Huh that is really strange. could be fun with the new Sisay, Weatherlight Captain. I always love me an advisor creature type though!

A nice reprint and a nice upgrade to voltaic key, this set is shaping up to be a pretty sweet core set

Thank you for the response, I took no offense to it Smile I think I misunderstood your initial proposal and thought you meant to change the combat system to be like Hearthstone's I did not realize you still could block attacks like normal even if they were directed at creatures. This is an interesting idea and definitely a house rule I might play around with to get more feedback for you. My main concern is I don't like creature based decks. I like removal and taking damage myself over my utility creatures being in danger, so this would take a realignment of my deck design but I will definitely ponder this more.

I politiely dissagree. I think one of the defining characteristics of Mtg is that you don't attack creatures. It is a big difference from many of the other card games out there and one I am very happy about, it makes it unique and honestly adds a lot more depth to the game. Being able to choose blockers gives players more decisions. As for creatures knowing to attack player and planeswalkers and not creaures. Planeswalkers are basically a new player helping you so thematically i makes sense ou can choose to attack them. And I think thematically it makes sense you can't attack creatures. If I was a general commanding an army, I am not going to put my key cards in harms way (For instance not blocking with them) unless it was life or death. Your opponent is trying to beat you. You place your troops in such a way to stop them, you decide where your armies are to stop theirs. If your opponent could directly attack your creatures in the combat step, it negates this. I mena no offense, I just think that what you are looking for is not in th espirit of the game but can be found in other games.

I think one thing we might be forgetting is the BaB promo is a wedge legend so that could easily add an extra mythic slot to the set since that cycle wont need 5 slots and then we can get Tarmogoyf in the set, or am I wrong on how the mythic slots work? does the Bab promo eat up a slot?

She protects against -1/-1 counters. mutilate does not give counters so it is not prevented. Same is true that melira doesn't stop Massacre Girl but it does stop Yawgmoth, Thran Physician

Now that is a two mana planeswalker done right! Only slightly sad this can't go in my Tatyova, benthic druid deck but I guess now I have to make it RUG XD This does seem like it has modenr applications too, loam decks have gotten several shots in the arm this set!

Carrier is one of the coolest and most flavorful creature times of old and I am so happy to see it come back! As people have said Engineered Plague on a stick is sweet and this card looks like a nice answer to the tribal running around in the set as well as potentially humans and goblins (if that becomes more of something) in modern.

I can only imagine that this is what timespiral spoiler season felt like. I love seeing all of these call backs and mechanics and the new design space they are trying out! This card looks fun. Not broken but can provide a late game threat once you run low on gas. I am excited to see how it performs.

The list of creature types is and always has been defined by the Comprehensive Rules, not Gatherer.

That is probably because only that creature from Loryn, Boldwyr Intimidator makes things cowards but it is a creature class I believe. https://mtg.gamepedia.com/Coward

Nice, works well against the changelings that will be running around limited and maybe we will get some more coward cards in the set as well for extra gravy.

Hmm I like it! Maybe this could be the shot in the arm zoo needed? Cost one less then Ranger of eos and has one more tougness as well as a potential way to stop a combo deck the turn before you aggro them out at the cost of finding one less friend? Seems good and the art is amazing!
