I did indeed make elfball for green. Also as a funny aside, someone in meta already has a snake deck. With the same general too.

I threw together a zombie list out of a combination of all the good zombies I could find plus some good stuff from my old Chainer list. I'll probably start working on a Lovisa list after I finish making this one. I'm sure your primer wouldn't be a bad place for ideas Smile

I think I've definitely settled on Lovisa Coldeyes for red. For white, I'm probably leaning towards angels. For black, maybe zombies. Cause Ghoulcaller Gisa seemed fun.

I had this idea to make 5 different tribal decks. One for each color. I only really have 5 decks at a time, and I'm kinda depowering a lot of them. What I have now is a combo-licious Daretti, a stax-y Titania, a ruthless Azusa, Ezuri elfball, and Lorthos sea monsters. (Bonus points if you can guess my favorite color) Ezuri and Lorthos are both tribal. I was thinking of dismantling the other three just because combos are only fun for so long before getting stale, plus tribal decks are usually quite fair. The only problem is landing on a tribe for each one. Some options I thought of.

    Black:
    Marrow-Gnawer Rats!
Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath Demons.
Mikaeus, the Unhallowed or Ghoulcaller Gisa Zombies.

    White
    Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero Rebels
Angels can be done with a few different commanders. Akroma, Angel of Wrath, Linvala, Keeper of Silence, or Avacyn, Angel of Hope spring to mind.
I don't even know who would lead a knight and/or soldier deck.
Kemba, Kha Regent is the obvious choice for cats. Now that I think about it though, Brimaz, King of Oreskos is good too.

    Red
I wanna stay away from goblins as I've done Krenko in the past, and he's fun, but I want a new experience.
Zirilan of the Claw is a good dragon commander.
I'm kinda drawing a blank as to other red tribes, so it'll probably be dragons unless I get another suggestion.

Please advise on what the community things the best, or most fun tribes are. Budget isn't a concern, but I want these to be semi-competitive. Any help would be appreciated.

I also made a big blue kraken deck what with the release of Teferi's EDH deck. I'm using Lorthos as my commander on account of the fact that he's a wincon in the command zone, but I was also thinking about using Teferi. That -1 is nothing to sneeze at especially since my list is filled to the gills with artifact ramp. Speaking of, why is no one else recommending loads of artifact ramp? I'd much rather just have the mana to cast my fatties and believe me when I say it gets ridiculous really fast. Lorthos EDH for the win though.

Both of those points were directly addressed in my post. Whether it's one person or multiple people doesn't flip who's being selfish and oppressive around. I suggest reading up on the concept of Tyranny of the Majority. The group is in the wrong here, and having their own dictates turned against them is hopefully the kick in the pants they need to realize that building better and more flexible decks if preferable to the behavior they've resorted to.

No you haven't addressed the points in any way. If they are happy playing the way they do, why should they have to change? The tyranny of the majority is utterly irrelevant here as they aren't forcing anything on anyone. People that don't like to play their way can, amazingly enough, not play with them.

Except...you know....this points system. And all these rules.

    +1 Irony

Playing a game or two of EDH isn't a right everyone has. Nor is it mandatory and failure to do so is illegal. So exactly how are they forcing people to play with them?

It's not a right, but it is a desire. If this is the only shop in town, and he shows up to play, they're saying to him, "This is the only way you can play with us." The part I bolded never said he was being forced to play EDH. He *is*, however, being forced to play it in a certain way or "No fun for you, sir." The people promoting this type of ridiculous rules nitpickery are basically telling a VERY large chunk of decks, "You can't sit with us." A lot of those penalties even hit casual players heavily too. In a meta with no points system or anything like that, people just show up and play with no expectations or hurt feelings. These stupid points systems always end badly, because the guy with the "Everything costs more than 9 mana to cast" deck will never change or adapt to his surroundings. These are the people who scoop to a counterspell. Then little Jimmy-licks-windows will go tell the store owner about how unfair Phage the Untouchable is because she's an instant win and totally not fun. Then we wind up here. And yes, I have legitimately seen Phage the Untouchable banned at one store.

    The salt is strong.

I mean....my mono green deck would probably not be considered fun by most playgroups either. I'm in a cutthroat meta, and I was basically running "Mono G Blow Up All Your Lands Deck." Except now it's just, "Eh. I might Terastodon you on turn three sometimes, but mostly I'll just twiddle my thumbs and draw into crappy replacement cards."

And it wasn't just Rofellos standing between me and winning, but the triple loss of him, primetime, and sylvan primordial pretty much drove the final nail in the coffin. Now my deck is too slow and/or not aggressive enough, so it just gets either countered or comboed out too early. Usually a combination of both.

By the way, Juwdah, I actually made your Kozilek list a while back with some slight modifications of my own. It looks like I'm probably gonna take apart my Chainer list since Braids was banned so that I can have fun with some Metalworker action. I'm sure your ecstatic about that one. Grin

Oh yeah. They did ban a blue card today. Oh wait....nobody really played that blue card anyway. Erayo was a nuisance as a commander when you could build around her, but as one of the 99, she was fine. Easily dealt with actually. Same goes for the other 2. As far as the logic on Rofellos' ban goes, I was saying that it wasn't sound because it removed something for no reason. The commander banned list was only for this format and it made sense because your commander is a card that you pretty much always have access to and can pretty much always be recurred. By banning cards as commanders they made two things happen. 1. You didn't see them every game. 2. If they were dealt with, (by exile especially) then they were gone for good. Those were both reasonable things that came about when a card was banned as a commander. As far as Sylvan Primordial goes, in the hundreds of games that I played with him, he only really ran away with 1 game. Majority of the time, he would blow up some enchantments/artifacts then eat a removal spell. Or get countered outright. I don't hate my green deck. I love my green deck. I used to love it cause it was an alternative way to win in competitive circles without resorting to combo. Nowadays, I just like it cause it's a pet deck. My playgroup is going to just have house bans because we're a competitive bunch and seeing the RC neuter mainly one color just rubs the wrong way. For other playgroups though, I'll have to invest in a new deck. Although part of me is also excited. I get to be the jerk running blue based combo and winning every game. Huzzah!

Let me get this straight. I spend an exorbitant amount of money on a mono green deck so that I can play around competitive people. My deck isn't an unstoppable juggernaut, but it won a healthy amount of games. Then they ban Primeval Titan. Ok. Not that big a loss and their reasons were fairly logical. Nothing to get upset about. Then they ban Sylvan Primordial. What. Well this is kind of a crap call here. Their reasoning wasn't as great cause yeah everyone could reanimate/clone it, but you had to play green to take advantage of half of its text box. But whatever. My win rate with ol' Azusa slipped with some bans, but it's still got some speed, and it can still hangout with the combo decks assuming they don't get Sol Ring/Mana Crypt turn 1-2. Then Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary is banned. Wut. This makes absolutely no sense to me. It's difficult to understand? Simplicity? I'm sorry, but who are you trying to teach, that they can't understand this? The commander damage rule is more confusing to new players than this, because half the time, new people to the format think that Heartless Hidetsugu is the best commander ever. Then as an ever bigger "FU" to all the green players, (And it was ONLY the green players hurt by the Rofellos ban by the way. He slotted into...one deck)they turn around and unban Metalworker. Awesome. The deck I spent hundreds of dollars o, now can't really do much against counter heavy combo. Woohoo. I say this as someone who *has* a counter heavy combo deck. Just for funsies, I put the banned cards back into Azusa, and although she didn't win every game vs combo, it was a lot fairer. Guess I'm just gonna have to drop an even MORE exorbitant amount of cash for blue cards, since that seems to be the color that the RC favorites. I'll Mana Drain that spell into infinite Palinchron mana. WOOHOO! Who needs to swing with creatures?

Yes I realize that this is a rant. Basically what I read here is that when I go out of town or to side events, I need to just play blue. There's not really any getting around it.
