Awesome to see your getting such consistent results. I recently changed to uw miracles from traditional uw control and have loved casting 1 mana wraths.
My build though has 2 additional wraths (1 verdict, 1 wrath), and 2 think twice over the 4 serum visions.
How have you found sv? The think twice hv been nice to sometimes get a miracle in opp turn, but still unsure about it. Keen to hear your thoughts. Cheers
Your replacing wall of omens with goyf which seems like a much more proactive plan and then you get abrupt decay which can deal with creatures, Planeswalkers and artifacts.
So after the world's it looks like we have 2-3 flex spots with dismember/ee taking up the slots as extra removal in place of spellskite and Skyspawner.
Was doing some research and came across beast within. What do ppl think abt this? Versatile and shouldnt care about the token too much, displacer could also take care of it easily. Thoughts? Or is the 3cmc just too much/slow?
thought id just post my list here for some feedback
I took inspiration from the recent success of the BUG midrange/control deck that has been doing well, but because I dont want to get a playset of Gofys, decided to replace the green with white. Souls / Tarpits / Tasigur are the finishers, with white giving Path, and Esper Charm.
Ashiok is so fun to play with and amazing, even if I dont hit a creature, milling 6 cards is just great. Getting rid of threats, lands, always have had good value from him
The 1 of Narset is just for testing, it looks like great value with cards like Esper Charm, Path, Cryptic, and souls (the dream) but at cmc4 im thinking its too slow for modern. This will probably become the 3rd Ashiok.
2 Cliques help with some beatdowns and further disruption. I was thinking of going with Geist, but have preferred to stay at instant speed
Played against a variety of decks and done pretty well, Esper Charm is a great card to get further gas and as mentioned Ashiok is just fun to play with.
Ive really enjoyed playing this deck, as you can hold the board with early disruption/counters, and then try and take over with souls and tarpits
so whats the sideboard plan with the new rug build (4 dtts, 2 twin, 4 deceivers)? Do we side out the combo completely and just rely on control/goyf beatdowns??
Siding out the combo completely is wrong because the tempo plan only works properly when people fear the combo.
So whats the sideboard plan against those that bring in hate for the combo?

So with the new fetches , I really want to try out bug faeries. Hv people tried it and is green worth the splash for goyf and decay?
I'm coming up with a deck list and will share soon, keen to hear people's thoughts though

Interestingly enough, I think this manabase isn't that bad and just as smooth as bw. You only need green for 6 cards
I felt like the walls/souls wasn't strong enough to protect the Gideons or have a good plan B wincon.
Went through a bunch of options at the 2 drop - Bitterblossom, dark confident etc, but what better 2 drop is there than goyf??
Adding green also gives access to abrupt decay for further removal.

Would help with the gy hate for all the control and abzan company around, and also some lifegain.
Thinking of cutting 1 displacer and the flex spot for these
is he just too taxing in junk?

Appreciate any comments/criticism you may have
So whats the sideboard plan against those that bring in hate for the combo?
Any chance of sharing your sideboaring strategies against the decks you came up against?
Thanks and good luck for the next tournament
