As you expect a heavy branch in Burn and token.
I try to abuse Skirk prospector by emptying my hand quickly and finishing my opponent with a flurry of burn-spells (Stoke, Bolt, Grenade, Firebrand).
A card i guess is a must is pashalik mons?
Thanks for your responses!
i'm a dedicated Eldrazi and TAxes Player.
Lately the deck disappointed a bit as the format is brutally fast.
In the past i also played various Spell Queller decks (Bant Knightfall, UW Hatebears), so i've decided to switch to UW Death and TAxes for now.
Here's my list:
What's your guidance towards improving the list?
It tries to out-tax the opponent with FoR, Quarter, Arbiter, Thalia, Wanderer and Queller to get ahead with reflector mage and militia bugler.
So maybe there is a Mardu or Jund Deck that contains some amount of these cards.
Propably along Life from the Loam?!
Has someone a good intention?
It could be even something with Flameblade Adept, Goyf, Seismic Assault and so on.
Budget is not a concern
Cards i own
literally all fetchlands, a whole bunch of FAstland just missing Blackcleave Cliffs, a lot of shocklands, some manlands.
Liliana, Loam, Goyf and every BGx staple except Bob and K.Command are in my binders.
I've played BW Eldrazi and Taxes in an FNM today and it felt totally right, right now.
My bad draws equals those bad draws of the "totally busted decks" ( like KCI, HollowOne, Bridgevine, etc.) and there was nothing else i would have changed.
I won against Jund and Elves, lost to Living End. It felt great to compete with those decks because my pile wasn't even fancy or doing sth. totally busted.
Any takes on following sideboard:
2 Burrenton Forge-Tender
2 Leyline of the Void
3 Stony Silence
2 Rest in Peace
2 Gideon, Ally of Zendikar
2 Selfless Spirit
2 Liliana, the Last Hope
Local meta is quite varied but g/b/x combinations are the most common. How are you guys finding the deck these days? I play mtgo also and u/w control seems to be rather common these days... Half tempted to put Summoning Trap in the sideboard
I have never been a huge fan of Rock-style decks in MOdern, i think the following decks does count as midrange too:
Bant Knightfall - a creature-based midrange deck with a combo-finisher in Retreat to corallhelm
Bant Eldrazi - a creature based midrange deck with huge threats and a bunch of ramp/dig-spells (Hierarch, Birds, Stirrings)
Kiki Chord - a creature based midrange deck with a combo-finisher in Kiki-Jiki / Resto Angel
WB Eldrazi Processor - a creature-based midrange deck focusing on attacking the graveyard and 2-for-1'ing with cards like Wasteland Strangler, Lingering Souls and Reality Smasher
GR Eldrazi - a creature based Aggro/Midrange deck with a minimum of interaction (Bolt, Dismember, TKS)
Death's Shadow variants - the better rock-style decks (more disruption, a faster clock, hughe threats)
the difference between these and attrition-style decks like Pyromancer, Jund etc. is a very proactive approach that doesn't try to solve all the problems opponents present. I'm a big believer in decks that mix up different approaches to the midrange category - i.e. Midrange-Combo, Aggro-Midrange, Ramp-Midrange.
Relying on removing and answering threats alone will not revisit the midrange archetype. It's either better digging / cantripping, ramping into bigger threats, including an "oops, i win"-button or going over the top.
i'm playing Dredge on and off in 2018, right now slamming creeping chill to prepare for GP Liverpool
Do you feel the change does neuter the consistency of the deck?
So i'm missing Goyfs, Bobs, Cliffs, Tiage, Cryptics, Colonnade, Tar Pit, etc.
Is there anything i could brew up?
I was thinkin of Black with a red splash for Hazoret, the Fervent.
A lot of discard, removal, Chandra, just a pure grind deck.
Another consideration is Unburial Rites and Gifts ungiven plus Liliana.
Mono Black Devotion is another option (Obliterator, geralfs Messenger, Lili, Discard, Arena, Garry).
Yes to bloodbraid, (been using 2 mb for a while)
Not really to the ramp, as with the looting it tends to not be to hard to hit the land drops (did an analysis of my games and land drops about 6mounths ago I could probably dig it up if your interested, but basically I made 4 lands turn (or at least 4 mana turn 4) about 80-85% of the time (carnt remember exact number)).
And definitely not to mentor as vengevine is a cast trigger not etb trigger, hence why it gets the Bushwhacker trigger.
The idea is not cascading into Reckless Bushwhacker (because it doesn't trigger Surge), but add 4 Scourge Devil for flooding the board and pumping all creatures.
It's obvious that some ramp must be used (Birds of paradise doubles duty as a creature), but cascading into Myr superion and getting back Vvine sounds pretty appealing to me. This means 12 power on turn 3 (if this is working).
Also Llanowar Mentor could be used for ramp and triggering Vengevine.
Thought already about this option, but Jeskai Control and Jund / Mardu are super-common matchups in my area.
Therefore i'm looking for more resilient options.
Right now i'm jamming RG Eldrazi just because it's overly good and the interaction suite (Bolt + TKS, Obligator) is just enough to cover the most common matchups.
long time Modern player returning to Goblins after 6 years playing a couple other decks.
Here's my first draft:
16 mountains
3 sunbaked canyon
1 mutavault
Gobos
4 skirk prospector
4 fanatical firebrand
4 foundry street denizen
3 reckless bushwhacker
4 goblin bushwhacker
4 mogg war marshal
4 goblin instigator
2 dragon fodder
4 lightning bolt
4 goblin grenade
3 stoke the flames
As you expect a heavy branch in Burn and token.

It just played fair Magic
Skimp on Leyline, you got RiP already.
add another copy an you should be fine
I like Pithing Needle, Linvala, Keeper of Silence and Bitterblossom too.
No Fatal Push though? Add Shriekmaw or Orzhov pontiff for a better creature matchup.

Hello,
no, i recently switched Sheltered Thicket for a second copy of Blackcleave Cliffs.
THicket was sweet, but didn't improve the deck significantly
Edit:
What's the upside of playing Leyline over sth. like Surgical or Spellbomb?
is there any Hazoret, the Fervent Mardu list out there?
in preparation for GP Liverpool i placed 1st in a 116 player tournament.

Do you feel the change does neuter the consistency of the deck?
i've recently played UW Spirits, but preferred UW Hatebears more.
The results with Hatebears are mediocre at least, but it's a lot of fun though.
What are the obvious reasons to play Spirits over Hatebears (i'm considering switching decks)?
i recently picked up a playset Liliana of the Veil and just want to slam it into a deck.
Sadly i'm missing a lot of staples needed for BGx or Mardu (Blackcleave Cliffs TArmogoyf).
I want to figure out if there's something else i could play.
Here's what i got:
So i'm missing Goyfs, Bobs, Cliffs, Tiage, Cryptics, Colonnade, Tar Pit, etc.
