Can anyone imagine a Legendary Bestow creature and how that would play? Not only would it be a flavor fail ("the gods say that only Jim over here gets this awesome boon, everybody else can go suck it,") but it would also result in incredibly awkward interactions in other formats, namely Commander.

People would love to see another 5 color General to add some variety to the mix, especially one with all of those shiny keywords already preinstalled. However, that then raises the question of where Bestow works from. If it only works from the hand, then do people even want to use it when they can't even use it's full power? If you can Bestow from the Command zone, then is the Command zone merely an extension of your hand? If you Bestow your Commander onto another creature, perhaps a more evasive creature like Tormented Soul or Daxos of Meletis, does the new creature now gain the invisible "Commander" title from your Commander that MTGO so helpfully shows along with whatever boons your Commander has? Does this other creature now count towards General Damage, or does it merely act as a vessel and only the stats printed on your Commander count towards GD?

I am glad that Chromanticore is not Legendary, if only for the simple fact that he brings up far too many questions and rulings otherwise and my brain hurts already from considering how to use him as my Commander in "5 Colors of Fun.dec".

Sorry, but no, we aren't playing that game.
And as a warning, I WILL card the first person to say "phyrexian Eldrazi" after this. No good can come from walking down this road. No good I tell you!

Fair enough, I redact my previous question Nodding the Affirmative

Honestly, I would think Mutilate would be an amazing reprint right now. 4CMC, can't effectively be splashed into anything except MBC due to the fact that it's power is strictly based upon the number of swamps you control, dodges the issue of the Regen clause from Damnation and DoJ, and (very minor reason) I also have a bit of sentimentality about it due to running it in my first deck I ever built and would love to run it in a Standard environment. While I agree that it is not nearly as flavorful as Damnation or (to a lesser extent) DoJ, it just to me seems like it would be a "safer" card in the current meta so as not to risk completely overpowering Esper control with 8 nukes. In all honesty, this would probably be my deck going forward if Mutilate came back (rough draft):

Hate to tell you, but that is pretty unlikely.
For one, it's going to be pretty hard for them to even know about it and impossible for them to get to it since... it's already on another world.

Besides that, the Progress Engine is actually working with Memnarch's soul traps, so THAT is likely how they are going to transcend planar limits.

I wasn't saying that that particular object is what they are trying to pursue. Only that they are likely trying to do something similar. Thank you for clarifying though Smile

...Separately, though, I wouldn't mind seeing a set/block arranged like Urza's Saga, which spanned various worlds, so we can revisit the Phyrexians at the same time as the Eldrazi, etc.

That would be an evil block, yet *snip* epic story having the Eldrazi battle the Phyrexians over who gets to destroy the plane they meet on. XD Speaking of, who would win? Lol

Per MTGS Forum Rules, "Casual use of words such as 'retarded'... are disallowed, as it is insensitive and offensive." Please don't use that word in the future.

Honestly, the best precon deck I have seen in paper is the M14 event deck. That one had an even balance that let it very consistently turn 4 people, especially in a more casual game. I never tried it in an FNM, and don't know if it is still standard if you want to play it at FNM, but it was a fun balance between Gruul's Bloodrush ability and simple G/R aggro. Also it includes some decent money cards such as Stomping Ground, which at the time all but paid for the deck itself if I recall correctly.

So, you're telling me that Koth ( a PW don't care for ) may be dead and that the Mirrodin resistance ( a plane I absolutely loathe ) is all but lost? This is going to be a good new year.

As far as I am aware, yes XD Honestly though, I wouldn't mind a new Koth (and a new Tibalt, for that matter.) I primarily want a 2.0 for each of them so that we can maybe get better playable versions, like Sorin did to Lord of Innistrad; he went from "LOLOL you're almost dead now" to "I need bodies, check; I need stronger bodies, check; you've got too much stuff, let me help you out with that." I see Sorin LoI as much more universally playable, despite his more color restrictive mana cost. I would love to see that for Koth and Tybalt. As far as Mirrodin being gone, I fully suspect the Praetors are trying to find a way to travel off plane a la Venser's planeswalking vessel he almost finished before he died.

This is a Standard Pauper deck I threw together on MTGO out of cards I had (for the most part, I only had one Doorkeeper when I first built it. Still had plenty of store credit scattered around so that wasn't an issue lol.)

I like this deck because it is so limited in it's focus, and how it goes about doing it. I have tested this previously (prior to including the black.) It was only a single match, and the opponent was running a Brg deck that proceeded to walk through me (literally) game 1 (mana screwed) and ended up timing out with 5 cards left in his deck after my having 11 defenders and the only Doorkeeper in the deck at the time burning through him, alongside several [/CARD]Thassa's Bounty[/CARD]'s.

What do you guys think? Do you know of any better defenders I could be using? I do not have any Axebane Guardians yet, which would work very well with Doorkeeper, and all that I know is that when this deck wins, it will be by the power of Fblthp! XD Also, as much as I want to use Totally Lost for obvious flavor reasons, I just can't justify the CMC, despite such high costs as Thassa's Bounty and Murmuring Phantasm.

As of now, all we know is that Koth forced Elspeth to planeswalk away from Mirrodin right at the last moment. Until The Lost Confession was published, I had been under the impression that Elspeth had fled a lot sooner. She had always came across as a bit of a selfish coward to me, at least until I learned more about her through the Shards of Alara book. As far as we are aware, Koth could have walked away as the spellbomb went off, or he could have died in the explosion. We simply won't know until he becomes the (unlikely) face of some as yet unknown block in the future. Maybe we will find out when Elspeth returns in the Return to New Phyrexia block in 2017 XD

They probably choose the lousiest walker Vs an acceptable walker that sees reasonable amount of Standard play. And one that isn't too expensive. Cue from the past Duel Decks.

It's likely we'll see Kiora Vs Ashiok, but Xenagos being a decent antagonist I won't be surprised if he's shooed in. Hopefully Xenagos Vs Ajani (would have preferred Elspeth though)

I would love to see either Kiora vs Ashiok or Kiora vs Xenagos, preferrably the former DD. I don't want two Naya colored DD from the same block. However, it is still a good year off before we have a clue what we are up for.

At least, if they absolutely have to use Elspeth (which is rather likely,) make it vs Ashiok or Kiora. Esper/Bant is much better to me than constant WGR being shoved down my throat...

Domri is my RG god <3

While it would be hilarious to see Domri, God of Destruction, I sincerely doubt that it would ever happen and would open so many plot questions it's not even funny. However, I am currently 0-1 in regards to BNG speculation, so take that for how you will XD

I started playing shortly after Gatecrash released, and I have to say that overall the format was pretty fun to me, if only by the variety of decks I ran myself. I had comfortably built my own Selesnya tokens; UWR control (no Sphinx or Terminus) which then evolved into a UW Lavinia of the Board Lockdown after DGM released, (it was particularly nasty after M14, but I digress; ) a Boros aggro that wasn't great but could really put some damage out; a Biovisionary combo deck (still have it, simply tweaked a bit to stay standard; ) and a Bant Elf tribal that did not run Craterhoof Behemoth and could still fairly easily put 40+ damage out in a turn. My Bant Elves actually beat a RDW in tournament at one point, which made me proud because it wasn't the speediest of decks.

Green was the color to play in the format, I do remember seeing that more than experiencing it. In my local meta it was a lot of Jund midrange, Naya blitz, Junk Reanimator was there, but not that big that I saw. A buddy of mine even had a turn 4 BUG aggro deck that was pretty nasty combining Experiment One with Lotleth Troll, Varolz, and something else, I think primarily Simic Charm.

Honestly, I dunno about the Tier 1 Mono-B devotion, but I know that mine runs an intentionally higher curve (I run Sanguine Bond to pretty good effect, as well as Abhorrent Overlord and the obvious 4 Garys.) Dark Confidant would be destined to go into Mono-B but I don't know how truly successful it would be. Right now, most B devotion decks need the higher population at 4/5 cmc to function and win properly, topping out with Gary. Where would Dark Confidant fit in when he consistently reveals a Whip of Erebos or Gary? Are there enough GOOD cards in MonoB to where Dark Confidant would even be playable? Or is every deck going to be the following?
