    Owner chooses since the owner is the one putting it there.

    It's an interesting spell but I think the restriction is too harsh for it to see much play, perhaps as a sideboard card though. But then there are so many alternatives.

    How is it free? It costs 4 mana plus a card and is highly conditional on top of that.

    Giving a creature -1/-1 is not the same thing as putting a -1/-1 counter on it (Black Sun's Zenith).

    Melira doesn't do anything to stop power/toughnes changing. She does care about things other than infect, and opponents creatures with infect will not even have infect in most circumstances.

    Almost. Since you have panharmonicon in play Siege Rhino and Thragtusk would both trigger twice when entering aswell.

    Anytime the hino enters it will trigge,r, no matter what made the card enter.

    This analogy doesn't really hold up in my opinion.

    Prosh and food chain is infinite all on its own and deterministically so.

    Urza and paradox engine does nothing on their own and even when you get a bunch of mana rocks you are still not deterministically infinite since the ability can fizzle. Sure, with enough rocks and mana to start with you are very likely to be able to play your whole deck. But it is not a 2 card combo in the way foodchain prosh or flashhulk is.

    A suspend creature without haste probably makes this really slow.

    If you have it and the mana to suspend it turn one you will get 8 power to attack with on turn 6, and until then you will be down a card and a mana. The problem is that by turn 6 I cannot think of any eternal format where a couple of 4/4:s are super relevant

    What would go infinite? Atraxa proliferate on end step, this proliferates on combat damage. The abilities doesn't interact.

    He will probably be an incredibly good artifact centric mono blue commander, stating that it doesn't take any effort to break him isn't exactly true in my opinion. To break him you need to include the inf mana engines and a rain of thopters etc. The 5 mana for his ability is also steep enough to not be too detrimental until you get infinite or close to infinite mana.

    Basically what I am thinking is that he will probably be incredibly strong but not more busted than many other combo commanders and he isn't actively interrupting every other players gameplay.

    I do like how he gets around Stony Silence though.

    A card that refers to itself like that is read as "this permanent". So it would work fine. I'll dig up the specific rules-text. brb

    201.4. Text that refers to the object it’s on by name means just that particular object and not any other
    objects with that name, regardless of any name changes caused by game effects

    201.4b If an ability of an object refers to that object by name, and an object with a different name
    gains that ability, each instance of the first name in the gained ability that refers to the first
    object by name should be treated as the second name

    Well the championing would start a flicker loop where the titan champions the berserker. Then the hero champions the titan returning the berserker. So the berserker champions the hero. Etc.

    It is basically a triple oblivion ring loop but the rings tap for mana.

    But I am confused aswell. Sure, you get infinite blinks and untaps. But they don't do anything unless you have a haste enabler as well, and in that case it is a 5 card combo that only gives infinite mana.

    No. The ability is independent of the Blast Zone and furthermore when you activate the Blast Zone you sacrifice it as a cost so it will not even be around to be targeted by Ghost Quarter

    Apart from taking up a spell slot rather than a land slot a repeatable tutor that is hard to get rid off is good even if it is a tad expensive Smile
