Also, this isn't really about a rude opponent, but is there any better feeling than wanting to split the last round of an FNM or pre-release, the other person refusing to, and then beating them? I don't think there is.

Some of us value our time differently. Some of us enjoy playing with something on the line, even if that is just a $7 dollar difference. If you get a little butthurt because $7 means a lot to you, that's on you

Lol, spoken like someone who has lost after refusing to split one to many times.

What's so bad about refusing to split then losing?

At least I know I earned whatever I got - even if it is less than what I would've been handed.
I've only split once - at a 2HG prerelease that has gone way past when I should've left and still had at least another hour, hour-30 before I could leave if we played it out. All of us had to be at work in the morning and the store owner wanted to close. He didn't pressure us at all, but was grateful when we came to him and said we were splitting.

There is nothing 'so bad' about it. Magic tournaments are full of players that come to play a 3-round tournament and go home after 2 if they win. They are completely adverse to risk because they don't make any money. Rubbing it in someone's face when they politely decline to split and end up losing the match is antisocial behavior of the first degree.

Played at an SCG Open in Oakland last year, and was playing against storm in the legacy event. We were on game 3, 1-1-0 I was on a homebrew mono blue control. I grabbed pithing needle from my side, thinking it might help to name Lion's Eye Diamond. Of course I get it turn 1, then realize it counts as a mana source after I name it, so I leave it there without saying a word. My opponent though, doesn't realize it for a whole 3-4 turns and allows me to set up a decent boardstate before he calls a judge over to spot my bluff on the pithing needle. He goes off the turn he calls the judge with enough hand disruption to strip my counter-filled hand.
I basically lost to a guy who didn't know how his expensive partially foiled out storm deck worked.

    Hilarious self-ownage

Can't we just get bad cards that can actually be good somewhere? Agree completely about the slug. 'Bad' cards at least had synergy with other cards, these days there are too many 6-card packs that include Slug, Nivix Barrier, Reclaim, and Dreadwaters. ***** mill is so ***** you can't even think to draft around it. I like my ***** mill to actually have a chance (Dampen Thought) instead of being true unplayable garbage. Design is scared of making a deep game, the build-around cards are the weakest, most conservative engines I have ever seen. Sorry fun magic, it was fun

Yet another reason to not play a game of the lolformat that is Commander. Deck can't be too good, but you can angleshoot the person who attacks you

Hey guys. I just built this deck, and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Most non-combo matchups feel fine. I feel alright against Omni-tell, a bit less good about Sneak/Show, but I feel like I am a big dog to Painter.

It seems like I play it about 20% of the time, so it seems fine to add a few more sideboard slots for hate or even main deck them.

I currently run one Engineered Explosives main and I'm considering adding more to the main or the board.

    Any tips for this matchup?
