EDIT: Actually, allow me to amend that. The biggest risk to pucatrade is that the owner(s) can give themselves any points at all, because if they exchange them for cards then that represents more loss when the system inevitably closes, period. That is the big payoff of the pyramid scheme, is that they can exchange a non-existent entity that will eventually lose all value and which they can generate in infinite quantity, which can then be traded to others for physical value. It is very easy to obscure that, and I'm sure it does happen. The question then becomes how long it's worth risking the use of the system before it shuts down and the value vanishes.

Oct 3, 2015AzureShadow posted a message on The Magic Street Journal: Wizards Always Hurts The Ones They LoveJust because it's pyramid scheme doesn't mean it's bad, per say. It provides a service that nowhere else does, just like one could argue that Bitcoin does, albeit an illegal one in that case. It does, though, absolutely fit the textbook definition of what a pyramid scheme is. The initial referers or payees have the highest amount of value in the system, and that collectively decreases as it spreads to the bottom.Posted in: Articles
The biggest risk to pucatrade is that the owner can give himself an account with, say, a few million points and buy up a huge pile of cards, then shut the entire thing down. I don't think that's particularly likely, but it is possible.

I'm inclined to agree with you, for the most part. Sexualization of pretty much anything happens in fantasy environments, so it's come to be expected by me and a few of my friends, who just shrug it off and ignore how silly it is.
An interesting read, for sure. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
There's a reason I stopped bothering to try discussing anything in this thread a while ago. Every few months when I check in to see what people are talking about, it's the same few suspects aggressively segueing every discussion back to the same couple of tired talking points. It's just not worth it, and I'm kind of amazed anyone else is still trying.
I'll take that loss for the overall improvement of the game, though.
Yeah no. That would not work in the slightest, because there's a huge difference between enemy fetches and a legacy-only card that's played in a couple of decks.
The UR and UG decks would be worth vastly more than the other three which would suck for retailers because they'd still have to order full sets to sell those ones, leading to hugely overstocked piles of the other three on all store shelves while the blue ones are selling for ~70 each minimum just to carry the value of the sets.
Yes, because Boros is terrible and needs a commander that isn't terrible to be worth playing.
Red and White have unique ways of providing card advantage that could be thrown onto a commander. They also have a wide variety of permanent destruction that could be thrown onto a commander. This is not any of those things, and is instead a bad, boring beatstick.
The later stages of the primary will essentially come down to Trump, Cruz, and either Rubio or Kasich once one of them gets selected to get all the Kochbux, with the possibility of Trump being eliminated early based on how stupid he is in the meantime. None of them stand a chance in the general except maybe Kasich, but I don't see that happening because of how bat***** insane the Tea Party has become.
She wants you to win with commander damage, but you have to have already done a bunch of damage with other things first for her to start getting bigger and indestructible. Then, once you kill one of your opponents she shrinks again. Never mind the fact that she does nothing to advance your gameplan by herself while being in the worst color combination in the game.
Why do you hate Boros so much, Wizards? Both of these new legends are terrible. We needed someone that gave some form of card advantage, and we got yet another mediocre beatstick.
