Hmm, Storm in Modern seems so awkward since I'm playing Storm in Legacy (at the moment DDFT). I should give it a try, maybe I like the deck but I doubt it since I hate combo decks where you aren't sure to kill the opponent when you start to combo off.

    But thanks for the tip!

    Greetings,

It may seem strange that I ask for a deck advice since I have UR Delver, BG Death Cloud and the pool for Loam based decks but I'm no longer happy with those decks.

My question is: is there a deck out there which draws a lot of cards or generates a ton of CA? Bob is not enough for me and I don't like the Uwr Controll deck. The only deck which goes in this way is Gifts and UW Tron, but maybe I missed some decks. I would be very glad, if someone can help me.

    Greetings,
    Kathal

Heyh there purklefluff. First I have to say that I play a straight BG Deathcloud deck and not BGw.

A 6 drop is nearly never a problem to cast. Via the Sakura Tribe-Elder you have the ramp and the Garruk makes the rest. Furthermore you normally play a high "true" land count, e.g. I play 24 lands and only 4 fetchies, so actually 20 lands, which tap for mana. Because of this it is normally no problem to cast a Titan post Death Cloud. I regularly cast a Death Cloud for X > 3 and can still cast my Titans (1 Grave Titan and 1 Primeval Titan) in the next 2-3 Turns.

The problem with these hatebears is, that they come down to late. A Mindcensor isn't good on turn 3 or 4 in my opinion and most of the time you want to cast other stuff like Finks, Garruks or ramp. You can try it, but I don't like the idea at all.

    Greetings,
    Kathal

PS: At the moment I'm testing the Bow of Nylea. No idea how good it is but with Finks it seems pretty nice. Furthermore I wanna test Vraska the Unseen. Has somebody tested her once and can give me feedback about her?

But still he mainly plays so much discard against Combo decks and Sculler is the same against those decks. Maybe I miss something but Sculler seems better for me.

4 Castigate, 4 Inquisition of Kozilek and 4 Thoughtseize.

    Greetings,
    Kathal

Edit says: The local network is pretty crappy said someone in the twitch chat.

Edit 2 says: But I'm wondering why he played Castigate over Tidehollow Sculler, since the sculler has a body.

They have problems with the internet there, hence it has nothing to do with twitch.

PS: Love the BW Tokens list with 12 MD Discardspells Grin

He runs at least 3 Bolts main deck, because he casted 3 Bolts without PiF.

@SnackCakes(GM), I will try to answer your questions:

    1) The problem with 4 Seismics is, that if you ever draw a second one, it is a dead draw most of the time. Sure you can cycle it with the Lootings/ Lili but you need to have them.

    2) Blackleave Cliffs are pretty insane in this deck. You need untapped lands the first few turns to play discard, looting, loam and many more cards. If you don´t play the Cliffs and instead you play fetchlands, you would take at least 3 damage from it, which could be prevented. The main point of this is, that you have no lifegain in this deck. Every point of damage hurts and because of the Manabase you are already dealing yourself enough damage. So a dual, which don´t hurt you is pretty insane.

    3) The fourth Looting + 2x, but I wouldn´t play the Young Pyromancer, if you want to play him, you need all 4.

@mschu99, in my opinion the main reason to play Naya Loam is Knight of the Reliquary. He is just insane, how big it can get. The Aven Mindcensor and Leonin Arbiter interaction is in my opinion to cute. It is pretty slow and you have to give up the Fetchland Manabase, through it is constant possible to play the Seismic Assault on Turn 3. You can see it at the Modern Death and Taxes and GW Hatebears deck, that only with a full commitment on this strategy it is possible to screw the opponents manabase in the early and midgame.

@cloudman, Didn't even realize that Tamanoa exists. It looks interesting but kind of to slow. Against Zoo you would need it on Turn 3. If you want to play it in the SB you have to play it as an 4 off to get it constant. Furthermore is pretty bad against other match-ups. Additional an Anger of Gods or Firespout is at that point most of the times better.

    Heyho,

I don´t think, that Faerie decks make us any problem. The reasons for it are, that they have most of the times only X/1 bodys and we are playing Flame Jab. So we have kind of a Goblin Sharpshooter against their deck. Furthermore counters are most of the time useless (unless you want to resolve a Seismic Assault, Young Pyromancer or a Liliana), because we have the amazing Loam Engine against them. I played with the classic Creatureless Jundversion against UR "Fae", which should be the most similar deck to the will be UBx Fae. Flame Jab and Loam was just gg against them Grin

I have a small question to the changes through the banlist upgrade. The DRS gave the players a mirage, that they need no more Graveyard hate. Do you think, that players will panik and slam tons of Graveyard Hate in the SB? DRS was nearly never a issue for me and there were not many players, which played more Hate in the Board.

I´m thinking, that the Naya Version got a great boost. The reason for that is, that the Knight is back in business of one of the biggest creatures in the format. Maybe I put the deck together and test it and report then here.

The Loam based decks were never populat (sadly) because many people can´t see, how amazing the deck is and how much fun it is to play with it.

    Sencerly,
    Kathal

PS: Sorry for my bad english.
