No. My main deck is Tron and I'd rather lose to Infect than play again a control deck. Combo-control like Splinter Twin is different though.

I personally liked control match-ups more when we still had Eye of Ugin and the main board Emrakul, The Aeons Torn.

    Affinity is 50/50 against Tron

Dredge drops to tier 2 or 3, infect drops down to tier 2 between the probe ban and fatal push being released, burn is relatively absent, but also negatively impacted by push

How is Tron not the clear-cut winner? Tron just saw 3 of it's major decks get knocked down a peg

Tron is will absolutely be hitting tier 1 in the next couple of months, and be very formidable

Tron has been tier 1 in the past. It will just get countered once again back to tier 2.

I do not run them because my sideboard does not have room for random Blood moons/Spreading seas. Also blood moon hurts my own manabase.

Hey Lord Hazanko, welcome back Smile Thanks for the good comments! I set out to get the 5-0, purely with the intention of getting some exposure for the deck. To be able to do that was just great Smile

Just following up on the hive mind discussion, and whether or not it should be in the deck. Kevin Groves wrote something like "its more correct to have 0 copies than 2". So basically, it's either a 1-of or a 0-of. As you say, the deck can function just fine without it, and I think having 0 in the deck is fine if you need the space (which is tight).

Just something else I wanted to mention. I've streamlined my manabase so that it can create its colours much easier. So, i've got kabira crossroads instead of radiant fountain as a starting point. Because I've done that, I no longer need Selesyna Sanctuary (i've got 1 leyline in the board, and sunhome/slayers as my only white cards), which allows me to run an extra gruul turf. As a result, I feel better about pyroclasm/firespout in the board. On top of that, I've moved ghost quarter back to the board, to be able to play crumbling vestige, city of brass AND gemstone caverns. It may be that gemstone caverns needs to be removed altogether, but I still like it. Anyway, that gives 3 extra G sources on T1, along with 2 forest, 1 cavern of souls and 4 gemstone mine that can all cast the scout (10 in total). It also makes sideboard red cards easier to cast. I'm pretty happy with that set-up.

The 1 thing I'm still not sold on is kessig wolf run vs sunhome, legion of the fortress. I need to test them both a lot more, but have always just loved kessig. It has much utility, and turns plant tokens into threats. But, Sunhome wins you games you don't deserve to win sometimes. Yesterday, my scapeshift opponent was about to win, I had 1 turn... I attack with 2 titans but no amulet in play. I was able to grab vestige + sunhome and add R. Then grabbed a bounecland (return sunhome) and vesuva copying vestige, making W. I used scout to put sunhome into play and tapped a spare simic growth and won. Those lines are not available with kessig. My friend runs both, but as I said before, I prefer my manabase with more coloured sources, not less!

I have been running both Kessig and sunhome. Kessig is not really needed but it is nice in games where you generate absurd amounts of mana.

Does stunning growth have a home in an amulet deck?

    Stunning Growth

Seems like it would give us a lot of early power using dredge, cantrips, then get back a bunch of Prized Amalgam's which work well with amulet already making them untapped. Would be crazy to see 5+ karoo lands with Stunning Regrowth, get the mana, put back into hand, then put back into graveyard at cleanup step for another time.

Let me know your thoughts! Seems like a very powerful strategy, great early game, lots of cantrips, and very explosive! Can it turn 2 win like old summerbloom decks?

Maybe run it as a sideboard card versus land hate?

Also maybe a Nephalia Academy as a 1 off? Note that I do already run a playset of Leyline of Sanctity on my sideboard but I would love to test alternatives.

    Positives:
    +Protects your hand against discard.
    +Easy to tutor.
+Works against Liliana of the veil.
+Putting the card/cards on the top of your library is optional.

    Negatives:
    -Colourless mana is pretty worthless.
-Takes a slot on side or main.
-Discarding is not always that bad(But Amulet Titan is a combo deck).

But yeah I could see myself running Stunning Growth on my sideboard. Getting up to 4 mana is pretty easy with the deck and it could be a huge blowout versus land hate, especially with the amulet.

Aaand RIP Eye of Ugin. Lets see if Eldrazi decks will die out now (or at least, become less popular).

Problem is that banning Eye of Ugin will also weaken Tron, which has done nothing wrong (yet).

Eldrazi Temple is the biggest threat, according to the most experienced players here since you can have more than a copy of it on the battlefield AND gives the needed colorless mana for Displacer, TKS, Smasher and so on while Eye does not.

Double agree with that, Tron is already so easy to hate out of the meta-game if needed. Banning the Eye of Ugin would hurt the deck a lot.

So, it will lose the buy status in the fair matchups. Fair matchups will actually have a shot now. I will call it a good day today if it happens.

As a person who has played Amulet Bloom AND Twin you sure have interesting view on things. But I guess you have a point.

What replaces Eye of Ugin if it gets banned?

It would be more sensible to ban Eldrazi Temple. Eye of Ugin is easier to shutdown as it is a legendary land(can only have one on board), and banning it would hurt Tron too.

But if the Eye Of Ugin gets banned, you could replace it with Ghost Quarter or with a basic Forest.

In order to maintain some form of a threat tutor, I've already replaced eye with Conduit of Ruin . Imo I definitely wouldn't replace eye with anything but some form of tutor replacement

I like the idea as it can be found with Ancient Stirrings. A shame you cannot fetch it with Expedition Map or Sylvan Scrying like you can with Eye of Ugin.

I have been running a list with snake + azusa, without the retreats. It has worked quite well but its less explosive + increased weakness against Lightning Bolt.

Bought myself a playset of retreats, going to give them a go. Considering replacing the Ancient Stirrings with Sleight of Hands for improved consistency.

I have decks for casual(to play with my friends who do not really have that many cards), 3 EDH decks and 2 modern decks, G/R Tron and Amulet Bloom.
So I guess 3 per format is enough? Depends how much free time you have.

Recently got second place at States over the weekend and was looking for input on changes I am considering and wanted to discuss things I liked with the list.
http://sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=93324 (not sure how to use the deck function yet)

    Proposed Changes:

    Things I liked:
    • Pithing Needles in the side
    • access to atleast 3 board wipes post board
    • sleight of hand over ancient stirrings

Been running Sigarda on my sideboard and she is a beast! I run Dragonlord Dromoka on my main as one off mainly because Burn/Jeskai Burn heavy meta on my region. I have been tempted to switch my Ancient Stirrings for Sleight of Hands for a while now. While Stirrings searchers deeper and can hit amulet/tolaria west/bounceland, being able to pick up other threats straight away seems good.

why does some of the list uses 2 Vesuva?

Vesuva is basically any other land in your deck. Some people feel the need to have that utility.
