What's the strategy against Ad Nauseam? Guy in my local meta is piloting it. Haven't played him yet but haven't played against the deck before either. Just want to be prepared.
Hey guys! I'm coming over to Jeskai from GDS. I think the meta is too linear to keep playing with it, and I think Jeskai control can really handle decks like humans and affinity really well.
My question is about sideboarding. What are some of the more difficult matchups for Jeskai at the moment? I'm running a list that closely resembles Benjamin Nikolich's with two teferi. Only major difference is one Gideon Jura main in my build.
What's the best way to deal with RG Tron? Guy showed up at FNM last night playing Tron and we have a small group. We were all unprepared for it. I was thinking of running Spreading Seas as a way to slow him down. Is this viable?
Does anyone have any good recommendations on how to modify the deck to fit a local meta that's not full of tier 1 decks? Lots of decks in my meta are slow and grindy and heavy on creatures. Spell Snare is a dead card in my hand most of the time so I've cut it from the mainboard. Running lots of single target removal and a full set of Mana Leak.
I don't think we should be playing a mana investment creature because we use all of our mana almost every turn, for Jeskai charm i am going for a 2 of in my deck because it is super good vs creatures like Whisperwod elemental or the mentioned Hangarback Walker also i am going for a more controlish deck looking at marc tobiash version getting rabblemaster out of the deck for his underperforming.
People are having to figure out how to play around him though. Even as a 1/1, if he dies, he leaves a body behind in the form of a thopter. I like how he's been playing for me so far.
I dunno about you, but I don't always have a mantis rider in my hand on t3, and having somewhere to invest that extra mana left open after casting a 2 drop seems worthwhile.
I've been brewing up the cards i need for this new version of jeskai tempo ( been playing the jeskai dragons dickman made and i really didnt liked it ) and it seems like a great deck, really eficient and once you see the deck in play it really needs to play on curve, as dickman said Dragonlord ojutai followed by Stratus Dancer morphed is one of the best plays this deck is capable to do, that makes 26 lands really necesary, also do not forget that we have virtually 7 Soulfire Grand Master up to Ojutai's command.
Kevin Jones ran pretty much the same decklist at the SCG Open this past weekend and got 4th, losing to the eventual winner in the semi's.
I'm pretty much gotten bored watching Abzan decks stare each other down on coverage, so this was a refreshing change of pace. I think some other pros are growing tired of abzan too. I think there were 3 Jeskai decks in the top 32 of the SCG Open this weekend.
Primarily combo, but I'm also curious which matchups I need to side out Teferi and Jace.
Thanks for the heads up though - going to give it a look!

17 land deck. I'm liking only running 3 snaps mainboard. Bauble's and serum visions together with only one k command in the 75.

My bet is we get another 3 mana counter in BFZ.
