Good thread. I think as many cards as possible should be unbanned. Banning stuff in most cases is usually just a cop out. It would be LoLLy to be the first unlimited format, like Vintage in singleton format. It would be funny just to see ppl playing black lotus.
It is an interesting idea to allow color splash, but I don't think you'll find many willing to follow.
I think with time a good solution will be found, perhaps DC is best for control / combo play style. It does make for an interesting game, cyclonic rift perhaps is annoying but blue will be blue.
Bc everyone else uses the other generals, Deveri is esp commonplace even though it just came out, prob bc it is that good.
Be different, plus Oloro looks very suitable for control/lifegain which is good for multiplayer. Its got sucky art, but so does the general I am currently using.
Good luck, and post the deck you ultimately decide on!
Give it more time, as DC increases in popularity & w/printing of more legendaries I have faith that the creativity of the mtg community will come up w/ organic solutions instead of giving up to change game rule fundamentals... more aggro decks that can outpace control, etc. It will eventually happen naturally w/out intervention. This could simply be UW's 15min of fame, it wont last forever. Ppl will eventually make new decks and meta will evolve naturally.
DC metagame can definitely benefit having more competitive red decks, mono red has a positive influence in legacy in that it counteracts/balances control. This guy comes with built in burn. I wish its creature buff were a bit cheaper, but it is still good.
You're just saying that because you just built an Erebos deck.
I stand by my 21/21 assertion for reasons already stated, though I'm clearly in the minority here.
maybe
21/21 or maybe just 21 could be interesting too.
One thing I like about 30 though is that there is more of a strategic fight for the win, rather than your deck statistically pumping out the win T3-T4 for you as in the other netdeck formats, i used to play legacy burn and it can still manage to win drunk/blindfold bc it only had 1 decision to make at any given time, i suppose it feels like the difference between playing or merely piloting a deck. i would rather play
I think the more decisions and mistakes that can be made, the more interesting the game gets, and i can have fun losing too so long as i made it difficult for my opponent
I've already played a variation of this deck @ wooger, it could beat aggro decks like Krenko's.
I'm going to playtest it against my friend's decks tomorrow.

Constructing a cheap mono B deck, currently working from proxies.
