path to exile - which is prolly the only reason to run white in the first place (besides better sb) but even timely reinforcements is better.

I have some cards with me that I think might work with mill. What do you guys think of undead alchemist haunting echoes porphyry nodes and circu, dimir lobotomist?

competetively: nodes could see slight play, but i still think theres lots of other cards that outshines it. rest are trash dont play them ever. you can get away with it once maybe cause no1 would expect it - then youre just gonna be THAT guy and everyone will know. online you could get away with it easier, but youd probably also get stomped harder.

casual: go for it. build that stuff. everyone loves the mill guy in casual games.

ive not yet lost a single best of 3 vs burn to this day. and ive lost less than 5 games total out of at least 200+ paper games. ive tested both scry and both kinda lifegain lands and neither does any good. emeria is alot of the time just an endgame threat that the opponent straight up loses if it comes to it, so they have to play around it or risk more to end the game faster. Ive GQ my own lands more than enemies. fetching mistveil is crucial in so many matches that i feel if you didnt play GQ you need to play fetches. if i have to get rid of emeria it would be for mistveil. i did try with 4 mistveil, and had decent experience - to the point i didnt feel like needing to GQ my own lands to find it, but in the grindy games like BGx emeria is needed badly, and wouldnt cut it.

I did test it. And every time i was guttet that it wasnt a GQ. Im not sure what kinda list youre running, but if you need firewalker in your 75, id say we should just agree to disagree - not even gonna bother =)

I feel the only reason to not run emeria is because it comes in tapped. though cutting will open up to some more nonplains lands, which is cool, i still thinks its better than any other land that i can think of. Temples and lifegainlands seems like a terrible idea/budget version made by players that have no clue how to opperate the deck. The only reason you can afford to run taplands in this deck is if they do something as powerful as mistveil and emeria. and id say no more than 4-5 taplands in total, else you might as well play something else. The deck prays on aggrodecks, and playing taplands means that youll get run over if you get too many.

The "extra" turn you get from potentially blocking (since the low creature count if theres no crab, this is gonna take some of the saved removal in their hand) is a turn where you couldve played a card that milled. meaning in the end the result will be the same, except youre a turn later in the game. so unless youre running orbs the total effect an augur would have is whole whooping 1 mill(inform of their natural draw)+ ofc that chance if its a combo deck they will get another turn to hopefully combo off, since you didnt mill a wincon.

only if they search before you actually flip him and use him in your turn. as i stated - theres no cards youd want to put in mill in this set.

@ Pulp_Fiction - I tried out Gemstone Mine and always liked it. The thing is I found that borderposts do the job much better and stick around for longer.

I'm not sure how I feel about Shriekmaw but it's a solid card and deals with a lot of threats we have a hard time with so I can't say it's too bad. I apologize if someone's already asked but.. in a heavy suspend style deck why not include Nihilith? I'm not partial to the card but some like it and have had success.

As for the deck in general I like the idea of being able to dump your hand quickly and having threats come into play after you've balanced but the biggest weakness I see is that you're 100% reliant on creatures to win the game for you. What I'm saying is there's no planeswalkers to give you a slight edge and you'll quickly find yourself in a bad spot if you ever see Ensnaring Bridge in your meta. The same is true of Ghostly Prison. You have to sideboard cards to hate on them and only so many will do this.

You're also weak to enemy planeswalkers because your only way to kill them is through creature damage. I wonder how your list does against a list with 4 Liliana? Suspenders have haste I know but against some other walkers your creatures might not be good enough??

Also, I'm curious to see if you can still pull a win out under Blood Moon. It seems like such a long shot. 24 mana sources + 4 SSG seems right to me. Maybe the issue is that you have a lot of lands that hurt you, and Gemstone Mine is only good for 3 mana. I run 8 posts, 16 lands, and 4 SSG and I've been loving it so I think you just got unlucky with lands.

I will say this though, I'm glad you have the courage to try what you think is best. If we could all keep testing like this maybe this deck will be a force to be reckoned with some day.

Any chance of uploading/linking to your current build?

What is our thoughts on Delay? Seems allright for the Combo-Versions.

tried it out a bit - it feels a bit like remand, but you dont have to worry about it next turn, you do however not draw that spicy extra card. Never been a fan of remand no matter how good it actually is. think it depends alot on what it is you want to counter, and also whether you need that ekstra card.

    4 Ghost Quarter
    2 Mistveil Plains
    11 Plains
    3 Linvalla Keeper of Silence
    4 Martyr of Sands
    4 Ranger of Eos
    4 Serra Ascendant
    4 Squadron Hawk
    1 Weathered Wayfarer
    4 Path to Exile
    2 Proclamation of Rebirth
    3 Wrath of God
    4 Ghostly Prison
    3 Runed Halo
    Sideboard
    4 Surgical Extraction
    3 Entreat the Angels

wouldnt run suppression fields - if anything that does almost the same at that cost, id run blind obedience.

feel like they makes the bg matches not as much as luck when it happens, and it closes the most games vs anyone playing some kind of burn. id say halos do alot of the same stuff, but have the ability to say planeswalker (gideon / lili) or creatures (fav would be eidolon, not to mention twinpests and infectcreatures) as well. feels a bit like extra leylines, never free however cheaper to cast when drawn.

Played in the gp cph grandprix and went 10-4-1 and 71st total.

    day 1
    infect 2-0
    .jund 2-0
.? 2-1 (cant remember this match at all no clue from my notes other than i lost 1 game, will update if i remember)
    .affinity 2-0
.tribal zoo 2-1 (lost to geist + rampager (wrathed away) then another geist + rampager)
    .infect 2-0
.Pure bg 0-2 (first game he went to 2 with a confidant in play then procededed to i ***** you not i lost count after the 10th time he revealed land on top - 2nd game i didnt get my 4th land and ended with sitting with 2 wraths 1 heliod 2 lieges and a leyline
.URtwin - 1-2 ( nothing but topdraws when he had no cards in hand twin into cryptic natural draws no scry etc)
    .burn - 2-1 ( no martyr/leyline in game 2)

    day 2
.seito grixis twin 1-2 (saw nothing but 2 visions and LoK in game 1 before i won but assumed it was twin. 2nd game he had no combo but managed to burn me out before i got a leyline or martyr. 3rd game i got nothing to get me to stay alive and he had gifts in and went for gravetitan keranos snaps and command, game ended faster after that)
    .burn 2-0
.burn 2-1 (mulled game 1 and ended up having nothing that would build me any kind of defense the first 4 turns)
    .grixis control 2-0
.nayazoo 1-1 ( i had him on leathal in game 3 (needed only 1 extra turn in time) but eventhough judges was called on him for slowplay severaltimes he set down the speed as soon as they left, he had turn 4 kill and had removal to spear for kami and prison as well in game 2.)
.merfolk 1-2 (was overwhelmed by creatures without having any kind of answer for them in game 1. game 3 i was stuck on 3 lands with 2 wraths in hand with martyr and kami and hardcasted procs on overduty to try and buy me time but no luck :/)

any win i got was prettymuch walk in the park and never really felt like i was under pressure. didnt meet tron or bloom so that might be the success as well.

shout out and thx to the people bringing this deck around, and letting me leech off of their experience! might post the deck one of the next days.

decklist edit for previous post if anyone is interested:
    4 martyr
    4 serra
    1 wrath
    4 hawks
    1 soul warden
    1 kami
    3 procs
    4 ranger
    2 runed halo
    3 leyline
    3 ghostly prison
    1 O-ring
    1 B-light
    4 path

    11 plains
    2 emeria
    4 GQ
    1 cavern
    4 flagstones
    2 mistveil

    sb:
    1 stony silence
    2 GWliege
    2 wrath
    1 ghostly prison
    2 blind obedience
    1 relic of progenitus
    2 heliod
    1 crucible
    2 runed halo
    1 celestial purge

Can you recall how your jund match up went? I have more trouble with jund than I do titan or tron. I suppose the mainboard leylines help some.

had leylines in both games and they prettymuch nulified all his cards. and i had removal to his oozes and olivia. i find in general that leyline is what makes you push over the edge to win the bg matchups. they barely have any card advantage, and leyline gives them plenty of dead cards - especially making a keeping hand terrible.
