Way to buy into propaganda. And the Trump reference about "locker room talk" - way to push your political agendas on a card game forum and assume your opinions are the status quo, and the only right way to think. That's why everyone is sick of liberals and SJWs. Arrogance and ignorance. No one gives a damn bro, we're here for card games. Get over yourselves and off your righteous soapbox.Posted in: Articles

Which ones are intended to be Lorwyn cards? I was hoping it would be more apparent too. It looks like Conclave Naturarlists are the only ones I can think of that resemble Lorwyn.
BOO no Kamigawa or Iquatana.
2015 CMD product released in late 2014 and encompassed most of this year. I think that's why they're named after the next year.
It'll be unfortunate not to see him in Zendikar because that likely means we'd have to wait until we Return to Theros or a supplemental product to see Arixmethes, and that is anyone's guess when at that point... I asked MaRo if an Atlantis trope was considered for Theros and he said "We discussed it" or something to that effect. So I have no idea if Arixmethes was saved for Zendikar or what.
At least as big as Kozilek, so possibly even larger. I think he'll be a 12/12 if he is released.
This is my reasoning as well. Also, wearing the Boros armor means to me that he's had some relations with the Boros in order to acquire it. So unless it's a new PW I think it's Gideon who we know teamed up with that guild.

I feel like Arixmethes was the newer name by the time Godsend and the PW Guide were made because Olantin sounded too generic. But it was not in time for the Wrath printing? It's hard to gauge just when the Atlantis trope and Callaphe (Jason/Arachne hybrid trope) were contrived considering she appears in flavor text and mentioned by gods/legends but didn't recieve a card. MaRo also told me on Blogatog that an Atlantis trope was considered for Theros... and in another post he said they wanted to make an Argo as well but didn't (presumably due to room) which I'm sure is what The Monsoon became to be. But all of these are only in lore.
Looks like there's going to be a lot to anticipate for Return to Theros. The Bident could mean something but I have major doubts after this UR that Arixmethes will be in Zendikar cast by Kiora. Unless we get Duel Decks Pets of the gods feat. Polukranos, Thraxes, Arixmethes, or in Commander products or something. Wait, who are Heliod and Erebos' pets? Bet the latter has a legendary Cerebus.
Regarding casting creatures - Didn't Kiora will the creatures back into the aether once Thassa took command of them and turned them onto her own followers to prove a point? That implied, to me, that they were aether copies cast through mana bonds as Doug once described summonings and not creatures removed from planes. I don't think she needs to re-form any mana bonds with those sea monsters despite what transpired with Thassa on Theros. I am still confused, however, on how castings work with Legendary creatures. I'm guessing it works the same as other creatures, except only one can exist and be cast to do a Planeswalker's bidding at any one time (like in the game of controlling only one copy). But still, it's a Legendary aether copy, not the beast itself from the original plane based on what Doug implied. That's why the text in the UR of "will you come when I call?" seemed strange to me.
Then you get copies of copies with Clone and Phantasmal Image and yeah I give up.
Yeah it is. They all texted me the day this UR was posted too. I found it amusing actually. It's nice being known for something. I don't want to wait until Return to Theros to see what happens to Thassa though. Can't believe I'm saying this but I'm almost more interested in Thassa and the Bident's fate than I am about Arixmethes at this point.
Also fixed my error. Must have mixed up Archaeomancer with it I suppose? IDK where I thought I saw that. Blah at Lunar Mystic being a Jenrik stand-in.
Okay so now that Arixmethes is basically proven to be a thing in URs and Godsend... what was Olantin? Its original name before the PW guide and novels were written? So confused.
Thanks Wizards.
My MTG friends texted me when they read the story too. Guess I'm predictable
I read Astronomancer in the PW Guide to Innistrad. I agree Astronomer is better. I figured they made the distinction because he uses astronomy as a science combined with magic to understand the universe.
I agree about the battle. At one point Kiora even thought she was winning and we all saw how that thought ended. Thassa was asserting her command of the sea as well - I think it was both need for devotion and pride that she did things that way. Besides, it would be a boring story if Thassa snapped her fingers and Kiora died.
Dekella shrinking isn't the same as Godsend IMO. I think Thassa willed it to do so to suit her intentions of pinning Kiora. It didn't lose its divinity in doing so the way objects or creatures falling between realms have before. The Bident homed in on Kiora too, so it's clear its actions were being guided by Thassa's will, including it shrinking. I do think it can exist as any artifact can outside of Theros and have the power to control oceans and sea creatures anywhere, as it does on Theros. We saw Kiora's otherwordly krakens and leviathans go to Thassa's side during the battle, presumably because of the Bident's mind control magic (the tap ability it has) despite the fact they were from dozens of other planes and not Theros. And I have a feeling Dekella was the reason Arixmethes did not respond to Kiora's bonding attempts.
My reasoning is that Dekella seems to have its own inherent magic and we've seen before that there are spells which are common in all the multiverse that mages are aware of - such as Kiora referencing a "Mind Control" spell when communicating with Arixmethes, or how Elspeth figured out Thassa did not use her oracles through mind control magic. What I'm saying is, I think Dekella's magic to control tides and all that is not just limited to Theros for the same reason Kiora cast a Whelming Wave on Theros despite not being Thassa - magic is universal. What I would like to know is who forged Dekella? Did it exist with Thassa when Thassa was dreamed up by Theros as the sea god? Was it forged by belief? Or did the gods exist and Purphoros forged them weapons?
Why does Thassa always have to get screwed by Creative. This is just plain rude. They better make up for it by having Dekella in Kiora's art. Or even better, make a new Enchantment Artifact card actually called Dekella in Zendikar and give it cool new ocean abilities. Thassa's Bident floating over Zendikar's seas. Painted by John Avon. A little roil in the background, some hedrons here and there...
