Is it me, or does the card feel like it's missing "if able" behind "each opponent chooses a different nonland card from among them"? It keeps giving me the impression the game will just stall infinitely if there are more opponents than nonland cards because the opponent has to choose a different nonland card, but is unable to, but since the text doesn't state it, we'll all be stuck waiting for the player to choose among no options (technically can't pick nothing, since the choosing of a card is mandatory).
Interesting point. What if - even unlikely - there are more lands in the top 10 than players at the table? Needs errata, doesn't it?

Really? I routinely find myself in games of 8+ players. But our Meta be loving them big games where we gotta rearrange the tables so that we can all sit and see each other. I do at least 1 or 2 games with 10+ people in it. This card is going to be so good.
Cause there's absolutely no reason to play this over original emrakul in modern/legacy. I thought that was obvious to everyone. New emrakal's only advantage is literally the fact it costs 4-6 mana less than the original. Not even tron wants to touch this over newlamog. Please point to a deck other than tron that isn't cheating Emrakul into play(in which case, it being cheaper is irrelevant) Don't even say 12post. The deck is bad. Standard is the only constructed format where it'll see play if it does. About EDH, It's absolutely ridiculous that you're even talking about viability of a card in a format where viability is almost entirely determined on a meta-by-meta basis due to inconsistent power levels. Are you saying something isn't unplayable garbage simply because it could be played in edh? This would be the only reason you would bring up edh in the first place, otherwise viability in edh is irrelevant to calling a card unplayable garbage. Talking about power levels in edh in a vacuum is completely pointless.
It really just sounds like you don't like the card.
The ability to control someone else's turn is big. Especially because you can go through their sideboard. If the tactical implications of that escape you...
Also, 13/13 flying and trample. What's going to stand up to all that in the air?
What the new Emrakul has over the original is tactical options. The old Emrakul is MTG biggest creature that pretty much wins you the game through combat. You swing and it's over. New Emrakul allows you to not only sabotage someone else's turn but get vital information for the game after. The only way that kind of effect will have no kind of impact on a game is if you're pretty far behind.
For you to sit there and say that the card is completely unplayable, when we haven't gotten our hands on it yet or any of the other cards in EMN to start making real strategies with, is ludicrous.
I think the problem people are having with this is that it sounds like, "Why play a card that wins you the game, when I can look at my opponents sideboard instead." Old Emrakul is lightning bolt. New Emrakul is shock. Play lightning bolt.
Its times like this I wish I had a herald. I been gone for awhile. Finally got a computer again. Its so good to have oodles of information at my fingertips once more. A smartphone just wasn't a good enough replacement for it and my online presence shrunk to a shadow of its former glory. Did all kinds of fancy things happen in my absence?
At the prerelease I got to play 4 games of EDH. The best one was a 4-player game. I am looking across the table and I see Kaalia the Vast, Rafiq the Many, and Marchesa. I was really nervous. Its just me and my Sliver Overlord and I look like a deer in headlights. I just have to get to 5 mana as soon as possible and hope its one of each color. Luckily my opening hand had a 1-drop sliver and a Manaweft.
The first person to attack was Kaalia and he dropped a Gisela into play, oh the horror!! I played the Overlord on time and didn't get attacked, I went and got the Quick Sliver. After that I just kept tutoring and dropping them on the turn just before mine. I attacked and reduced both my opponents, one had already died to 3 life.
Cyclonic Rift overload!!! Rafiq sent some minion. I drew a card, played to slivers, discarded all the Legendary slivers to get down to 7 cards. Got attacked by Akroma at Rafiq's behest. Then I played Patriarch's bidding. Use the vindicate sliver to destory Gisela and attacked for the win!! By the time I got in line to pay for the prerelease Jeskai had sold out. Such an expensive victory.
Eh, people like babies. Always asking about them. I dunno why, they are babies its not like they do much.
I had off both New Year's Eve and Day, so I did some deck building and that's about it. I tried sleeping but I kept waking up at my regular time without the alarm being set, that is so annoying.

Sure Apocalypse was dangerous, but since being enrolled in school he's really calmed down. But what about a mutant who's mutation is having 6 feet of extra skin? How is he a threat to humanity?
Its useless for standard so he should stay cheap, oh the fun I'll have with this guy. I was just thinking of getting Omnath, now I don't need to and I get a free maximum hand size as well.
I have learned something. People don't like it when you use an infinite storm combo to win. No wait, it was an arbitrarily large storm combo as I could have stopped it any time. So after I put about 1 billion copies of Brain Freeze on the stack...I decked everyone! I think they spent like 5 minutes trying to figure out how to stop the combo...and they couldn't. They were madder than hornets.
Although I am not sure if its that particular storm spell that was the problem, like if I used [CARD]Empty the Warrens{/CARD] would it have been ok? OR Dragonstorm...not that my deck would have a billion dragons in it but still.

I managed to get 2 Xenagods, 2 Karametras, and 2 Epharas. Most of them will be for trading. Actually pretty much all of them. Except maybe 1 Ephara...not sure yet.
