Thank you everyone for the advice! Especially Spkilla! I proxied burn up and have been playing against it and I think adding a fourth leyline was infinitely better than having 2 sun droplets. I think I'm going to keep one just because it is such a good response to decks with small creatures that can occasionally sneak under the bridge. However I also like the multiple collective brutality in sideboard option since Gifts Storm is a big thing in my area and it is just so good with all options being cast.
As for the blind milling conversation, if I can jump in. I've been playing the deck a lot lately and have to say that it is dangerous to blind mill too much unless you know the deck you are going up against from getting some information. Personally when I first started it felt like aggressively ripping cards from the top of their deck as soon as possible was the right thing but there are so many decks in the current metagame that thrive on that. Doing so turns on Delve for Grixis death shadow, allows for snap caster shenanigans, and pretty much hands Dredge and Living End style decks the win. I think it's just better to set up with early hand hate and pithing needles on current board threats until you can find a lantern.

I apologize for not posting it with the deck option but I can't figure it out... but anyhow, I had leyline of sanctity in my opening hand and they were still able to win through destructive revelry. I think part of it is also that I don't know what a good hand for that matchup looks like..
Other than that the deck was a huge success against a green/black zombie deck, a UB faeries, and eldrazi tron.. all of which I won 2-0 with slight frustration in them stalling the games out without having any outs left. Thank you guys!
@Spkilla, Crucible is definitely a good mainboard card as it allows you to mill lands off the top of your deck and continue drawing spells and further lock pieces while also not missing your land drops every turn. Then in the later game you can use it for the shenanigans that you mentioned
Has everyone seen Adrian Sullivan's decklist and gameplay footage from the SCG Invitational? I feel like his version is really well suited for the current metagame and he piloted it amazingly.. I just swapped the cards around and am anxious to play it in tomorrow's FNM
Usually the burn should only be used as creature removal, unless going up against decks that self damage.. Very infrequently do I lightning bolt them unless it is to close out a game for the final points or need a lightning helix to resolve for life gain.
As for the reduced Nahiri, I wouldn't recommend it personally if you want the list to focus on her combo with Emrakul and don't want to include any geist of saint traft...
Also, while I'm posting.. just wanted to let everyone know that I played in a tournament on saturday and used 2 condemn in the sideboard and can confirm that the card works wonders against all forms of Death Shadow.. It's pretty much a one mana board wipe that allows you extra mana to hold for a counter war if they cast a stubborn denial. It also worked well against tron because them gaining 5 life from putting a reality smasher on the bottom is far better than them beating your face in... (Also I learned how horrible mana leak is in those matchups...)
Hey guys, I was wondering with the prevalence of Death Shadow styled decks, has anyone tried running 1 or 2 of Condemn in the mainboard? I feel like it adds as another form of cheap creature removal and keeps them from controlled life loss. Then when their threats have been exhausted you go in for the kill with however your deck closes games?
Could use a response as there is a big tournament in my area this weekend!
Hey guys! I am new to this deck and have played it in a few FNM's however I am completely torn on how to win against the current format. With death shadow and all of these aggressive style decks, I find myself unable to set up any sort of lock before they trample over me..
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
What does everyone think of running one Maelstrom Pulse in the mainboard? I just picked one up and haven't gotten a chance to try it.. I feel like it's good if you're not able to set up the lock immediately as you can wipe out multiple death shadow's and whatnot?
From the talk of side boarding, I think a lot of people are forgetting that the deck in itself is a sideboard against their hate. Unless they are able to aggressively play and have plenty of defense in hand, the deck will do all the work by preventing them from ever drawing a response to the lock.. That's why it isn't crucial you sideboard in heavy. If your opponent activates a stony silence you destroy it and move on. You don't need to reshape the deck entirely or you will draw dead hands every second game.
I just read this and I feel like it can also be helpful to occasionally sideboard out 1 to 2 mill rocks against certain matches like dredge/living end/and some control decks because sideboard options may provide a better lock and too much mill can be dangerous if it backfires.
So it was mentioned sort of already however, what is everyone's opinion on running a one of Crucible of Worlds in the mainboard? I feel like it definitely adds worth since it turns on all lands milled off of Ghoulcaller's bell, and also allows for repeated mana disruption through Ghostly Quarters..?
Haven't actually started playing the deck but have been doing my homework haha
I have lately become obsessed with this deck strategy and just bought it off amazon today! Can't wait until the cards come in the mail Will post results of tournaments when the deck is ready!
