Sydri is too much of a typical "upgrade" of an old card. Alot of the esper players did not want another ARTIFACT based legendary.
This is why ALOT of esper players chooses Oloro to be the general for their deck, value while he's in the commandzone, nice stuff.
Not only that, sydris colors just gives her so many strong cards, it gets everything a karn deck would want and need, but imo
it will just look like and play like any other sharuum deck etc, maybe even more combo oriented.
I love Karn and i really enjoy the challenge of an colorless edh deck, there are quite alot of games where my deck "fizzles" but
when the engine gets going it can be quite nasty. My deck is more casual inspired atm, but i can put in some bad cards to make it
cutthroat, but i've yet done it.
My Nekusar deck can "combo" without infinite combos. You have to chain a bunch of cards together to kill the board, it's quite difficult to do since everybody plays blue in our group. It's nice to win with nekusar, it's not often i win with him because it's more of a casual deck, just keep drawing boys and girls! It's there to speed up games. You can have nekusar out, play memory jar, next turn, wheel into time spiral, wheel again, time warp, and try to wheel yet again. It's alot of work, but fun :).
