Loads of things. Besides brews there is quite a few T1/T2 decks that use bigger creatures.
Eldrazis
Tasigur
Gurmag
Shadow
Titan
Baloth
Goyf
Big Flayer
Knight of the Relinqary
Master of Eterium
Merfolk with two lords
Slivers with two lords
Elves with two lords
Humans with counters
There sure is exceptions here. Flaying is betters vs dredge and Vizier combo. Maybe some more matchups, but I think the list shows quite a few regularly played creatures that BLR hit thaat Flaying don't.
I've actually started to play one Bontu's Last Reckoning main over a Dismember.
Fatal Push is great, its amazing. What Fatal Push can't hit, Dismember/Smallpox can take care of (or Lily). We have single target removal clearly taken care of. What I usually lose to is swarm tactics that I can't handle. Damnation has always been too slow but Bontu's Last Reckoning is very much on curve.
10-14 main removal package is what most play (not counting Liliana of the Veil). Those concist of 3-4 Fatal Push, 4 Smallpox, 1-2 Dismember, 0-4 Collective Brutality and 0-2 Funeral Charm. I propose that y'all try a one-of Bontu's Last Reckoning instead of the earlier mentioned cards.
Hello y'all!
This may or may not be the best place to ask but, is there a mardu tokens thread? Anyways I'll make a little post and if there is I'll go over there. I hope I can get some tips from you anyway, fellow token players. =)
I whipped toghether a quick deck for FNM to shake my meta a little (usually play 8rack) and went 3-1, beat merfolk, burn and goblins but lost to valakut in the final rounds.
Overall a fun deck even though a bit vulnerable. Some card were clearly not sogood in the deck and after a little concideration I tweaked it like this. I'd love fore some input on the deck. Cheers!
Black devotion would be the closest to what you want. And then maybe as aa 2-of sweeper.
8-rack is a good deck to look at since you often get them hellbent and low on stuff at the battlefield. The problem here is that 8-rack caps out at 3 mana, max 4. So no big Torments can be had there.
I have a question for y'all. I'm a long time 8rack player who decided to switch decks for a while. Right now I'm building a mono green tron and would like some help and suggestions.
Thanks in beforehand! (Off topic, is this a real saying? Its one in my native language so I kinda used it without thinking, lol)
1) I'm missing two cards main, what would be good here?
2) What cards could I use in my sideboard?
I'm currently messing around with a build that includes Liliana, the Last Hope. This is where I'm at at the moment.
Also, I ran 3 Fatal Push with 2 Dismember for a very long time. Now I've exchanged one Dismember for a main Bontu's Last Reckoning which performs well.
Well for me Terminus is more of a sideboard card tbh, but I can see the use of a few Temporal Mastery. The hard part would be trimmig of the cards that can be. This is always the hard part. -_-
So I've been captured by the thought of running a modern miracles deck. I'm sure many have had this notion besides me so I come here with the hope of discussing potentional cards for the deck.
Please tell me any and all ideas you've tried. Down below is the list I so far have theorized together.
Black has left that part of the color pie so a modern legal Dark Ritual won't likely happen. Red is the color that offers quick mana with cards such as Desperate Ritual or Simian Spirit Guide.
A card that I believe/want to be modern playable is Spreading Algae. It needs(?) to be in a BG shell but no matter how I brew it doesn't come out right.
Hi!
I just sleeved up this deck and played some games with it this friday. It felt super sweet and very stable! A great deck with many options!
Now, I was reading through the forums and saw discussions about Serum Visions.
I must agree that it gives some very awkward moments. Is Sleight of Hand a better cantrip for this deck? It digs one less but you get to choose which card to pick. Is that an advantage that outweigh Serum Visions disadvantage with this deck?
Get me on this, Serum Visions is the best (non-banned) cantrip in modern IMO, but not necessarily in every deck. Can GDS be one of these?
Anyway, I had a few questions to you guys who knows the deck. Hos good/bad is Faithless Looting? I know it is a card loss and bad top deck, but you dig 2 cards and fills your graveyard with the two worst cards.
Second question is Plunge Into Darkness. It is a instant two mana cantrip that digs deep and is a controlled life loss. Playable?
