Might as well combo with Necrotic Ooze. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
Pretty much how I feel about it. Would you prefer he passed the turn with no play? He was gonna die regardless, might as well make it interesting.
Then again, the art for Anafenza is pretty ridiculous in terms of content.
On a separate note: the horrible CG art on Hypnotic Siren...looks so untextured...same with Temple of Abandon.
I think every set has a few stinkers in it. Theros (or Homelands 2.0) just made us more aware of things.
-EDIT: Genesis Hydra as a callback to Genesis Wave.
Besides we just had a Ravnica block 1 set ago, and M12 had Bloodrush.
If you mean cheap as in casting cost, I agree. But pricewise, MoW is above $8, Courser is close to $9, and Brimaz is $30. So...
I kinda feel like some cards are catering to the new Legend Rule, which is why there's so many of them. That's no excuse for piss-poor Legendaries, though (Anthousa, Triad of Fates, Bow of Nylea, Hythonia...)...might as call it "Legends 2.0", as the power level is in check with sets from that time. There's still a few gems sprinkled in but that's to be expected.
I think they were going for "Flavor Home Run", which also ended up with "Mechanical Fail".
I've been playing since Alara-Zendikar and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this is the worst limited I've been in. It's actually the first limited I haven't played, which is saying something. A lot of the cards are almost Homelands bad (Boulderfall comes to mind), and although there the few chase cards in the block, it's really more like "buy these packs to get that Legacy/Vintage/Modern chase card".
I understand we can't have such an awesome block like Zendikar again, but Theros is something I would expect to see in '97 or '98, not '13/'14.
I tend to like Huntmaster. Two 2/2s and 2 life for 2RG is fine by me. And if the opponent durdles, more help for me.
I'm still not sold on Ooze. I'd begrudgingly go up to 3 by cutting 1 Finks.
Finks is good. No bones about it. I'd prefer recursion and aggressiveness through 3 Finks/2 Courser than the defensive buff 3 Courser/2 Finks gives.
I'll probably cut...something...for an extra Inquisiton of Kozilek...
Slaughter Pact is golden. It was funny against Tron, between it and Sowing Salts. >w>
Yes.
