Listen, we've had this conversation already about other products Wizards has released. Everyone on this website is an extreme liberal. Two generations are brainwashed extreme liberals. If you argue against extreme liberalism you will be shouted down. You will be hunted to the point of losing your job or worse. There are all kinds of news stories like that and it's disgusting.
You have to understand the rational arguments are over. Just enjoy the societal collapse. Arguing against the ideology behind this product is a massive waste of time.
In the context of a product available for purchase that you disagree with there is only one solution of not buying the product.
    Solution: Don't buy the product.

    You’re projecting.

Yup. There is also insufficient understanding in the post as to what the word Liberalism actually means.

Wait, WotC is doing a great thing for Black girls, and your first thought was "what about me?" Yikes.

At this point it's kinda bread and butter to the MO of some of these regular naysayers.

All we can do is speak out, block, and/or report.

There's a persistent pattern here of particular users always going out of their way to problematize greater inclusivity for marginalized folks and folx.

Are there any good online MtG communities that don't put up with this kinda stuff that one can join?

The Vorthos community on this here website is still pretty small, and I'd be willing to join other sites and help build a Vorthos/Timmie community there if its user base is a little more progressive than MtGsalv.

When being called a racist is worse than engaging in racism...well, no wonder why we still have problems <shrug>

posted a message on [KHM] Hagi Mob and Kaya's Onslaught— Shiro Games previews
Kaya literally gets paid to off things. That's her schtick. Usually the stuff she hunts are undead but I believe the MtG story largely handled her entrance into this role in a believable, understandable way, aside from not explaining where her other friends got to.

If this card depicts the story's end, that's cool. She still has a long journey ahead of her as of now in the actual narrative, and Vorinclex absolutely has already shown himself to be a powerful threat, not easily defeated. WotC stopped putting story orderings on the cards so as make the story a little less predictable whilst still depicting the story on the cards.

You cannot not spoil the story through the cards given the necessities of the WotC spoiler season and set release, though if this card depicts one of the story's latter scenes then it is strange to spoil the card as early as it was.

Vorinclex is an antagonist that unlike other threats, has to, at the very least, be removed from Kaldheim, and terminated at most- for the sake of the multiverse, and Kaldheim.

    Phyrexia. Need I say more?

For the story to proceed, there needs to be development and increased stakes. Characters have to be able to die.

Perhaps now is Vorinclex's turn. If so, great. If MtG as a game lives long enough, Kaya also is nigh-almost guaranteed to one day die in the story. This is normal. I miss Gideon, but I loved the way in which the story team offed him. Dack- not so much.

People can wait patiently for the story to proceed, as all stories do.

I enjoyed the Kay and Niko articles, though admittedly in the Niko article it was difficult to keep track of everyone's names at times.

Edit: is it just me or is it weird that there is made no mention of Rat nor Teyo?

As much as I'd like some elements of the War of the Spark Novels retconned, I feel as though the sudden shift here into the new story feels a little jarring. While I'm glad that Rat is not on the plane with Kaya I think the story could have explained better how the trio parted ways for a time, and acknowledged that the three of them still had a close working relationship.

I like Rat as a planebound resident of Ravnica, and as a character I like Teyo even more and would prefer they remain in the lore somehow, and in Teyo's case become even more active. I however suspect that WotC are still trying to figure out how what elements to keep or throw away from the Novels.

I think this a weakness of having outside authors come in and work on stuff without being really able to talk to each other. They definitely had a lot smoother transitions as to why the characters where going to certain planes when it was done in house (like setting up Ixalan as far back in Zendikar).

So far we doesn't know where/when she got paid (my gut says Ashiok or Tibalt if we are revealed who it is) and so that leaves some time unaccounted for. I'm guessing Kaya and Teyo (wth Rat) went back to Ravnica to re-group with the gatewatch, a bit of time passed and Kaya got this job and (said in the text) figured it be a quick easy hero job.

That makes a lot of sense. I don't know if anyone from WotC actively ever goes on here to discretely look for feedback but I hope that this would be a weakness that they can ameliorate in the future.

    A very powerful WB Planeswalker.

I'd even go so far as to argue that as a planeswalker it's as powerful or even stronger card than Elspeth, Sun's Champion.

That ultimate is game-breaking if built around.

I too love the mohawk, though I kinda wished she was dual-wielding axes like the promotional art.

She might also want gloves. Even at a balmy - 15 degrees celsius bare hands and metal don't mix well.

I would like to know how the forum intends to implement the policy on 'Inclusion in the MTG Salvation Community'.

Edit: There's been a lot of flaming and snide remarks made by users on the very principles this policy is based upon and I'm tired of seeing our threads devolve just because somebody doesn't like seeing a Black women be the face of a Viking-inspired set.

You say that and then we get multiple people saying that they're tired of seeing so many black people. So idk maybe it's not as crazy as you like to pretend it is
He wanted more Latin representation. He's correct for calling out WOTC for thinking representation is only about extremes. That said, Kaya is a Planeswalker, not a native of this plane, she can appear anywhere. And he was called out for suggesting representation is mutually exclusive, which it isn't. That was the flaw in his argument, not "racism."

Except...that wasn't what he said in full. And I think you know that.

It is perfectly reasonable to want more Latino characters and to express that desire. What is unacceptable is to then blame that lack of Latino representation on WotC's deliberate choice to try to represent more Black folks and folx better. It's not mutually exclusive.

I actually am a Canadian conservative queer, but what you and many similar commentators are communicating here isn't really conservatism, nor is it an argument grounded in logic, or good faith.

    Its just rage mate.

There's nothing wrong with Kaya being the lead of this set. She's well-costumed and equipped for the plane. I adore her.

It is awesome to have a human planeswalker like Nico, who can better represent Non-binary folx. Nonbinary robots and monsters are hard to relate to.

We have a Latino Planeswalker. His name is Teyo. Teyo and Huatli will not be the last planeswalkers to better represent Latin American ethnicities.
    Teyo info

We have a new, red-headed, Scandinavian-looking Elven Planeswalker who is native to the plane of Kaldheim.

Dear MtGSalvation users: Do you see that REPORT option below users' posted comments? If a fellow user posts discriminatory content, engages in flaming, or is otherwise being disruptive in some other way. Report it. Make it clear what is acceptable in our community, and what it is not.

We don't have to engage. We can even ignore. If you're a forum lurker, but haven't joined yet, Feel free to sign up and respectfully participate.

Help us make our gaming community even better.
