Posting for the first time but I'm a long time lurker. Like slater I'm a mtgo player so I'm waiting to get released this weekend before beginning testing. However, I did play golgari in block and did some limited testing this week so I just wanted to share some thoughts on several cards.
Underworld connections- drawing more than one a game can be annoying so I'm going to play a split between these two and read the bones.
Vraska- she is very good against control and has stopped jace in his tracks
Deathrite- a bit of a pet card but he has saved games or ended them. Would gladly trade him for a burn spell most games. Very good against control as well
Lbz- I wasnt too impressed but would be better in the sideboard. I'm keen to try maybe the boon satyr main as a 3 of
Gaze of granite- accelerating into this is gravy especially when followed up with the demon. So far I have 2 main board but it might need to be more in the first few weeks. RDW will be everywhere.
Lolteth troll- in block was an all star and was a three drop anyway except against control. The only negative is he can't trade with the blood baron but he survives verdict.
Varolz- I don't think he fits the controlling type of deck even though he is resilient. We aren't running enough creatures I think to make him as worthy. Not too mention ooze is already eating all the creatures.
The removal suite has been a work in progress. Devour flesh has been good but I hate having to set it up. Which is another reason that I think satyr might be a good option. More flexibility
With polukranos instead of gaze. Is there anything they can do in response to it going monstrous. Rdw that is? That is the only thing that seems shaky to me compared to granite.
Finally love everyone's work. The deck seems like it will a major force once the chinks are worked out.
