Something people always overlook with the black splash is Rakdos Charm in the sideboard. Especially in my meta with twin running around the top tables having the counter to the oops I win is really just stupid. Also the more bolts the better is always my opinion and bump is another bolt
Now that my ban has expired I would like to ask you guys for help with my main problem with the deck: What the actual hell am I supposed to d against Soul Sisters? Is this just an instant-lose matchup for us or can it be won with the right sideboard cards? A friend of mine that I play again quite often has Soul Sisters and I literally lose like 95% of all games against him. I've tried 4 Skullcracks and 4 FotBH main and still didn't stand a chance. Not even Leyline of Punishment helped. Halp me pls!!
Well is leyline didn't work thats pretty much your best tool except maybe rain of gore, I would say the best way to play it is to bolt martyr whenever they don't have the mana to sac it and try to ride creatures to victory. You are most likely not going to get there with a "pure burn hand" and need the creatures to consistently do the damage.
Anyone's opinion on Goblin Heel Cutter as a aggressive creature to get around big blockers with all the crazy midrange decks running around.
Most of the time I end up getting ahead and just running into a brick wall and I feel like this might be a good way to punch through those last point of damage.
Also any opinions on dash as a way to play around sweepers?
So this is the deck I have been running on cockatrice for awhile and I have really liked it. Looking forward to trying it in the daily tomorrow (my first). Only thing is I do not have the serene hearts on mtgo (seriously where can I find these damn things) but besides that I still have a really hard time sideboarding and am looking for any tips I can get.
Also only thing I am undecided on main board is a whether I cut a bolt for another fling.
After testing I decided that splashing black is too easy to pass up.
What do people think of wear and tear? It hits leyline and artifacts so it covers most of our bases and combined with Rakdos charm it really opens up the rest of the sideboard to anything we want
This is the list I am running. I like the consistency of only two colors and feel that splashing black for one card in the main board is just not worth it to me. Any advice and tweaks you want to give
I swear to god if they ban Grapeshot instead of Ascendancy (if they ban either) I will be pissed. Storm is clearly much less consistent than ascendancy when it comes to turn 3 kills and can't even get a turn 2 kill unless your running simian spirit guides. Also storm is a good spot right now, still good but not oppressive and easily hated out.
So heres my current decklist and I am looking for some advice. It feels really good on the removal, draw power and actually ending the games fronts but my counter suite is feeling a bit meh and I just can't put my finger on why. What do you think would be a good replacement for them? I feel that some powerful spells are able to slip through, maybe I have just been drawing unluckily but just feels kinda weird.
Engineered explosives or ratchet bomb, supreme verdicts, just countering things is a pretty good option as well, most of their really good enchantments are two drops so snare hits them.
