I am really motivated to want to make a black token edh. I already have a friend with a very good Endrek Sahr, so I'd like to make either Merrow-Gnawer or Ghoulcaller Ghisa. My fairly competitive playgroup varies between games of 1-4 people. We have a couple of heavy counter decks (Talrand), a couple of aggro decks (Krenko) and mostly midrange w/green decks. We are alright with attrition strategies, infinite combos and unaffordable cards. What should I build between those two?
Is it possible that the Nephilim could one day become honorary legendary creatures for commander? They are supposed to be one-of-a-kind and I know a ton of people who would be okay with that.
What is your opinion on mass land destruction in EDH?
What about one turn kills?
If there is something you'd like to see more of in EDH what would it be?
I wish it was haste instead of vigilance, but I guess we have enough hasters in red. Also are there that many 5cmc+ creatures that we wanna be casting in boros? I can think of a few but this card seems to have an identity crisis between being aggressive or a midrange beater.
Humility is easily the most toxic card you could play. Also Knowledge Pool + Arcane Laboratory effects = Nobody can cast spells. Win by having everyone either concede or deck out
It depends on the situation. If you do play it makes up for the tempo loss with massive card advantage. If you needed to answer something it's the lesser of two options but it's more a proactive card than a reactive one that is why you might feel like your spending 5 mana to do nothing.
If there is a card that's gonna be banned it's most likely gonna be PoK. I'm not saying it isn't, I'm just saying it's played in a specific color combination so it should be seen less, but U/G are powerhouse colors so I'm not surprised. I don't personally have an issue with it, but I know since its release it has been complained about in EDH. That and Deadeye Navigator.
Library of Alexandria doesn't need to be banned however. There are lands that can do worse specifically in commander and nowhere else.
My only problem with it is the price tag. I'm still in need of a Gaea's Cradle, The Abyss and a Moat. But LoA is on a whole different level, while remaining banned. Unbanned it would be even worse. Is it okay to officially allow proxies?
I like the feedback in this thread. You guys are right about Crucible, I'm probably just overthinking it. Things that you can "accidentally" do just irritate me more than pieces of a puzzle that are actually set up. You can destroy all of someone's lands (Gradually or quickly with Azusa), fetch forever or some other weird ability a land has, but it's no worse than Armageddon or Ravages of War though so I'm really complaining about nothing.
Sway of the Stars is definitely a little too easy for people who want "dumb" or "chaos" games to happen so I can see where that's coming from. The people who actually want to accomplish the same effect will go through the lengths of playing multiple cards to achieve the effect.

Bans are fine in general as they are for now. Nothing is really breaking the format, Prophet of Kruphix is nuts but it's only played in U/G so I always see it occasionally. Consecrated Sphinx and Iona, Shield of Emeria are completely lame but if you are playing a multiplayer game people should be able to make correct judgments about what the threat is.
I feel like Crucible of Worlds combo is kind of really lame. It's the kind of thing that you can "woops, strip mine all your lands ahaha" do and I'm not a big fan. Also I don't like to hear that Crucible should be a staple in every deck because it really shouldn't have to be. Life from the Loam is fine but anything that synergizes with Crucible ends up being cancer.
Unbanning Protean Hulk opens up a whole bunch of really lame insta-win combos, it's completely fair to keep that banned. The only things I think that should be unbanned are Library of Alexandria and Sway of the Stars. Library doesn't just win you the game, and we're already playing games with Timetwister and Mana Crypt so barrier to entry isn't an excuse either. Sway of the Stars HAS to be built around otherwise it doesn't just win the game and is not nearly on the same level of simplicity as Worldfire
I play Omnath pretty religiously and have been for about 2 years.
So far I can win pretty easily and compete against most decks. The ones I struggle the most against are token strats and counter decks aren't too much of an issue so Hall of Gemstone and Leyline of Lifeforce are cut for more ramp for the time being. Ugin, the Spirit Dragon is making his way in at some point to deal with token strats (really easily too, cutting Vigor.) I REALLY want to put in From Beyond but I'm not running a crazy amount of eldrazis to make the second ability more useful. Greenwarden of Murasa might find his way in since his ability is too useful.
White isn't strong enough to hold on it's own in my opinion. I had both Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite and Eight-and-a-half-tails, while both were very powerful they were too fragile to hold on their own against much more consistent decks. Avacyn, Angel of Hope and Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker are the only mono-white generals I've seen that hold that consistency but aren't very versatile because they have only one way you can really build them.

Crib Swap
Kaalia of the Vast
Storm Crow
started getting really spooked at the end there
I'm in the same boat. Chains of Mephistopheles, Gaea's Cradle, The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale, Timetwister, and Candelabra of Tawnos among other things like a Mana Crypt for all my decks. Sheesh that is way too much money on singular magic cards.
