Chandra in winning deck $8 in stock.

Jace not in winning deck $80 sold out.

I'll never understand the psychology behind MTG price spikes. Some cards are just subject to hype supernovas.

I hate 5-colour decks, and I fear this Standard is going to be full of them.

It's only early but it is looking like Wizards has broken standard with fetchable dual lands.

5 color Bring to Light toolkit deck is looking near unbeatable game after game. 5 lands producing WUBRG every single time.

Unbeatable? The 2 notable players have lost a combined 4 times, some games were close and some decks are easier to tune than other. Looking solid? Sure, Unbeatable? Not quite.

A number of 1 to 3 Infinite Obliteration in main and board = Name Rhino, Jace, Mantis rider etc and that signifacntly neuters the deck. Formats slow enough that you can afford to turn 4 or 5 Obliterate and it will really wreck house.

I said "looking" unbeatable. Takes weeks to establish consistency.

Infinite Obliteration is a horrible card. Value decks aren't combo decks, you can't beat them by stripping threats. I'm going to guess you're fairly new to the game. It is often new players that think these extraction effects are busted.

Good to know you speak in hyperbole and have no clue what you're talking about. Good luck being behind for the next 6 months

Gerry T went 12-1-1. I stand by my hyperbole. I was wowed.

This will be remembered as the most overhyped set ever. These cards are bad, Theros bad, wizards is taking magic in a completely different direction where everything is a midrange deck and there won't be any tier 1 synergies.

    Yep.

The Eldrazi and Ally decks are doomed to become tier 2 trash and goodstuff.dec is going to dominate.

I'm willing to bet GBx will be the best deck by far. Either Abzan or Sultai. Maybe even splashing a 4th color that isn't red.

Talk about nerfing red by taking away Stormbreath Dragon and giving them nothing to replace it. Dragonlord Ojutai is the best replacement and you don't need red for that.

Every single deck will have 4 Hangarback Walker too.

    Gotta love Tightening Coils.

It's a nod to the flavor fail of Pin to the Earth.

It's a good set but they seriously underpowered the Eldrazi.

Without Emmy and Kozi the Eldrazi have spread themselves thin on Zendikar so even though they're turning stuff to dust the allies are able to band together and defeat them.

There's the flavor excuse however weak it might be but the fact remains that this is the big opportunity to print the sweet battlecruisers EDH Timmys love to play and they've been way too cautious. If things that cost 8-10 mana are really powered down then does it mean they'll be really easy to cast in standard?

I'd like to actually start playing with the set before passing judgement on the limited environment as it does look quite good.

It does seem like the quality of the rares is horrible but that's the usual these days. There will still be playables to be found.

Complete Disregard grabbed my attention. Instant speed black targeted exile that gets around protection from Black is... really interesting.

I hate Mirran Crusader with a passion.

Drana is what you call pushed. This sets version of Brimaz, King of Oreskos. Trading flying and first strike for better stats which is fair when she is able to buff your whole team in the first strike damage phase.

Now we see why she got the playmat.

Ugin's Insight seems pretty intense for tapout decks of all kinds.

Probably some sort of Sultai midrange but I really find it hard to see how this is playable with Dig Through Time in the format which is probably one of the best draw spells of all time. Seeing legacy play in the top decks and is banned in modern.

Jace's Ingenuity is a billion times better because the decks that want to play it need to leave mana up to counterspell.

No control deck is tapping out to draw cards and then passing the turn. That's just daft.
