sites like this should be profitable
if they lose money on it, they should sell it
if they cant part with engine or something else, copy forum database to a new site with free engine, make some banners and be profitable - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
Well every card is meta dependent to some degree although its hard to image meta with Liliana being bad, you'd better preside out Thoughtseizes if your meta is aggro only. Of course Funeral Charm is meta dependent but with Infect, Affinity and Abzan Company being t1 and with Kiki-Chord, Delver, Merfolks and Elves running around I think it is good.
@Esperino
My discard package is inconsistent because I run 7 targeted discard instead of 8?) Hardly my t1 is inconsistent because I have 60% instead of 65% of t1 targeted discard. I already explained my stance on 4th Wrench Mind. I would add that I took these numbers from Tom Ross (the only pro author on 8Rack) and I'm satisfied with them. I dont say its not debatable especially because difference between 3 and 4 cards is quite small.
My sideboard is full of one-ofs because its versatile and I dont try to hit one super-hate card to win the match. And I don't really need to have 4 of any of them postboard. More versatility means more consistency. I run less great-or-bad cards (Thoughtseize, Wrench Mind) and run more always-ok cards (Funeral Charm). Of course its consistency.
There are a lot of decks with x/1s so it is ok vs unknown. Also it's instant which is more than a sorcery discard. It can be cast on opponent's draw step and end step. Other modes also could be useful
1x Dakmor Salvage
4x Mutavault
14x Swamp
4x Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4x Inquisition of Kozilek
4x Raven's Crime
4x Smallpox
3x Thoughtseize
3x Wrench Mind
4x Shrieking Affliction
4x The Rack
4x Dismember
3x Funeral Charm
4x Liliana of the Veil
1x Bile Blight
2x Disfigure
2x Flaying Tendrils
1x Illness in the Ranks
1x Leyline of the Void
1x Night of Souls' Betrayal
2x Nihil Spellbomb
2x Nyxathid
1x Surgical Extraction
2x Waste Not
With Waste Nots and Surgical being flex slots, I'm leaning towards replacing Surgical for another Leyline because there are a lot of graveyard decks nowadays and they like that we discard stuff.
Sideboard is lacking, too much burn hate, no Disfigures or Dark Blasts, Ensnaring Bridge is questionable, overall narrow sideboard, I prefer something like this
1 Bile Blight
2 Disfigure
2 Flaying Tendrils
1 Illness in the Ranks
1 Leyline of the Void
1 Night of Souls' Betrayal
2 Nihil Spellbomb
2 Nyxathid
1 Surgical Extraction
2 Waste Not
Don't replace Mutavaults, they are really good. And Ghost Quarters are card disadvantage which is against this deck's strategy
Don't replace Funeral Charms, flexibility is a key
I wont go less than 2 Nyxathids, they are awesome vs fast aggro
Yes in both games there was an Eidolon. No special strategy against him, just playing well. If casting a sliver raises my chances of winning even if I lose life then I cast a sliver.
I wouldnt judge any matchup based on this data since its too small, just overall winrate is close to worthy. Though I feel I got lucky to have such winrate vs combo
I dont pretend test sample is big enough. These are games, not matches. 65% games winrate, 75% matches winrate, I'm impressed

Lots of one-drops and lords never was my argument for this deck being good. In fact I didnt say it was good, I said it impressed me in testing so far. You failed to see how this deck can have a consistent t4 kill, so I explained with numbers (btw I didnt mention t3 1drop, lord, attack for 6; t4 attack for 12 and t3 lord, attack for 6, t4 activate muta, attack for 13). I dont know if you understand what I'm talking about because you ask for 'documented consistent t4 wins'. I don't win consistently by t4 because my opponents tend to resist. If they did nothing then I would most of the times. I dont have a grand prix record with slivers, but we dont have Bowman's record either. Did he play slivers at other events? How well did he go? 5-4? 1-6? 55-37? We dont know. Taking his best streak as true winrate isnt correct for sure.
t1 1drop
t2 lord, attack for 2
t3 lord, attack for 6
t4 lord, attack for 12 (or activate 2 mutavaults, attack for 14)
By turn 4 I will have (6.5+4)/60*20 = 3.5 lords in hand on average. And 3.7 lands.
Infect is a faster deck. But I play the same whether opponent has a Bolt/Path in hand or not. Infect generally can't afford to tap out for buffs and attack.
I'm pretty sure slivers with vials and company isnt a consistent t4 deck, so its slower.
8 lands and I can use Caverns too. Sometimes I can't cast Image, but its rarely an issue since I can cast him last.
And I'm not scared of aggro decks, I can race them
I don't know what unmake is
And I don't like Hero Downfall, too expensive
Others are ok, including Doom Blade
But don't use Victim of Night with Doom Blade or Slaughter pact since many vampires and zombies are black and you want your removal to complement each other
Personally I use 4 Dismember, 3 Funeral Charm
Btw Zombie Infestation is played in competitive Dredge
I started the deck when there were no Companies yet, but I wouldnt include them now. I have 8 green sources, so its not castable without changing manabase. And I dont want to, right now manabase is quite painless and is able to support 5c slivers. I tried other routes and I didnt like them (like having mana slivers or going fetches/shocks). Same reason I don't run Sedge sliver.
I'm the fast deck, I'm consistent turn 4 deck without vials. There are decks that sacrifice card advantage for speed, I run one of them. And its working for sure.
Btw Vial and Company are quite the opposite. First is speed and card disadvatange, the other is slowness and card advantage.
I might try Vial to make manabase more painless and stable.
