This is honestly getting depressing. So much burn hate in these recent sets. It's as if someone in wizards is specifically pushing the resilience of the burn deck to its limits. And I think the deck can still perform well, but if this trend continues its only a matter of time.
Slightly off topic, but here's some thought experiment questions:
1. Do you guys think Burn will get a new burn spell or tool in the next expansion?
2. Does Burn even need one to keep up with the changing modern meta and/or to just expand the burn varieties?
3. What do you think it should be?
Personally, I think it should be Burn spell that replaces itself so that Burn doesn't run out of steam as quickly as it does, allows the deck to search for crucial answers/lethals.
Something like: 2 Mana (RU) instant, "Deal 3 damage to target player. Look at the top two cards of your library. Put one of them into your hand and the other on the bottom of your library." Basically Lava spike + Sleight of hand at instant speed.
This is my current Boros Burn deck list. Any suggestions?
Also, I'm having a hard time dealing with Control. I keep getting stone walled by them. Do you guys have any tips against control decks like Grixis, U/W tron and general U/W in regards to playstyle, hand-keeps and sideboarding? Thanks!

This new Gideon looks really good against Burn. It provides a beater that's bigger than our threats, it protects itself or other important permanents(e.g. manlands, other beaters, mana dorks, etc) from damage, and stalls the game in the opponent's favour by preventing us from winning when they get low. Combine this with other Burn hate cards like Worship, Leyline of Sanctity, Collective Brutality and life-gain, I may be a bit alarmist, but this might cause Burn to lose its Tier 1 status. And even some more.
Perhaps we could transition into Jund, utilising Abrupt Decay and Fatal Push. But, I don't really know.
Hey guys!
I'm starting to play MTG again after a year hiatus. What's changed in the meta and is their any changes to Naya Burn playstyle?
I've forgotten the sequencing and tricks for Burn.
I run traditional Naya Burn with no Nacatl.

Thanks for the advice! I just bought some Izzet Signets and I'm thinking about buying Comet Storm as well as Anger of the Gods. I've also been thinking of buying Mizzium Mortars and/or Slagstorm to board wipe token decks(Because I recently lost to one T-T).
I've also been thinking of getting of the Blue Shinxes and stuff, what other blue or red creatures I should get cus I feel like I need more low cost creatures?
I've just started playing MTG about 3 weeks ago and I bought the "Manipulative Monstrosities" Theros :symu:/:symr: Intro pack to start playing with. Me and a buddy of mine(an experienced MTG player by my standards) have been modifying and experimenting:science: with the deck so it can better play out its theme, manipulate and delay the opponent till you can bring out your big guys e.g. Shipbreaker Kraken. I have been fervently search high and low for cards from older sets that can boost the deck's capabilities!
This my deck right now:
Instants
Red
2x Volcanic Geyser
2x Shock
2x Lightning Strike(gonna replace with lightning bolts)
2x Magma Jet
Blue
2x Mana Leak(gonna get more
2x Dissipate
4x Dissolves
Sorcery/Enchantments
2x Aqueous Form
2x Curse of the Swine(free bacon is always a plus)

2x Izzet Boilerworks
2x Evolving Wilds
9x Island
7x Mountains
I have found my love for Izzet:izzet: and this is my first deck will be my greatest CREATION!!!
If you have any suggestions or comments on how to improve my deck and combos I could make with my deck or with the cards you think I could get please comment!
