    UW aggro needs this.

You still need to counter stuff like Chandra or Languish or you're in big trouble as when all the pumps are gone it dies too.

I pretty much cashed out of Puca around the time of BFZ getting a bunch of lands, Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker 2 Drana, 2 Archangel of Tithes and Ulamog.

I've gone cold on it because I don't feel people are fair with what points they send cards out for.

Pucapoints are now worth significantly less than real money due to inflation and people aren't going to send cards easily flipped for cash unless they're currently spiking.

I feel like I keep going through the same cycle. I put some really nice cards on my want list, don't get them filled and then put a bunch of standard cards on just to get things moving.

Fair enough Puca moves slow but it's a little too slow when they want to maintain the parity of puca points to real money when real money can get cards today.

It needs to change and soon.

BTW: The Nicol was SP but I accepted it anyway because I didn't want any trouble. Used it as trade bait.

Drana is the most obvious spec for a long time. I'll probably try to trade her at the high point in the coming weeks to acquire the SOI planeswalkers.

I nearly traded her for a Kytheon, Hero of Akros a couple of weeks ago but I'm glad I didn't.

Going to finish off a playset of Archangel of Tithes hoping to play a white aggressive strategy.

Ojutai might be due for a final spike in price before he heads to rotation. I'm more keen on Dragonlord Dromoka myself. I want to gain some life if I'm going to be using painlands like Caves of Koilos and paying life to Vindicate with Anguished Unmaking.

Those that are keen on control might want to get Languish dirt cheap.

Got a few things in BFZ on watch but not really sure as there is a lot of the set out there.

Deathmist Raptor is nice and cheap but I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger. Totally worthless after rotation and the price for a playset is still a bit too much for me for 6 months of play. I never opened them and due to the price being so high for so long have never owned a single one. I think Dragons is a bit of an anomaly really. Large 3rd set that didn't seem to be too heavily opened.

Not long now until standard decks are 100% rares, mythics and basics. Then we'll move to mythic removal and counters because of trinket text.

My competitive legacy deck has about 10 non-land rares and one mythic. It sure makes you think...

This standard season is shaping up to be mythicrare.dec

I will probably suck it up and buy what I need except there is one card I refuse to buy and I think we all know what that is.

I've just had another look at the SCG prices and I'm gobsmacked they started Jace so high.

Every mythic is $20-$30 according to them when not long ago they promised they would no pull this stunt again. Very bad taste in my mouth.

I think I have to rethink my strategy for acquiring the cards in this set completely. Waiting for the full spoiler might be the best thing to do.

I will still play prerelease but if you don't open enough walkers you're going to go home very disappointed.

4 good walkers and no rare dual land cycle? Really?

That makes for a very top heavy set if this is the case.

Sigarda and Olivia look like being bulk to me. Big names but poor compared to their originals.

Avacyn is well overpriced, stay well clear. Will be less than $10.

I can't believe the price SCG put Olivia up at. I think she's bulk.

I'm sorry I don't follow the discussion. If you have a specific inquiry relating to my post you'll have to be more clear and I will respond. "High dollar cards" and "couple of bucks" are contradictory terms.

What I mean by that is that money cards typically don't cost much when first released. Cards like Blood Moon, Glimpse of Nature, Through the Breach, Sensei's Divining Top, Lion's Eye Diamond, Kiki-Jiki, Staff of Domination, Goyf etc etc... were not money cards starting off. Just because a card from Oath is bulk right now doesn't mean it will be 6 months to a year from now. Expeditions are a minor factor and when packs quit being popped and supply diminishes some expeditions won't be driving prices up or down.

What you suggest is called hoarding. Hanging onto everything for years and years in the hope something might go up. Somebody has to do it? Many people just can't be bothered. I just pulled a giant stack of KTK and FRF rares out of my trade folder. What am I supposed to do with them? Perhaps put them in a box and throw it down the back of the top shelf in the closet?

The fact of the matter is here and now the supply of BFZ and OGW is hugely exaggerated because people wanted to open expeditions. One friend of mine opened 8+ boxes of BFZ, we don't know the exact number because I think he is a little embarrassed he didn't actually pull an expedition after spending all that money.

This means everything in those sets has an absolute glut of supply. There are probably close to millions of Reality Smashers for every Through the Breach, who really knows. Wizards keeps print run information a closely guarded secret to stop speculators having the power to destroy the market for cards that would be confirmed to be very scarce.

Without any extra value in SOI packs it will follow a more traditional pattern of economics. Once the box price reaches parity with the expected value of cards that can be opened the top end cards will rise to soak that value as the bottom end drops off into bulk. This is the point where people stop relying on luck to get the cards they want and start buying singles. Getting a bad box is simply not worth it for most people, it might even out over a case but that would be a serious investment in time, marketing and salesmanship to be able to sell of the excess of things you don't actually want or need.

It is very likely that this will not be opened in massive numbers. There might be some good deals to be had. Never guaranteed but likely.

Olivia reminds me of Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch except she is worse.

No aggro deck wants to discard their gas which should be almost all creatures.

I do see how it combos with Falkenrath Gorger but seems very unreliable.

More good madness creatures might change the equation.

Sacrificed to the great casual format.

But I will always play the original for her protection against Annihilator.

    Perhaps a draft bomb.

Certainly screams bulk mythic. Barely better than Dromoka, the Eternal just because she can generate tokens.

Wolf as protection then the big scary walker ready to pop off a bolt on something then repeat.

The problem here is finding the time to use +1 which leaves her on low loyalty a lot which of course makes her vulnerable.

Interesting design, not overpowered but certainly does some work.

Wizards is REEEEEALLY trying to push Big Red, aren't they?

    Stormbreath Dragon yes.

Everything else has been close but has fallen short. I once had high hopes for Soul of Shandalar and it won me a few games at FNM with the flashback burn but it never really took off.

They've just kept pushing casting costs up and up until all we have is trash like Tyrant of Valakut and Embermaw Hellion.

    This card is bonkers.

It stays flipped once you flip it.

Could be very close to first pick in draft. One flip and you're in business hitting for +3 with first strike. Even with something as small as a 2 power flyer that's a big threat.
