Well, here's what I would want out of my red elementals:
Effrit, the Impatient
Legendary Creature - Elemental Shaman
At the beginning of each end step, you may end the turn.
Next: Some sort of animal commander with a snow type.

Exile a creature or land card from your graveyard: Put a 1/1 white Spirit creature token with flying onto the battlefield.
Tap an untapped spirit you control: Untap target forest.
Next: A mono-green commander that doesn't care about creatures.

X: Draw a card, then put a card from your hand into your library under the top X cards. X can't be 0.
3, T: Name a card, then reveal the top card of your library. If you reveal the named card, exile target creature.
Next: A commander that can shuffle libraries for some sort of benefit.
Dec 21, 2014A Real Travesty posted a message on Losing an "If this becomes untapped" ability. It still triggers, right?Suppose I control a Quicksilver Elemental and anything that taps to gain control until becoming untapped, such as Rubinia Soulsinger.Posted in: Magic Rulings Archives
The Quicksilver Elemental copies Rubinia's ability and proceeds to tap to gain control of target creature until Quicksilver Elemental becomes untapped. At the end of the turn, the elemental loses this ability, and later untaps.
Because the untap is a delayed trigger from the activation, you would still lose control of the target creature, correct?
Dec 10, 2014Well rather than another Aurelia, the Warleader, how about the preventing kind?Posted in: Custom Card Contests and Games
Brioden, Sanctuary Captain 1WWU
Legendary Creature - Human Knight
Defending creatures you control get +0/+2 and first strike.
If an opponent would begin an additional combat phase, that player skips that phase instead.
Next: A commander that can win without commander damage.
Dec 10, 2014Just because that holds true for most tutors so far doesn't mean it's a set-in-stone rule. Making it a sorcery could be considered the drawback for its power. You screw over the next draw for everyone else, but in a vacuum your opponents have a chance to disrupt you back before you get your tutored card.Posted in: Custom Card Creation

Creature - Turtle
T, sacrifice a land: Put three +1/+1 counters on ~.
T, remove a counter from ~: Put a 0/2 blue Turtle creature token onto the battlefield.
T, tap two other untapped creatures you control: Return target land from your graveyard to your hand.

Jace, the Infinite Mind WUBRG
Planeswalker - Jace
+2: Until your next turn, target permanent you control gains protection from the color of your choice.
-3: The owner of target nonland permanent shuffles it into his or her library.
-15: Reveal the top twenty cards of your library. For each color, you may cast a card of that color from among the revealed cards without paying its mana cost. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in any order.
Next: A planeswalker in a race that has not been represented so far.
Dec 8, 2014A little bit board wipe, a little bit flicker. Even though you have time counters to help with memory issues, that's still potentially a lot of permanents to be shoved to the side of the table each with a different number of counters to keep track of every upkeep. I feel like it's a little too complicated to be fun for that reason, but that aside I would still put it at 6 mana at least for the power of etb effects.Posted in: Custom Card Creation
You can't be the target of spells and abilities until end of turn.
You can't cast spells until end of turn.

+2: ~ deals 2 damage to target creature or player. You gain 2 life.
-3: You get an emblem with "Whenever an opponent loses life, you gain that much life."
-8: Destroy all creatures. Each opponent loses 1 life for each creature destroyed this way.
Next: A mono-blue planeswalker that has nothing to do with card draw.

Elzuris, Cryosurgeon 2WU
Planeswalker - Elzuris
+2: Up to two target nonland permanents don't untap during their controller's next untap step.
-1: Exile target nonland permanent and put four time counters on it. If it doesn't have suspend, it gains suspend.
-8: Tap all permanents you don't control. Remove all time counters from all exiled cards you own.
(starting loyalty: 4)
Next: A primitive planeswalker from a prehistoric plane.
Nov 6, 2014Mechanically, it's alright.Posted in: Custom Card Creation
Flavor-wise, I'm not sure where it would fit in. Why does this lowly warrior's appearance make a powerful planeswalker more loyal? It's the planeswalkers that generally tell the others what to do, not the other way around.
Nov 3, 2014Posted in: New Card DiscussionQuote from coyotemoon722 »I love this guy in the Scrap deck. Just keep recycling Wurmcoils and making 3/3s when they die.
Pretty much this. Sure, the flavor suggests making an artifact copy of a normal creature, but it's obvious why this is in an artifact-heavy commander deck. Feldon is pretty crazy with artifact creatures, especially if your deck has ways of saccing them for extra benefit instead of letting them die at end of turn.
Oct 21, 2014I think Scion is arguably better since it can tutor for broken things, but the two of these together would be frightening. This is probably too good because of the potential to use the ability over and over in one turn, combining the abilities of different dragons that should never go together. I can't think of any examples off the top of my head, but making a Necrotic Ooze for dragons is quite dangerous. It should probably be limited to one use per turn like SkinshifterPosted in: Custom Card Creation
Is this a fair cost for something as potentially broken as this?

Bort, of House Blethlahem 2RWU
Legendary Creature - Human Noble
Spells your opponents cast must target at least one creature you control with the lowest toughness if able.
RWU: ~ loses hexproof until end of turn. Change the target of target spell to ~ if able.
"Declaration of war, you say? Go see Grelp; he handles those."
Next: An opposing noble who has a bit more respect for their subjects.
