WIth my list against infect I side in this way: Out 4 Khalni 1 Farseek on draw 1 Explore on play In: 3 Sudden Shock 1 Lightning Bolt 1 Anger . This boarding plan has won me about 65 percent of my infect matchups in the months I have been playing the deck.
With your list, I would board in 1 Anger 1 Sudden Shock 2 Spellskite 2 Nature's Claim boarding out 3 Khalni's 1 Farseek on Draw 1 Explore on Play 1 Scapeshift. EE seems that it is pretty dead against them more often then not and baloth/tireless tracker seems a tad slow.
Hey guys I finally bought into Stompy. I played it a bit online and I enjoyed it immensly! It's a very fun deck.
The problem I am currently facing is the sideboard. What is your guys' plan? What to put in your sideboard? I'm playing the that is currently on your primer, but a lot of the options seem rather lackluster. Choke? Isn't there anything else? I'll be using the prey Upon since I have a lot of decks that need removal. Do you guys usually sideboard Dismember for Prey Upon against decks where life total matters?
Although I did just get the deck, I played 10 matches against burn winning 7 of them with +3 Feed the Clan -2 Scavenging Ooze -1 Experiment One on the draw Leatherback on the play (because they burn your face often it seems to race us , making Scooze not great). In terms of my sideboard right now, I have been enjoying the choices through testing for a couple of months before getting the deck on paper. The Natural States/ Deglamar package enables for problem artifacts and enchantments to be reliably removed (The split is important because of Chalice of the Void potential and even fringe things such as worship/sphere of safety). The 2 extra Scooze in the board have been great against GY strategys between that and Militant. Dungrove Elders and Dismembers have been good against the grindy decks, and Feed the Clan has been good against the aggro mirror.
Got this list foiled out for Christmas, and it has been performing very well for me and is very fun! I really like this deck as my second deck (Primary deck is Titanshift).
Lantern Control doesn't have to cast spells though after a certain point, but I see what you mean. I would not run it but I can understand the choice to an extent
Control is already a good match-up for us, and what combo decks can you think of that the card would help against? Ad Nauseam for example (in my opinion our worst match-up along with Zooicide) doesn't care about it. However, it does have merit against Zooicide, so I would run it if Zooicide is extremely popular where you are.
Is the Glittering Wish version not a thing anymore? Been a while since I played the deck (sold it for Titanshift but am looking to pick up a second deck for christmas and I totally miss playing this!) and the wish version is what I played. However, I am considering switching back to the esper version. Also, is Grave Titan still tech?
After some testing, for the sideboard -1 Natural State -1 Feed the Clan +2 Dismember and for the mainboard +2 Scavenging Ooze -1 Rancor -1 Blossoming Defense. I also cut 2 Scavenging Ooze and the Thrun from the board for 3 Dungrove Elders. The changes have made the deck much better.
Hey guys! I am getting stompy to let a friend use for a deck, and I want to get him the most competitive list possible (sans Horizon Canopys can not afford those so I prefer mono green). This is the list I made that I have been testing with
4 Aspect of Hydra
4 Avatar of the Resolute
4 Blossoming Defense
4 Dryad Militant
4 Experiment One
18 Forest
4 Garruk's Companion
4 Leatherback Baloth
4 Rancor
4 Strangleroot Geist
2 Treetop Village
4 Vines of Vastwood
SB: 2 Deglamer
SB: 4 Feed the Clan
SB: 4 Natural State
SB: 4 Scavenging Ooze
SB: 1 Thrun, the Last Troll
I chose Companion over Tusker for the trample being a better tradeoff then one toughness (correct me if I am wrong). I am open to change anything as long as I can understand why the changes are needed. Thank you in advance :).
Hey guys! I started testing the Madcap combo in the deck and it was extremely strong! I won a majority of my matches in testing with a list tweaked from the reddit PPTQ list (that made me originally test the deck). http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/09-10-16-rg-ponza/ Any advice on what to change? I am liking the look of the deck enough to build it slowly to compliment Titanshift as it is good against everything Titanshift is not the best against (mainly zooicide and ad nauseam), so it is good for a meta change.
