Very intrigued at Crackling Doom here. I never liked the increasing number of Path to Exiles to combat things that are not quite Boltable, but this looks really promising.
It is very similar to URw version, but with Tarmogoyf and more reactive cards and artifact hate in the board.
I'm not honestly not sure where he is getting to - especially with lack of Affinity nowadays. I suppose he knows something that I don't know.
Unfortunately I can't splash white as I'd need 3 Flooded Strands and a Sacred Foundry...I guess I'll be sticking to 2 Destructive Revelry instead. -Ideocl4st (I can't post linked quotes)
You're a silly goose, play other blue fetches and a hallowed fountain.
Goose Goose Goose...I'm a goose
Even still, Sacred Foundry would be better for playing around Choke but yeah I guess I could go with a Hallowed Fountain instead.
With GP Milan on the door step, this is where I am at right now. Obviously playing Twin again but did some slight adjustments to attack the metagame in a better way.
Put Keranos in place of Batterskull that was pulled out of SB.
So it's putting even less emphasis on tempo plan but focusing more on putting Dig Through Time online faster with an unexpected finisher.
I've been replacing Ancient Grudge with Destructive Revelry so that it helps with putting out as much damage as possible.
However, if we are not actively trying for a beatdown plan then I guess Tear part of the card is much better.
he only plays 1 Swiftspear, and 4 Dragon's Claws in the board, so I'm going to shut up about Dragon's Claw for now
However, He does take out a Spell Pierce and a Dragon's Claw in SB for 2 Electrickerys after 2nd match, but he mentions how Claws are necessary for MTGO meta.
Not that this matter for me - since my local meta has no burn (wheee), I can safely take them out of SB for now.
Like i said, I'm a Bogles player and have played against spellskite a lot of times. It can target spellskite but it won't attach to it and would just fizzle to the graveyard. I think you are the one who should ask a judge.
Spellskite's redirect effect will fizzle, as it is not allowed to change target of a spell/ability to an illegal target. (See Rule 114.6a). So Coronet will still attach to the original target and Spellskite's ability would have been paid for nothing.
Hey guys, I recently did quite well in a GPT and thought I'd write a tournament report in case anyone is interested. I went 4-0-1 in the swiss and won my first match in the top 8 then ID'ed and got first for the byes and some cash.
Hey, I'm the Tempo Twin player that you met on Round 2 Good to see a familiar report in MTG Salvation, and congrats on reaching top 4 as well.
Since Scapeshift decks around here are almost carbon copies of GP Minneapolis winning deck, it was very surprising to see maindeck Vendilion Cliques. One important thing you didn't mention in Game 1 was how you cast Vendilion Clique before casting Scapeshift. Even if we assume that I wasn't tapped out, you should have been able to find out that I was bluffing or put my counter back into library if I was holding just one.
Also, seeing how you have maindeck Lightning Bolts, I think Cliques can serve as finishers even in Game 1.
In Game 2, I was denying your third blue mana to prevent you from casting Cryptic Command which would bounce my Blood Moon - seeing how you responded with Vendilion Clique and Thrun, the Last Troll to beat me down, I shouldn't have been too protective of Blood Moon.
By the time I landed the second Blood Moon to feel safe from your Cryptic Command, you had too much mana and cards for me to combo out, and there was no way I could win the race. The fact that I was only on a single blue mana source worsened the problem.
I really didn't think much of SB Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir that you showed me at the time, but as most Twin players will side out their Dismembers and Flame Slashs, it should be very hard to kill nevertheless if it resolves.
Wish you a good luck in GP, and I hope I get to have my vengeance one day.
Went 6-3 at my PTQ today. Beat Ad Naus, two Twin decks, UWR Control, Burn, and Jund, and lost to two more Twin decks and Melira Pod.
Did the Burn deck you beat had maindeck Eidolon of the Great Revels?
I found it very hard to beat them when they started to show up in maindecks of two people in my small LGS.
Just guessing, but with all the 'free will' with DRS out...I suspect Dredge, reamiator, gifts, living end...etc.. will be much more present, at least initially....Crypt or Relic sounds key to me...personally I like drawing cards, so Relic is my vote (at least at this point)..
Yeah, Relic replaces itself, and can do damage to a graveyard slowly over time as well. If you want to nuke only your opponent's yard, and you're playing black as we've been discussing, you could also consider Nihil Spellbomb if you don't want to be forced to keep mana open to interact with the graveyard (but I would only do this if I was playing Snapcasters; otherwise Relic is just better).
Hmm, you both have a good point there. I actually forgot about draw a card clause in Relic of Progenitus's 2nd mode. Since I too like to draw cards (surprise, surprise) I'll stick with Relic for now.
While Nihil Spellbomb looks like a best of both worlds, I won't be playing Bitterblossom just yet, especially with how impossible it is to get it around here
I don't like to derail from current discussion, but I was wondering whether we still need Relic of Progenitus or not
We no longer have a reason to exile our cards in response to whatever DRS did with our cards, and exile all cards in all graveyards hit our Grim Lavamancers and Snapcaster Mage pretty hard too.
Is it safe to assume that we can either drop graveyard hate completely like Danteh's list or can we use Tormod's Crypt instead?
Keep this a secret in Twin thread, but with all these turbulence in Modern banlist, I think I should try Legacy before Twin gets to be the next on the chopping block.
Since I always loved combo, I chose this deck as my next deck to build...but I'm not sure where I should start with.
I'm sure we all have asked wondered about this at one point or the other when going up against those pesky blue mages...

Tron falls apart without Urza lands. Everything else does look fine though.

Bah, RUG Twin people is going to have a field day today But I guess it's about time that RUG Twin gets some love.
Though I wonder why he still decided against Destructive Revelry for Nature's Claim. Nature's Claim seems better suited in a combo/control-oriented version rather than a Tarmogoyf beatdown version.
Edit :
Land Changes:
-1 Desolate Lighthouse, -2 Island, -4 Flooded Strand, -1 Sacred Foundry
<-> +1 Hinterland Harbor, +1 Forest, +1 Wooded Foothills, +4 Misty Rainforest, +1 Breeding Pool
Maindeck Changes:

Sideboard Changes:

You still have Day 2

I generally go with most recent but well-placed list, so this list that place 12th at Star City Open seems to be a good start.
The question is, are there any other cards that needs to be bought so that I can tune the deck around depending on meta?
