Jan 8, 2015Tzenmoroth posted a message on on future modern banningsThe only thing Sword of the Meek does is synergize strongly with Thopter Foundry. Thopter control would enter the format as a pretty solid deck but really wouldn't do anything borked. Note that when Bloodbraid Elf was banned, the only reason was because Jund was far too powerful. Since then, Deathrite Shaman was banned which was the card that was actually giving Jund its superpowers. BBE was modern legal for awhile before DRS and was fine, and most pros already agree that BBE is safe and would only have a minimal effect on the format at this point. Even Patrick Chapin is advocating for an unban now. If you don't like scapeshift, that's fine, but it isn't a format defining deck, it isn't what Jund once was and what Delver currently is. It really has no reason to be weakened. If anything Dig Through Time was what Scapeshift and Twin needed to not get pushed out of the meta.Posted in: spellcheck

But Preordain is much more powerful and format warping than Dig Through Time can or will ever be. Dig comes nowhere close to being a problem. Blue is more required in red burn decks than red now, and a blue splash is beyond required now for any jund/junk/rock build. That's all on cruise. Cards that are also completely worth unbanning include BBE, Sword of the Meek and Golgari Mockery of the Banlist-Troll.Posted in: spellcheck

Anwyay, good removal spell is good. I just wish we can get more disenchant effects that are more maindeckable (on bodies, other modes, etc).
Killing planeswalkers is a plus for me since I don't support superfriends as a strategy. Not sure if this is good enough to test though but its not terrible and I would run it over Disk.
Bargain is something I've thought about but there's a lot of aggro in my cube and 6 mana do nothing but pay life seems bad. By the time you can use the cards, its probably too late. I don't have much respect for the card in cube.
Maybe if this were a 5/5 for 5? Eh? The effect is cool though.
It is hella cute though.
Very highly after power.
As a cube manager, how do you feel about Wurmcoil Engine's role in cube?
It isn't touching my unpowered list. I would need to be in the market for colorless nukes.
What cards do you see as game ruining BS?
It depends a lot on the playgroup and the environment. Highly pickable cards that slot into most decks while dominating games on their own generally qualify. It depends on how much the card hoses the supported archetypes, how answerable they are, etc.
Aesthetically speaking, do you prefer your Wurmcoil Engine facing right or facing left?
To the right.
