The 4/5 Spirit token from Invoke the Ancients is a frog-type thing despite both arts of the actual card depicting treefolk-esque spirits. I wonder how that happened...
How? Classic miscommunication between WotC and the artists. Look at Dovin's illustrations, for example, somewhere he has six fingers on each hand, somewhere else only five.
Treefolk still turned out okay, this Pilot looks more like a city clerk accidentally wandered into a mech
If anyone is collecting those official tokens, then be prepared to have to open a LOT of boosters if you want to have them all. It took me 11 (set) boxes. The occurrence of some of them is truly tragic.
I also have to say that WotC kind of missed a chance here. We have a bunch of cards with alternate manga designs, but not a single token like that. On the other hand, I'm actually not that sorry, because at least they won't interfere with my custom tokens.
