Why not bant tokens with worship? Basically, it seems to me that the first problem bant has it's that it has some really good cards, but it can only face properly midrange decks due to the green splash and the creature based deck. With the green splash you go hard on creatures, losing counters removals and so on; the differences between a UW control deck and a bant deck are preatty much these. You could start from the gw tokens that did well in gpla, and add worship as a combo killer ( scapeshift, ad nauseam ). Nissa, Gideon and new Tamyio are supporting the token strategy; then you could add worship, some removals like pte and detention sphere, and some Instant token generator like rise the alarm and secure the wastes, to be sure that worship is doing always the job. There aren't so many cards played in modern that actually can deal with planeswalkers and enchantments, so they are preatty annoying. Bant token walkers with Worship seems preatty strong to me
This sounds really wrong to me. How is worship even mildly effective against those decks? When they want to go off they just bounce your Worship or blow it up or wipe your board, or just win with lab maniac. I don't think those decks care about Worship even a little bit.
Uhh what the hell do you mean "Low prevalence" according to MTGgoldfish it is 6% of the metagame. The third most event placing deck in the format. If that is low prevalence then we should probably just avoid discussing everything that isn't Jund or infect. Suicide Zoo isn't inconsistent unless you think you know more about magic than Sam Black who has stated Suicide Zoo is pretty consistent and felt strongly enough about it to play it in a GP and top 8. Not to mention this was just a month/two months ago.
I've been eyeballing this deck, but isn't there a fear of it being banned out due to a sudden win-from-nowhere, much like Twin was?
There is zero reason to fear this deck being banned. Twin wasn't banned because it had a combo it was banned because WOTC wanted to see more diversity in the field at the pro tour.
Running 4 goyf as the only green card and 4 foothills with 2 snow forest isn't going to get us blood mooned out of the game. That kind of thinking is preposterous. Running 2 snow forests isn't going to hurt koth unless we nab both of them. I'm thinking you just don't own goyfs.
I like the list, I would try to find a way to up your Path's from 2-4, since its basically the only removal in the deck. Maybe eliminate a bird or two. I'm not sold on Choke in the side either, just because it can have an effect on you also.
8 dorks is widely accepted. 2 Paths is entirely a meta call. A lot of people don't run 4 paths including Kasis's build. Why you're not sold on choke is weird to me because the deck literally runs 2 islands. Unless you aren't paying attention to what you're fetching you're most likely not going to be affected by it at all, especially since we run 8 dorks that all tap for blue.
Do we even need a snow theme for this big red idea to work? We have stuff like Flame Slash, Mizz Morts, and Roast to kill the big nasties.
To be fair the snow theme is basically a free roll.
What I want to know is if there is a reason to run Tarmogoyf. Seems easy enough on the mana can run the snow forests and some fetches so we aren't diluting our skred. It makes Koth ever so slightly weaker but also gives us a sweet beater.
Not playing this deck, but just passing by and interested... Isn't Jace, Vryn's prodigy really good in this deck?
Why would he be really good in this deck? He isn't a good beater or an efficient creature by any means. The deck doesn't really fill up its yard that fast. The deck typically runs between 8-10 Instants/Sorcery spells. We don't really care about shrinking our opponents creatures either and the emblem is literally worthless.
Ugh, this was a dud. Sure we get geist reprint and eternal masters for more reprint, but there are some cards that would've fit well in these decks like ghostly prison or casual zombie lords worth a pretty penny.
I miss the good ol days of duel decks where there was a good mix of high power and casual card mix. Now it's all casual chaff
They tend not to reprint lords who affect other players' creatures anymore. Death Baron would have been a good choice though, but I think it's too strong for a Duel Deck.
I never even considered that because I don't play standard. So... did you intend on answering the question or simply stating something that everyone already knew?

Have you ever considered a foray into (budget) modern?
