I disagree with an abundance of two mana spells. To me drawing a hand of two lands and a mix of creatures/removal/discard means you can sequence your plays so that something like flayer comes down as a 4/4. Or a bob resolves and you are in top deck mode. Importantly all these 1-2 mana spells allow for double spell turns which is key to getting ahead.
Your cuts are exactly my thinking at this stage. Pulse and decay will still have use. I am cutting down one path as I play it main. I am running Rhino and Bobs and wont be changing that for now but I am sure it will.
In the side I can see cutting down to 0-2 Fulminators. I also think surgical extraction is a must. For example blowing up Valukut and then extracting them all is nice
I feel that FoR is best in the BG shell where with tracker it truly shines. I tried 2 at one time but didn't like it. i don't think we have enough basics to make it work. You risk turning paths into better swords to plowshares. I could see 3 LoTV so I can fit LtLH back in as the 4th walker. That would also allow me to keep EE in the board. I just cant go past having 4 LoTV sometimes haha. Might give it a try.
23 lands and my land package is fairly standard and the right amount imo
To keep the discussion going here is my latest list. This list has been getting me consistent 4-1's, 3-2s online. Alas still no trophy but every loss is either out of my hands or a good lesson for next time.
Main things of note. Have tried damping sphere but prefered the versatility of Fulminator Mage. Kalitas is the flex slot and he has won me so many games. 2 Damnations due to humans and general aggro decks. Cast Down has been great for me so far, instead of one path. I have won games due to not ramping opponents and also not needing to aggressively fetch. Brutality main has also been very good helping several game ones such as UWR control. Current things in my mind are whether to go for EE still or Thrunn. Love EE but havent seen as much bogles lately/as before. Seeing a lot of burn, control, and amulet titan. Also affinity on the uptick hence the need/want of 3 stonies. It also shores up tron somewhat.
Agree with that elspeth is not needed. It is at the top of the curve for a beatdown deck to finish opponents off. I am testing Shalai at the moment. What are others experience of her? She seems somewhat win more but I am trying her as a one of in the main of the centralised list.
I agree with this completely. Treetop is better if your white costs aren't too high. I tried damping sphere last night and cast down in paper. I went 2-1. Beat elves and strom and lost to bogles. Need more testing but cast down felt good. Sphere was obviously nuts against storm.
I am currently running one sphere instead of a fulminator mage. Online I am seeing less tron. Sphere is good against combo too. I think Thrun is too slow personally. Worship is a cool idea. Atm I am trying baloth. I also like kalitas. The problem is some starts the game is effectively over by turn 3.
what is everyone sideboard plans for Hollow One? The only thing I am confident on is 4 LOTV out for 2 Damnations, 2 Spellbombs. Interested what other slots people take out. For reference I am playing the centralised list.
yeah you are right besides stonies. So likely 3-4 targets. I think it will likely be the combination of cards will be telling in how games play out.
I hope now we get some people back on the abzan forum. The centralised list is still good and Jund has a big target on its back. Havent seen as many good placings for Jund recently
I think Damping Spehere will definitely find a home in sideboard as a one or two. I agree that Surgicals appears to be the logical card to cut. I could also see cutting both surgicals for one sphere and for another bullet card like Thrunn. the only concern I have is it may mean tron runs 3-4 natures claim as there will always be a good target.
How has everyone's testing been going. I have done really well since switching back to the centralised list. I think its a combination of cards lining up well and comfortably playing the deck. My current list is the following.
