Reprint the Battle for Zendikar Expedition Lands in non-foil so we can play uncurled cards. That would help.

Damn the art on Storm God's Oracle is absolutely amazing. Well, the art in this set in general clearly has been, consistently. Is that Cymede depicted? Certainly resembles her.

    UGH ALL THESE BEATIFUL THEROS

    I ADORE

    ADORE

the art on Resurgent Belief! Grin So GORGEOUS! I can't wait to play it! Surprised Thassa's altar isn't near Purphoros though! Man that art is just bea-u-ti-ful! MINE! Grin FOREVER Grin

    GAH I LOVE THIS SET

Also, loving Disciple of the Sun! Amazing art and theme on that card too. Really into all the Sun-related cards without Heliod depictions (per story). They seem to hint that his followers have not forgotten him and he may return. Then again, a sun god is not so easily abandoned...

    Authority of the Consuls

Get a round of +1/+1 counters just about every turn for your whole team. On your turn, if you have a lifelink creature, the lifegain grows dramatically.

Here is the problem. If you attack with a creature with big attack and lifelink you get the counter after your attack and you have to wait a full turn circle until you can attack with those again.

The best way to use this is with Trostani like effects. So he does something when you cast him for freaky 6 mana or you have some way to get big life numbers in the same turn. Which can be problematic because those high life number cards cost a ton of mana. If you are able to cheat him to the battlefield and use some of those expensive big life gain cards good for you. If you already have access to 12 mana than great.
Small life gain cards just works better because they come in form of enchantments and with CC of max 3... sticking around granting you much more life in the end and adding some additional effects (like graveyard hate, control etc). As a cleric he would have been a little better. In my casual edh group he would be to slow in a lifegain deck other than Trostani.
In addition he needs another card to work. Archangel of Thune has lifelink and doesn't feels so clunky.
At the same time though, the effect can snowball quite well over successive turns. The larger your lifelink creature for example, the more life, the more power, etc. It's really so much fun. Being an enchantment gives it more synergy with cards than Archangel, including tutoring it, casting it for cheaper, and protecting it with cards like Sterling Grove.

Man this makes me wish we had Nykthos himself, the character, as a card.

Nykthos is a temple, not a character. Nyx is a character, but is female.
    Not quite.

Something I admire about Theros Creative is that they brought the real-world concept of "myths are embellished realities" to the design of the plane.

Playing on the trope, Nykthos is the main shrine to the gods, but is also actually named after Nykthos, the Divine Artisan who built and designed the temple, who was the very first Nyxborn, created by Kruphix and tasked with constructing the temple to honor the pantheon. Nkythos was slain on the Four Winds Plateau, which is a major historical event in Theros history.

Nyx is the night sky where the gods dwell. Therefore, there is in fact a Legend named Nykthos, without a card.
