That Kiora is beautiful. I absolutely have to have one.

Also, I could see them giving us Gideon, Nixilis and Kiora in BFZ and Nissa and Chandra (and Jace?) in OOG. The art on the boosters is ALWAYS on cards in that set, so we know that those arts are on cards in BFZ.

Kozilek and Emrakul are already confirmed to have escaped into the blind eternities. It is only Ulamog who remains on Zendikar.

So yeah, Emrakul and Kozilek should be wreaking havoc on some unnamed planes as the events for BFZ unfold.
I hate to be the one to point out, but wizards seem to purposely dance around saying this at every opportunity. I can't find a single time they've "confirmed" this, instead always saying that Ulamog is the only one that has been seen recently. It may be 99% likely that they have left, but you shouldn't state it as fact without said confirmation. (That said, if I've missed said confirmation, feel free to post it.)

I thought Maro answered a question regarding this at one of the panels that Ulamog is indeed the last Eldrazi titans to remain on Zendikar?
I can't find that, but even if I could, MaRo has gotten story wrong in the past. The creative team strongly emphasized that the other two just haven't been seen, and outright refused to answer a question about whether they have left the plane or not.

The general assumption that the two titans were confirmed gone has been going on FAR longer than PAX though. I'm surprised that it never gets called out, which is why I did.

As for Return to Kamigawa, I seem to recall a Blogatog conversation where MaRo asked if we'd be ok with going back to find it being eaten. It got a resounding yes, which may indicate a slim possibility that this could happen. (It's still Kamigawa, which has inherent problems, but it'd also give them an established world that lost to the Eldrazi AND get rid of it so that we can never again return, so they could do it. Lower probability if the current block ends with Zendikar dying.)

To everyone saying the Eldrazi need to destroy Zendikar to be taken seriously (my quote button is broken), actually Wizards could also have Emrakul or Kozilek show up in some random plane and eat it in weeks because the land is not fighting back. Not a new plane specifically created for that, mind you, just a plane that won't be missed too badly. Vryn seems like it could be a good candidate as it has very little flavor, but still carries emotional weight for players.

Well, that would be one way for Maro to stop people from bugging him about a return to Kamigawa Rolleyes

He actually asked on his tumblr once "Would you be OK with the return to Kamigawa being it suddenly being eaten by the Eldrazi?" to an overwhelming majority "yes". It was quite surprising.

So Maro said that he made a list of all the mechanics and put them in order of what they considered the expectation would be about them returning to Zendikar. They then drew a line and the ones above it were returning. So lets play the game to and see what we come up with ....

    Landfall
    Zendikar races - Allies / Merfolk / Elves /Vampires / Goblins / Kor
    Eldrazi
    Enemy Fetches
    Man Lands
    ----------------
    Annihilator
    Traps
    Quests
    Level Up
    Kicker / Multi/Kicker
    Rebound
    Totem Armor

Sorry, but why is Totem Armor last place? It seemed like a good mechanic.

My problem with the story is that Gideon can planeswalk freely, like a pre-mending walker?

Is this walking thing a retcon too?

Sorry, I don't quite understand this. What do you mean "freely"? He is a planeswalker. Planeswalking is the point.

My question if Eldrazi eat mana, what do they you know pass out? I wonder if in reality they are dominia's way of rebuilding planes by consuming old planes and passing out new ones. Would be pretty sick if that was the case.

On another point, who checks the stories before they are released? I mean I read Limit as soon as it was released, dear God the amount of spelling mistakes I found. I thought all stories had to be proofread before release?

Didn't the proofreader recently die in a car accident?

The recycling planes thing is a cool idea though. Almost makes them sound like a necessary evil.

I think it's probably, on the subject of Alhammaret "forgetting how to breath", a matter more related to... I don't know what to call it, but it's like spinning something in way that makes you go "whoa!" if you get what I mean. Rather than having a technical explanation for what happened, it's more dramatic or attention-grabbing to go "he forgot how to breath". There's a phrase or word for this but I'm blanking on it at the moment. It does make for a pretty stark statement so I can't fault them too much for going for the more showy thing rather than some other explanation. I wonder how a telepath would actually kill someone. Has Jace ever killed anyone else, or has he always just turned them into vegetables or whatever besides Alhammarret? I actually don't even know technically what it means to be a "vegetable".

It means to render someone in a vegetative state. "The vegetative state is a chronic or long-term condition. This condition differs from a coma: a coma is a state that lacks both awareness and wakefulness. Patients in a vegetative state may have awoken from a coma, but still have not regained awareness. In the vegetative state patients can open their eyelids occasionally and demonstrate sleep-wake cycles, but completely lack cognitive function. The vegetative state is also called a "coma vigil". The chances of regaining awareness diminish considerably as the time spent in the vegetative state increases."

Also consider that every year we've gotten two or more brand new planeswalkers. (Or at least, walkers who had not previously been printed as walkers.)

Khans block - Ugin & Narset
Theros - Xenagos, Kiora & Ashiok
Ravnica II - Vraska, Ral & Domri
    Innistrad - Tibalt & Tamiyo
Mirrodin II - Venser, Koth, & Karn
    Zendikar - Nissa, Sorin & Gideon (?)
Alara - Bolas, Sarkhan, Elspeth & Tezzeret

So it's likely each new two-set block will have one new planeswalker. They might tone it down a bit, because they've already got a pretty large cast, but maybe they don't mind having some folks be one-offs.

    Fix that list for you.

And yeah, it makes sense that they'd add new walkers. But the next story already has more planeswalkers that allowed connected to the storyline, so if they are going to deviate from that rule any time soon, it'll be then.

My excitement level for the combined Origins planeswalkers is => 0

As an EDH player, it's very hard to be excited about any of these. Slant

I'm happy about some of them, but I see them as part of the 99. Also, you wrote equal to or greater than 0...

I hope all ten planes from origins get one of these. Can never have enough cool multi-color uncommon cycles. It's pretty neat for an uncommon, and is certainly good for limited. Trample may have made it constructed worthy, but we'll never know.

Speculation time: Which plane should get each gold uncommon? My guesses:

    WU - Ravnica
    UB - Innistrad
    BR - Regatha
    RG - Zendikar
    GW - Bant
    WB - Dominaria
    UR - Kaladesh
    BG - Lorwyn
    RW - Theros
    GU - Vryn

I feel like Theros has been stated as being greenish by MaRo enough times that if it wasn't G/W he'd be shot down on Tumblr for ages.

Also, with the mage rings plane card caring specifically about instants and sorceries, I'd guess that Vryn is the U/R plane.

My guesses, with the planes being aligned with their respective walkers, would be something like:

    WU - Bant
    WB ~ Dominaria
    BG ~ Innistrad
    RW ~ Kaladesh
    GU ~ Lorwyn
    UB ~ Ravnica
    BR ~ Regatha
    GW - Theros
    UR - Vryn
    RG - Zendikar

Where ~ is a projection, rather than an assertion.

It seems highly unlikely that Innistrad isn't balck/white as it is most literally that. Although if shown early enough (before Sorin makes Avacyn) it could be black red. Blue green or Green Black seem like good fits for Lorwyn. Probably G/B as that is the elves colour and the are dominant at that time.

Kaladesh feels very red/blue, although RW is an option. Actually if some of these could be used to show conflict, it could be UW and shown as rejecting of Chandra's philosophy which would be pretty sweet. Regatha we know little about, but "Plane where monks train you in fire magic" doesn't sound very red/black to me.

    So I like

    Kaladesh RU
    Regatha RW
    Innistrad WB (or RB)
    Lorwyn GB
    Zen RG

which leaves RB, UB, GW, UW and UG. UG is the hardest to fit, I think, as UG seems totally wrong for ravnica (although it does sort of fit the world wide community aspect).

I got back into magic just as Innistrad finished, so I was guessing a bit with that. If that's the case, I'll go with.

WU - Bant (Bant should be WU or GW, and I'm pretty certain Theros will be GW, so it follows that Bant would be WU.)
BG - Dominaria (Wild card, it's hard to pin Dominaria down. Gave it black because of Lili.)
WB - Innistrad (See above, Innistrad is definitely black, and I guess white seems appropriate as a secondary.)
RW - Kaladesh (Red because it's Chandra's home plane, white because of the oppressive government that plays her antagonist.)
GU - Lorwyn (Green because Nissa, blue because of the unnatural worldshift thing it has that was brought about by the blue Fae.)
UB - Ravnica (Blue for obvious reasons, black because it's a city where everyone is vying for power.)
BR - Regatha (Red because Chandra, black because it's the only red pair left.)
GW - Theros (White because of Gideon and Soul of Theros, green because MaRo has stated that Theros feels green.)
UR - Vryn (Mage rings, instants and sorceries, UR. Probably my most flimsy assertion, but I still believe it's true.)
    RG - Zendikar (Locked in.)

EDIT: Non-incarnate multicolor card revealed. My bets are off.

Maybe they meant the last Jorga animist. Hence why it mentions it at the same time as explaining that she was cast out, and why vastwood, the topic of this thread, appears in her name along with the name of the new animist. She was cast out, found the vastwood elves, and taught them the magic that got her cast out.

If the demon's being dead due to something other than Lili rules them out, then isn't Nefarox also ruled out? IIRC, Kaalia killed him in her UR.

YDNRC Smile She did not kill him there.

Darn, I knew something serious went down. I don't know why I thought she'd killed him. Option is open again.
