Hello, again. Why most people think that hive mind is a bad card versus ad nauseam? If you have one in play and they cast angel's grace, hive mind copies it and you can't lose the game until end of turn too! Then they become dependent on their phyrexian unlifes, but with artifact and enchantment hate you can slow down their game first and destroy unlifes later.
Now I'm testing a pair of engineered explosives, a walking ballista and one academy ruins in maindeck. A ballista entering and exiting graveyard in lategame is another wincon, I think it can be as good as a batterskull.

Dec 29, 2016Indeed, both cards costs a lot of mana. But sometimes this deck can generate that mana too, a couple of times I had hardcasted emrakul in turn 3, with one azusa, one sakura, two amulets and a karoo. I suppose that for testing I would have maindeck only one bridge and one emrakul, because I would like to draw/ancient stirrings them in late game, after a couple of titans and the lands that have entered in battlefield with them, in that scenario surely we can make enough mana for that, probably both of them will act as wincons. When I tested nahiri in the past months I saw that they served more for having time enough to have mana of card in hand for a titan, because the other player spend resources to kill them before anything else, but they didn't put the emrakul in play almost never. On the other hand I felt that emrakul was more versatile than I thought at the beginning, with her in maindeck cards of the graveyard can return to library.Posted in: Developing Competitive (Modern)
Dec 28, 2016Hello. What do you think about this new card, planar bridge, from aether revolt masterpieces? Since I tried amulet titan with nahiris and emrakul I've been thinking about have one emrakul in the deck, because it entered more times hardcasted than with nahiris. I think having one planar bridge and one emrakul in maindeck can be possible.Posted in: Developing Competitive (Modern)
Oct 10, 2016Hello to everybody, I have been playing this lovely deck for a long time and I still thinking this still is the most funny deck in all the format. I would like to share with you the list I'm playing nowadays because I think it has potential and I'm open to suggestions in order to improve the deck. This list is more or less a basic standard version of the deck with batterskull and a package of oaths of nissa, nahiris and emrakul, the aeons torn. The reason for having those cards instead of standard ones is that last week I was thinking for cantrips other than serum visions (that i feel a bit worse than before, nowadays i prefer a lot more ancient stirrings) for replacement and when I realized that with oath of nissa, a pair of nahiris and a emrakul I would have another win condition and a backup plan for dealing with blood moons, I got very very excited. The best part is that it works! I have tested these days in Magic Online, with two 3-2 in friendly and competitive leagues, and yesterday I won 4 rounds in a PPTQ of 6. I did not get into the finals but I was very pleased. Yes, there are a deck in the format that can hard cast a emrakul, in fact I have put him on board hardcasted more times than with nahiri. Well, the deck is this:Posted in: Developing Competitive (Modern)
DeckMagic OnlineOCTGN2ApprenticeBuy These Cards 1 Mortuary Mire
1 Hive Mind
3 Obstinate Baloth
1 Sudden Shock
1 Engineered Explosives
1 Spell Pierce
1 Pact of Negation
1 Melira, Sylvok Outcast
2 Nature's Claim
I don't feel the deck a lot more slow than before. I know serum visions is strictly better than oath of nissa as a cantrip, is true, but in this deck is very versatile, you can keep a hand with a pair of lands, accelerators and one of these with confidence. The best part is nobody expect several cards. I have noticed that various pairings are better now, like martyr life (2 rounds, one online and one in real life, 2 won 2-0) or jeskai control, but eldrazis still crush me. At least yesterday I won 2-1 one round versus a guy that played eldrazi and taxes, and it wasn't comboing out early. Well, I expect you to have fun if you try this.
Jan 16, 2016Argh, only one month ago I buyed this deck. I'm very sad and thinking about say goodbye to modern now. Summer bloom is the new adition to the list of cards that aren't powerful enough for legacy or vintage and we cannot play them in modern. I expect not to lose so much money selling the cards.Posted in: Developing Competitive (Modern)
