enchantment
Each creature you control with a +1/+1 counter gains flying and trample
(G/U), pay 1 life: put a +1/+1 counter on target creature
next: RWU
legendary creature - devil
Whenever Tibalt attacks, exile the top card of your library. You may cast that card this turn.
Whenever Tibalt attacks, his power is equal to the number of cards in defending player's hand, otherwise it is 1.
*/2
next: an enchantment, non-god commander
but yea using +1/+1 counters or -1/-1 counters would make it simpler, since you'd be leaching off counters that already exist, and would lead to easier synergies.
i dont think the philosopher's scroll is THAT un-set like. magic used to do very intricate interactions like that... though not so much anymore.
it'd be awesome if it was an equipment that says like:
equipped creature gains rant (whenever this creature gets blocked or blocks a creature without rant, this creature gains +1/+0 and first strike)
or preach or prattle, or any word-giving word key-word....
i think runetouched bear is a tad on the powerful side?
have you put any thoughts into the possibilities of just having a double-sided land that CAN'T transform, but you choose which side it comes into play as instead?
flooded pit (side A)
land (u)
When flooded pit comes into play, you may transform it.
Flooded pit comes into play tapped
t: add U or B to your mana pool
flooded fields
land
flooded field comes into play tapped
t: add U or W to your mana pool
Derelict Cache
Land
~ enters the battlefield tapped.
When ~ enters the battlefield, if another player gained life this turn, that player loses that much life and you gain that much instead.
t : Add black mana to your mana pool.
Campfire Ground
Land
~ enters the battlefield tapped.
When ~ enters the battlefield, if another player gained life this turn, Campfire Ground does 4 damage to that player.
t: Add red mana to your mana pool.
[-10]: Each opponent discards their entire hand. You may cast up to one target non-land card put in a graveyard this way without paying it's mana cost, then exile it.
as far as lore-ish stuff goes, isnt bolas the type that makes his enemies work for him and then he reveals himself at the last moment to rub his victory in just a tad more? i think his CMC is a bit low for an ancient-flambouyant-elder-dragon?
by the way, is the name stuck too? the term raider just feels like hes taking in slim pickings.. not very bolas-like, me-thinks.
but yea, not that amazing...
weird though that unicorns are now green... i've always thought of them as white..
i DID beat a mate of mine in 'normal' magic, him using my legacy meathooks, and me using 2 RTR draft decks that i kinda mashed together to make 60 cards with. i don't really know how THAT happened, but skill in the game probably matters a bit.
back to the topic though, 80% seems ridiculously high... is there no chance that some of these folks might just be making numbers up?
its got a surprising amount of sideways utility (mostly against forced-card draw)
spirit mirror is a very close second though...
having said that though, i don't really see anything on there about dexterity cards (chaos orb, falling star). i'm assuming that most commander players have SOME dextrous skill? is there any testing on any level by the RC on those cards?
back on the debate though, i feel bad for painter's servant. it's not like it's it's fault that hes a part of a pretty crushing combination with said angel, teysa v1, grindstone and whatnot. but since its the heart of the combo, it got the short end of the stick. in a weird way, i'd wanna see what would happen if all the other pieces it combos with banned, and the painter unbanned just to see what would happen. i imagine that it'd probably make a lot more unhappy folks than the status quo tho
i probably would too, but sun titan-recursion/skullclamp-card draw is a thing.
overall, its not all that bad. i'd play this over bird maiden.
