this card to me seems good, but for some reason at the same time my gut is telling me not to play it, that theres something 'bad' about it, and i cant figure out what it is.

there is no good white devotion deck rite now. with born of the gods coming out, do you think there will be a white devotion deck that will be as good and popular as the black and blue one? if so what do you think the list will look like?

that list is close to what im thinking of. i tend to like to do my own stuff, get ideas from other decks and go off that. im thinking of a few less creatures then that one and more spells. the meta for my area is creature heavy so play sets of downfalls, ultimate price, doom blade and devour flesh. so im thinking:

    3 blood baron
    4 desecration demon
    2 obzedat

    2 elspeth

    4 downfall
    4 ultimate price
    4 doom blade
    4 devour flesh
    4 thoughtseize
    2 underworld connection
    2 duress

    25 land

ok how about this. is there any way to do black/white and splash for red for reckoner and anger the gods? i do love slaughter games and assemble the legion in my side board but i can live with out those. anger is just a good board wipe against alot of decks. or is black/white without the red a better option? once born of the gods comes out then ill pbly def. switch to white/black with drown in sorrow coming out

if the decks that are being played are the same decks being played at the gp's then the atmosphere its being played in doesent matter. winning against it is winning against wether its at a gp, fnm, or pro tour

the top 15ish every week are regular PTQ and grand prix players. 6 or 7 of those top 8 at grand prixs and a couple have gone to pro tour, didnt do super well but just making it says something. theyve been playing for 15+ years, id say their pretty good players playing pretty good decks

so then how does it beat the net deck monoblue, monoblack, esper, and the annoying g/w aggro? if BWR is tier 3 then what does that say for the decks it beats every week?

yes, and downfall to, love that card. 3 color can be awkward yeah but there are alot of other 3 color decks that get played alot more then BWR does. jund and junk are very popular in my area but when you mention them playing BWR they give you the stink eye. its be only changing one color in their deck but opening up alot better options

i love love love playing against control. playing against a good control deck being played by a good player will teach you alot in your own game. it shows you what you do wrong, how to play your cards and when to play them. if you want to learn how to win and be a good player and strategist, play against a control deck

ive been in stnd for awhile now. BWR has always hung around some, never been the top deck to have but always stood a chance against everything. rite now, i believe, BWR is very good. with the combination of all the good removal in all three colors of the deck, really good dominating creatures in all three colors, the deck is very balanced and stream line. ive now been playing BWR myself for 2 weeks. ive placed in the top 3 at my FNM both weeks against 30+ other ppl, many that do grand prixs and PTQs often. they all play the top decks rite now, monoblue, monoblack and of course all the different combinations of blue control decks. the only deck i had slight trouble with was the monoblue, but i have beaten it. so my question is why arent more ppl playing BWR? it seems really really good rite now

  • posted a message on Why Boros Charm isn't as good as you think it is
yes its true only 2 of the effects of the card are really awesome, but if you think about it, almost all the other charms only have 2 highly used effects. like azorius charm, pbly the most used charm, only two effects are ever used, sending a creature to the top of the library and card draw, the lifelink is hardly ever used. boros charm is still very good. ive literally had control players scoop on their turn 4 when they hit a verdict and i responded with a boros charm. of course thats also back when hell rider was around

as others have said, it loses the +1/+0 after combat is over. the only way it would keep the boost is if the card says counters, then it stays until the creature dies.
