They confirmed on stream that Counterspell is not in the set.

What I like about the bear-fight is that it semi-solves one drawback of fight-cards of not having a large creature out.

I have high hopes for this set for cube. Hopefully the power level is there on the cool/interesting cards.

Comparisons to Looter Scooter are a bit silly, since that card is busted.

    Compared to Scroll Thief:

One mana discount, draw off hitting walkers, and +1/+0 "costs": trickier mana, rarity bump, and crew: 2?

Sounds steep. Maybe the drawing of walkers was a bit too good in this set with so many walkers? Or perhaps, that the combination of 2 power and 2 mana means you are so much more likely to be able to attack into no good blocks as soon as you drop it, meaning it can snowball in limited?

Desperate Stand is also weird as a sorcery. Seems like it should be defensive, i.e. reactive.

Are those hedrons in the background, or do we have several different floating polyhedra in mtg lore?

You already forgot something. Teferi can warp time so if he’s there he can probably reverse the desintergration

I'm not sure time reversal is within Teferi's power. It's right up his alley for sure, but we've never seen him pull it off. Karn could time travel in the past, but we were clearly told he is no longer capable of that.
I actually think the only planeswalker who could possible do that is Ugin. If he could subconsciously send Sarkhan on a journey through time, he might be able to do something about Liliana as well. Well, fingers crossed.

    Time Wipe
In short, they were now never born in the first place." —Teferi

So if the eternals were never born, they never completed the trials, they never died, they were never eternalized, the invasion never happened....? Sounds like a bad resolution..

I need to stress to people who seem to think their going to get two draws off of stuff like CoCo...your not. Your only getting a single card because alot of the cards mentioned put the card onto the battlefield, not casting it. Unless the spell states that your casting it, your not casting it.
When Fblthp, the Lost enters the battlefield, draw a card. If it entered from your library or was cast from your library, draw two cards instead.

The Devil's advocate argument for the new gravedigger is that as a two-drop, you will rarely have much to get back if you land it early, and that by the time you want to use its ability, it will often mean suiciding into something.

On the other hand, it isn't that long ago that Shambling Ghoul was in a lot of lists (wasn't it?), so the floor isn't terrible. I could also see some scenarios where you can attack this alongside something else and they have to let the other thing through in order to stop the card advantage. So you at least get some damage on top of your five mana Raise Dead. Or, that it effecetively gains you some life because they have to hold something back to block.

    You may find this interesting:

    Quote from Mark Rosewater
There’s a famous quote by car inventor Henry Ford (which he might not have ever actually said): “If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.” People can only see the future through the lens of the past.

The same is true with planeswalkers. The most we’ve ever put in a set is 6. 36 is six times that. The most common number of planeswalkers is 3. 36 is twelve times that. Sets sometimes have 2. 36 is eighteen times that.

War of the Spark, by definition, can’t just be planeswalkers the way we’ve always done them. The challenge of the design was rethinking a lot of things including what tools were available to us.

War of the Spark is not going to be planeswalker status quo, but then innovation seldom is.

Some speculations I have seen about what they can do with rare/uncommon planeswalkers that breaks with previous design is having planeswalkers with no + ability (has already been done with Sarkhan the Mad), planeswalkers with static ability, and very narrow planeswalkers, or a combination of all of these.

EDIT: Rosewater has also talked about how WAR was made possible due to new collation technology, which pretty much rules out the "planeswalker slot" solution, as that is something they could have done since forever.

My imagination may be a bit limited, but wouldn't it be hard to have a planeswalker in every pack if they aren't at uncommon?

If there are 36 rare and mythic walkers, and one in every pack that would mean that there is something going on with the rare slot, otherwise you would never get any non-planeswalker rares/mythics. I guess there could be "an intervening if clause", so if your regular rare/mythic isn't a planeswalker, then a basic or common slot is swapped out with a random walker.

Another workaround could be a specific rarity class.. so you'd have "PW-mythic", "PW-uncommon", etc, with a PW slot in each pack. But I wonder if I didn't read somewhere that it wasn't like that. Or perhaps they only said "we haven't said how we will do it yet".

But Mark Rosewater did say that we should expect different kinds of planeswalkers:

There will also be PW-synergies. From a Peasant perspective, the value of this set will hinge a lot on whether you would want to include any planeswalkers, as if they are too good/bad for Peasant, or if you as a cube-designer decide that they don't fit in your cube, then there will be a lot of PW-synergies which will be completely useless.

Furthermore, if they do put planeswalkers at uncommon, it is likely that they want them to be powerful, being the focus of the set and all, limiting how much power is left to spread around to the other uncommons.
