All in all, I am looking forward to draft this set. The amount of tribal synergy is higher, still many cards are very versatile. Commons and uncommons this time are especially of high power level. Limited will be exciting.
I mean you would obviously flash this in response to an activation, you respond to Kiki-jiki tapping by playing this, you don't just randomly flash it in when your opponent isn't doing anything, just like you don't cast removal on Kiki-jiki asap either, you wait for him to activate. Have you literally never played against a twin combo?
Well, this way it works, I'm just stupid. I didn't play against it, but I played with Kiki-Jiki combo, but that was a while ago:)
And as mentioned by others, this new pirate really only works as a single-shot Fog against twin, since your opponent just stops making tokens once you flash this in.
Or, you know, just continue making them with this on the stack. It's not like it has split second.
Pretty sure it's 2 mana to fight, not 4.
As for playability, another limited bomb sure, but seems pretty slow for Standard... But the flip side being paired with Anointed Procession can do some work.
Interesting that they used the old templating in making it two separate abilities. Not sure how it's abusable, but you could remove the enchantment with the first ability still on the stack and then the cards are gone for good.
Note that the second ablility doesn't force a player to discard the hand. So, if you have a way to sac the enchantment, it effectively becomes "2U: Draw cards equal to the number of cards in your hand", which can be bonkers.
Llanowar Elves also.
It's a common tho.
