It looks like our favorite spectator at Starcitygames is using his godbook to buy out all of Trostani, Selesnya's Voice.
They really should start doing something about this. It's insider trading.

  • posted a message on Welcome Back Alex Bertoncini!
This thread is dedicated to one of the most respected players in the magic community, Alex Bertoncini.

Over the years, Alex Bertoncini has been one of the top players in the US, no the world. His abilities, quick thinking and flexability with the Merfolk deck has been legendary, as such are his contributions to developing and supporting the deck itself.

While in more recent times he has been the victim of negativity from other players, Alex has still managed to continue supporting the game he loves.

This thread is our personal dedication to the man who, inspite having served as scapegoat for the magic community, has continued to work hard and be an inspiration to us all.

This post will be updated daily, showing the current time before our hero, Alex Bertoncini, will be allowed to play the great game of Magic, The Gathering.

    Alex Will Return In:
    34 Days!

  • posted a message on How Much Support Does WotC Give to Legacy Currently?
It's not like we're seeing a decline in wotc support. Over the last three years, there has consistently been at least 2-3 gps for legacy. That's 2-3 gps for a card base that can't be reprinted due to the time honored pact that wizards made for their loyal card collectors. I for one, couldn't be happier with the current support.

  • posted a message on How viable is WW in modern?
If death and taxes is considered white weenie, I'd say its quite viable. Otherwise, they'll need to create some way of card filtering, aka white brainstorm, for the deck to have some consistency.

What this really shows is that they should consider unbanning mental misstep. The card itself is a great equalizer that can singlehandedly slow down the format.

While it's a shame this card wasn't a merfolk. A 2u casting cost for an indestructable scry 1, that can give people unblockable is nothing to scoff at. I think this will still make it's way into standard and modern decklists.
