinking? Mana Crypt is already eating its way into the format, now this???

Thank you. Now while we're on the topic: If I mutate Dirge Bat onto a non-black creature, I presume I can then destroy a creature with protection from black?
